merc base i think got heavily nerfed now medic shield no longer does dmg if the unit would be one shot anyway so guys spam riot guards and dont bother with medics anymore

Probably, if he kept using the Gladiator ability constantly or like on important waves like wave 39 and wave 40 though for those two he could use half the Gladiators abilities on wave 39 and save the rest for wave 40
