2x2 Determinants: what are they? | Guide to Engineering Maths

In this video we discuss the 2x2 Determinant. We find out what it's original purpose was upon first discovery and how we can understand it's use in transforming 2 dimensional space today.
*Notes:
- Conducting a row swap on a matrix is a discovered property of determinants of any square matrix size. The resulting value of the determinant is multiplied by (-1)^m, where m is the number of row swaps you conduct. So if the determinant was originally positive then after conducting 5 row swaps you'd have the same magnitude of determinant, only, it will now be negative.
