The moment I saw ClipChamp being available through the browser, I had my suspicions. And so I installed it from the MS Store (was just a few MB of webview code, so my suspicions were now validated) and imported a 1GB video file to "quickly" start editing. And behold, it takes an hour or so before I can continue (because it needs to upload the 1GB file before you can continue working on it). ClipChamp is a FULLY CLOUD BASED solution. If you want to edit a LOT, this is NOT your solution. Go for the others.

Thanks for the comment, I was about to try ClipChamp but decided to go with CapCut after seeing your comment. A fully cloud based only video editing service is truly only something Microsoft could come up with 🤦♂

I have been a powerdirector user for years. Switched to Clipchamp, following Kev's prior video, and so far is working. I just make short clips to share with kids and friends. Thank you Kevin, excellent as usual

Clipchamp is nice but you are very limited.
You just saved me MONEY!! I was about to use a "paid" service for a training that I am doing for work and stumbled upon this video and .... FREE video editing!! I'm going with DR for now but will be exploring the other two for future projects. Having used Final Cut pro and AVID, I'm not a beginner but I don't seek to find the most complex system to use in making simple video projects. Thanks again Kevin!
Exceptional video - clear, straightforward, and easy to follow. Never even knew I had Clipchamp already installed. Thanks for the recommendation!!
thanks for being very insightful and detailed... I love that you differentiated / compared the software from each other... all the best! 😊
Hey man, just wanted to stop and thank you for the content. Clear and straight to the point... couldn't ask for anything better.
Every time I look at one of your newer videos, I can tell they are getting better. Add to that great content, you're one of my go-to youtubers. Thanks.
Hello Kevin, I started using Shotcut based on one of your previous videos and I'm still learning how to use it. What are your thoughts between Shotcut and Clipchamp? Should I stop using Shotcut and make the switch?
Hi Kevin. What can I say . Your videos are truly amazing and priceless. I'm new to video editing and not a techno person. I need to start learning how to put short clips of my kids who play football (soccer as you lot across the pond call it) and make videos look really cool with slow motions, music, texts etc. I'll try the Clipchamp unless you have other advise. People like you make our lives so much easier with those extremely helpful advise. Please don't ever stop. Cheers

I love this channel. Always something useful & productive can be learnt from the videos.
I’m currently using ShotCut after you recommended it and I’m loving it. It puts a heavy load on my seven year old pc and stutters badly during the editing process, but gives me a great video in the end. I’m not sure if I’m ready for devinci yet so I’m leaning towards the first two. And I really like the screen recording option. Thank you for the advice.👍🏼😎

Wait...wait... recommended *ShotCut*?? Where? I prefer ShotCut to CapCut. Has Kevin recommended ShotCut somewhere?
You were the guy who recommended Davinci Resolve to me, I have been using it ever since. Thank you so much Kevin!
Holy man this is an awesome video. I am a movie buff but horrible with technology! So informative for just getting started! Thank you for the down to earth explanations. Very talented. Subscribed!
Hi Kevin, very useful video. I wish to use the DaVinci as I have time to go through the learning curve. One basic question.. I saw the free version offers project export option at 8K. Can I use 4k/8K videos captured from my camera in the media pool and do editsin the free version or limited only to HD quality? Thanks for making great videos.
Thanks for making this so informative and easy to understand!
You are amazing, thank you for this info. Will watch again as I have lots of little videos I have taken and done nothing with. Time to take action 🎉
I all ready use Davinci resolve for my KZread channel but still learning everything. Watching your vid showed me a lot more stuff to learn. Thank you.
Thanks for all you do Kelvin. Wonderful video as always.
Wow! Way too complicated for me, but I appreciate all you do to show me what's available.
My venture into complexity is hitting the wrong button initiating a vanishing act. We are getting into fishing and music videos, currently in a very beginner stage, for friends and family. Your video and links are enlightening; thanks Kevin !!
Thanks so much for this video! I’m going with Davinci resolve but the other two were great options and buildup. Great presentation as always. I’m gonna watch your other videos on how to use it. I’m excited to get editing now!
Thanks for all these videos. I discovered ClipChamp and CapCut because of you. I started editing by using Microsoft's Video Editor bundled with Windows 10 and now I've started using the other two.
Been using DaVinci Resolve for a while as I use an ATEM ISO Extreme to record inputs from cameras as well as different soundtracks. BlackMagicDesign make GREAT products. luv em!

Do you still need to unblock them from the firewall? I think that alone is suspect let alone the name of the company.
Awesome Job Brother! Love the explanation of all your recommendation. I feel I can jump right in and get started
Great information. I presently use Wondershare Filmora 12. Considering that I only use it 3 or 4 times a year it is steep re-learning curve each time.
Excellent explanation. Being a Linux guy I downloaded DavinciResolve. Installed easily. Now for the learning. Thnx.
Really helpful information for video creators! These are great options 🎥
Another Amazing video, Kevin. You’re a star.
Great advice as always, thanks Kevin, you're a champ!!
Thanks again Kevin! Awesome presentation.

Very good review and demos. Thanks.

Hi Kevin, would you be so kind as to make a video on creating Pivot using the Data Model and how I can group certain criteria for example: doing an Age Analysis of all items that fall in the Age Category of say 0-30 days, 31 to 60 days, etc. I have been using the Group Function in PIVOT, but as soon as I create the Pivot and Add it to the Data Model, I cannot group anymore. So a Video on how to do this using the Data Model would be great, unless you already have done such a video in your huge library of videos?
perfect video, showing us the features is very very helpfull in chooosing a tool
Love this video, thank you for the information! I am starting my channel, so i had no idea where to start with the video editing.
Thank you you’re always so helpful and you’re easy on the eyes as well
thank u kevin for helping start up editing my basic video in the future😀😀😀 GJ

Thank you. This video helped me edit my KZread video for my channel.
Kevin the video really was useful - thanks very much. I going to try DaVinci!
Thank's for the tips!!
Great, always informative 👍🏻
excellent demonstration and explanation of each in use
Your videos are truly amazing and priceless.Thank you!!
Hi Kevin Stratvert, Thanks for your videos it is really helpful. I tried the Clipchamp because I find it easy to use but then the video quality is reduced to 1080 only. It cannot support the 4k video, and when I uploaded it the resolution was really bad. I am trying the free software at the moment coz I am still new to uploading videos on KZread and I don't want to spend a lot of money on apps or software that I am not familiar with or won't use it in the future. I hope you can help me on how to upload a 4k video.
Another great value added video. Thanks Kevin!

I have been exploring Clipchamp thanks to Kevin. But I'll soon try to tackle DaVinci Resolve.
Hi Kevin I have been using DaVinci resolve and just upgraded to version 18.5 (pc) What has happened now is a disaster that i am hoping you can help with. Now when i import a media file and place it in my timeline all i get is blue in the timeline. No video or sound and the play button doesnt appear to work. Do you by chance have any suggestions please? I hope you can help. The free version has worked well in the past. Cheers Christine
Thanks for this. I'll use Clipchamp and Capcut for sound effects
Thanks for this, Kevin!
Hello Kevin! I was curious if you knew of any solutions to this problem im having. I have a recording of an interview that is 2 hours long. However, Im looking for a way to be able to go through and pull out multiple clips from this interview and be to be able to save them all individually and as one episode. So for instance, I'd like to make 10, 30 second clips from this 2 hour long video, but dont want to have to go through the video 10 times to do so. Is there a work around for this? Am i even able to do that? Am i just dumb? lol! Please help...
Than you. This content was very useful.
Thanks Kevin. You are the best.
Great video. Thank you for making this. It was very helpful. For those of us who write music for KZread whose primary concern is lossless audio rather than having video features, do all of these apps offer exporting in lossless audio?
Great overview thanks for sharing 🎉
wow that was so helpful, thanks
I was certainly contemplating between DaVinci Resolve and CapCut but I went with the latter because of the much more lenient PC requirements since mine is pretty low-end. But to be honest, DaVinci Resolve interface and user-friendliness is personally the best for me. (I tried OpenShot and ShotCut too and they are both powerful, but CapCut and DR for me get my top votes.) Not sure about the rest of you but it could be just down to personal preferences and familiarity of use. Cheers ❤

Why not Shotcut ....any specific reasons

I guess it's really just personal preference. Perhaps the interface and the flow as well. But DR is a bit heavy on the PC resources though. CapCut on the other hand is really fast and low on resources.

Hi Kevin and/or viewers. What would you recommend as a free alternative to the stop motion video feature in Photoshop? What I use that for is to orient all my photos and colour adjust them so my stop motion is "standing still" (not wobbling around) and is uniform in colour. Photoshop has a neat and super quick way of doing that. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
Great info, straight to the point, I was looking for something to replace hit film Express as it's a bit dated now. clipchamp looks greatt. cheers.
Great quick overview. I like birding and want to get more into videoing short clips of bird behaviour (say 10 second clips or 5 to 10 mins of footage and and cut usable clips out of that) so I will need to denoise low light high iso, low res, stabilise shaky shots and need slow-mo at 4k 120p/240p. I am aware of Topaz but its pricey for a retired amateur. I'm a Macbook Pro (M1 chip). Does the answer lay within DaVinci?
Thanks for the lessons, easy to understand, I really enjoy your teachings. Please make a video about graphic designing. Thanks
You're amazin man thanks so much

Hello Kevin and thanks for your wonderful videos. Can you add a video on how to add and use chapters in MP4 files? Any special software you recommend (free or paid for) Thank you
Thank you very much Kevin.
Thank you!
what app would you recommend for 'witness protection'? i had da vinci resolve, but when i upgraded to the next version, my PC does not meet the requirements to run the latest version and now the previous version is no longer available on the website
I will try this now. i think this the right video editor for me.
Great info, many thanks. I prefer CapCut.
Oh my gost,Thanks it's Fantastic!
Thank you so much, bro. U R the BEST....!
for a first time video editor, this video is amazing. i might go for capcut for the lighter spec requirement
Hey bor. thank you so much for the cool video and explanation on how to use it.
Might as well shoot for the top - DaVinci Resolve - since any learning curve is going to be steep for me. Thank you! This was just the information I was looking for.
Thanks Kevin. I was tired of the limited (but expensive) Adobe premiere elements. For example, adding closed caption is not possible in my version. Clipchamp seems like a good alternative
