Nice impacts. I have a Rainer 555 on the original yellow base. But yours has that trip problem where the trip bar gets really loose and doesn't reverse or gets stuck. I also have a 565 which is the 1" version of the 555. Love that wedge drive buckner JR too.

That Rainer model could be repaired if it even mattered. It is just a matter of fixing that spring and doing a cleaning to the journal tube and the washers. I would love to see it fixed and working more progressively like it wants to do.

a couple of questions. How much PSI do you have going to these sprinkler heads? How many gpm ? what size diameter hose ? and how long is the hose? i have a backyard measuring 50 ' x 50 ft square , fenced in. I would like to just have one sprinkler head that can cover the entire backyard without having to move the sprinkler at all. I will have it on a timer so moving it is not something i want to do. Thanks for any advice,

Great questions! I currently have approximately have 110 to 120 lbs of water pressure that runs directly from my city water pressure with no regulator. It’s on a 1” water main piping that supply’s my irrigation system that’s on my property. The hose connection is a full flow 3/4” garden Hose Bibb coming off that 1” pressure main. The hose is a 3/4” x 50ft garden hose going to my little test stand from the hose Bibb. A guess on the GPM would be approximately 30 to 40gpm’s. I would think for your location that if you’re doing a portable sprinkler for a full circle that pretty much any 1/2” type head would work on a 50ft hose. Most 1/2” sprinklers do have different size nozzles to choose from to help with your water pressure and distance demands. The internet is usually a great place to research for your particular situation. You may need to know your current water pressure, pipe size and developed length of the run of the piping supplying the location. Knowing that will help navigate thru the sizing charts for whatever sprinkler head you choose. Hope this helps you and good luck on your project. “Old School Sprinklers”
