I was a fan, but to be honest, his work didn't age as well as some other producers' work. I wouldn't say any of his beats from that era (or ever) are considered classics, if we're honest. You'll probably disagree as a fan looking at it from a subjective point of view, but his work just doesn't compare.

That’s why we bought CDs and tapes because we can look at the samples and who produced the beat to chop it up to give you a masterpiece. I miss the old school days. Remember, it was 2Pac who made it to where these artist got paid for their credits to contributing to the album. Not all made it to the credits like they were supposed to DJ Quik already referred to that.

And props to Dj Quik for mixing and arranging the All Eyez on Me album. If you listen the originals (can be found on youtube), you can see how much that affected also. There were lot of great producers working on that. I also think Daz is underrated, but so is Johnny J who produced a lot of tracks for 2pac and on All Eyez on Me.

Could you please provide the evidence that DJ Quik mixed and arranged the All Eyez on Me Album? I only know of him mixing and arranging some songs on the Album but not the whole album.

Ambitionz is my favorite 2pac song ever!
That’s why we bought CDs and tapes because we can look at the samples and who produced the beat to chop it up to give you a masterpiece. I miss the old school days. Remember, it was 2Pac who made it to where these artist got paid for their credits to contributing to the album. Not all made it to the credits like they were supposed to DJ Quik already referred to that.
All eyes on me has the cleanest crisp beats ever in hip hop, how daz did it is ridiculous, the crisp clean production still stands to this day, still some of the best production

I have to say that the song Scandalous has to be Daz's best work, IMO. That beat was magical, especially the background sounds, which I think is Daz's signature sound.

Daz is so underrated. He did a couple of joints on the above the rim soundtrack. He did 4 songs on that murder was the case. He produced that whole Dogg food album outside of 3 songs. Ambitionz az a Ridah, Skandalouz, got my mind made up, 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted, & I Ain't Mad at Cha for Pac. That Skandalouz hits different especially with Nate on the hook. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Timeless record! Daz said that song was already in the works & they had their own hook to it. Similar cadence but rhymed “saggin” & “flaggin” instead of “deny it” & “ridah”. Tupac made it his own & took it to another level.
