Hera can probably beat 7 800 ELO players, that's because they will all stay in their bases waiting for Hera to attack first, creating their Sim city style house complexes, and perfectly aligned farms, while they research/train one of each tech/unit

Im a 815 player. My win loss is 57:49. Those are also all of my AoE2 games ever, I started playing only cos I found Hera, Viper and small caster channel online and loved the game. I basically have all of my wins in sub 30 mins and all are early goth man at arms or magyar scout rushes. 800 elo players dont really scout before imo basically😂

I've been trying to do 1vs3s because of the Masterclass achievement, I believe and am reasonably sure after a bunch of testing that a "fair fight" for a 1vs3 would be if the 1 is approx 200 to 250 rating skillwise above the 3. A difference of 1800 is just pure bullying.

I oscillate between being disgusted, fascinated and reeeeeally fucking impressed. I didn't know that such a high efficient apm is actually possible physically.

we need a 1v3 where the 3 side is being coached by a professional player in game too. like quick wall or make this unit etc.

The frustration in that coach would be palpable. Sounds entertaining. That said, most players at a lower level struggle to just focus on the task at hand. Trying to incorporate in-game coaching would probably not work that well for most of them.

It would be interesting to have a map where the solo player starts with the same number of TCs as the number of opponent players and set a rule to have the solo player able to play with more than 200 pop, you'd be able to play around with the number of TCs for the solo player and agreed upon pop limits for both sides.

you are right, if solo player cant eliminate early on with a rush, no skill can help you when it is 200 pop vs 600 pop

I think what let them down here was they did not seem to have a solid game plan going into this. If one boomed got into castle age quickly while the other two tried to attack/defend I think things would of been a lot tougher. Blue not having loom was really greedy, difference between 5 hits and 10 hits from scouts is a big difference (without forging). And as Hera said they had no one focused on ranged units. Franks going skirmishers is not ideal.

Agreed. Surprised there was so little Feudal/Early aggression. This kind of game would someone, even if they're not experienced... a chance to do a unique strategy was the way to go. If you're outmatched, you gotta try something.

In this kind of games I think you need to attack as earlier as possible, spam militia in dark (I gues Hera mention that this strat is forbiden) and dont let boom, then 1 of them goes to Feudal and add archers. Even if they play standard and go feud 19-20 pop then spam scouts and arches, you have more resources then Hera. And here we can see that only Incas tried to do some pressure. Franks and Magyars have strong scouts and did nothing. Yes, they lost couple vils, but still should be capable make 2-3 scouts each.

When I think it took me 2 years of regular playing to get to 1k elo in Teamgames, and compared to Hera you feel like you just started playing haha

I believe that real beginner are way less than 1000 elo, i am just around 1050 and i certainly don't consider myself as a beginner. I believe that it is the same case as those 3 players. Amazing game by the way, well played! Always inspirering

I'd say 1000 is somewhere between beginner and intermediate. I consider 900 a good beginner and 1100 as where solid intermediate starts.

Because of rounding errors and elo inflation, average elo is around 850 or so. So 1k players are better than average for sure.

@@dan-kn3dm there is no way a 1000 is intermediate. Watching them for 15 minutes is enough to know they suck at their starts and thats literally the most basic thing about the game.

I love how experienced AOE2 players (esp Hera) treat newbies or low ELO players. It' rare to see in other games especially MOBAs and FPS. AOE2 players are so nice until you steal their sheep -- then there are no bounds to their wrath

Skill differences aren’t linear in this game, more closer to logarithmic.

we used to play in elementary school with our IT teacher. He always picked one of us (lucky guy) as his aly ( mostly for trade) and went 2v6 against others. We always got stomped by him superhard haha. He was always playing franks and flooded everyone with swarms of paladins, or castledroped our TCs when we were still in dark age :D I think he was enjoying being a bully :D I remember in one game, i was playing teutons and was last man standing, managed to get to imp and to elite TKs . Good thing was that our teacher refused to make anything else then palas and trebuchets so my TKs put up a good fight, i remember other guys cheering me up, it was awesome. So awesome that its over 20 years and i still remember it. :) I eventually lost because castle push but hey, moment to remember for me. I think i might beat him today tho :P

This is my childhood games, use to play this game, offline on my crappy computer, using the race with the elephant (Forgot the clan/race name) and i would cheat (How do you turn this on) whenever i am ganked and got angry 😆. Good ol memories

If he wasn't wearing headphones you'd see the steam piping out of his ears from your brain firing on all cylinders. That was a very entertaining game to watch. No, my friends and I can't beat you lmao.

Colors are fine after you switched them. I like these kind of challenges, the problem is often the strategy choice by the 3 guys. Here, they should go really aggressive, like one flank playing drush fc into maybe conqs, pocket scouts into knights, other flank MaA+towers (e.g. with poles, than you have a nice castle age spam). Bring the aggression to Hera, keep him at his base. Then you have 3 working economies vs 1,

Maybe. The problem with something like a drush, though, is that they would do virtually no damage. The drush would arrive after Hera is already in Feudal and it wouldn't really delay him.

@@martijnbouman8874 If you play drush fc, you can drush earlier because you're only saving for feudal age afterwards. Even pre mill drush is fine here since it isn't a 1v1. You don't need to do damage. You want to buy time (he will have to vill fight or with his first scouts/archers) so that you can wall up behind. And then the next player can continue to fight at Hera's base. Again, scouts/towers won't do any damage because of Heras micro, but it is enough if the 3 players can stay healthy at home during the early game. They need to leverage their pop adavantage

i mean, its low level elo. U probably are not that invested into ranked. There is nothing wrong with being begginer, started playing 3 years ago and im still begginer.

I would build one more tc and that would be main base near my first tc. First tc would be just fake. Hera didnt have time to explore corners and would not discover it till I fully boom.

CA is way harder to micro in my opinion. Also way more expensive and takes longer to mass. I'm blown away Hera could go CA against 3 players.

Crazy APM there! 😮 Imho, what got them was the lack of coordination and a clear strategy. I mean, they should have picked up definite roles (offense, castle boom etc) right at the start.

After getting much Wood and stones start building towers so they will protect with arrows, and you can move civilians in it so that tower will throw 5-6 arrows at ones 👍🏻 towers are best for defence!

I believe 1200 ELO and 2000 ELO are the boundaries of the game. Above 1200 means you know the basic strategy of the game (economics, early offense, counters, civs). Above 2000 can have the chance to go pro

They have to scout him and walk their vils across the map to do this. If they douche, maybe, but one player bringing (6?) vils to harass a woodline or berries doesn't seem like enough compensation to drop a player..

Maybe add another price option: 200 (or more if you think that's better) but you only get it if you win. Would add a lot of spice!

It's hard to make a transaction where the opponent is forced to pay after losing. Many people would just apply and run away after they've lost.
