30 decades of rap isnt a always a gift. A lot of youth buried too young due to the gangster rap that altered people to do crime and killin innocent bystanders. There has been. I didn’t realize it for a while, but rappers are better now. Listen to the greats now and the music is more mature and nuanced in every way. Of course there’s a lot of garbage, but there always was. The art has progressed though.

@@E.Johansson I stopped listening to the radio years ago, so I don’t know the mainstream, pop stuff. I hear about drill music, but I don’t know any. Is that what we’re talking about? What I do know is that I’m listening to music that’s as good or better than the stuff I listened to in the mid-late 90s and 2000s. Some of it is from those artists from older artists that have matured and honed their art. Some of it is newer rappers. Unfortunately, ice cube is not one of them. He’s a constant disappointment. I used to sit in front of my radio mesmerized by Death Certificate. He was flawed, but brilliant. He never grew up, though.

Cole - Let Go My Hand J Live - I Am a Man For an example of some old heads doing mature rap, check out common and black thought when we move. Cube needs to step up. To me, he’s stuck in the late 80’s-early 90’s. Some of his stuff back then was actually more mature. There are a lot of old dudes like him that are irrelevant because they’re still making music for teenagers in the 90s.
