In 1917 Butte, MT had a population of around 100,000. I currently reside there. I believe Butte still produces most of the the copper in the US. When electricity infrastructure was still being laid out in the US almost all copper used was from Butte. Butte was one of , if not, the first city to use electric light in the state, be used in the copper and silver mines.

The Pintler Scenic Loop is a wonderful drive! There's also some small rivers nearby Philipsburg where sapphires can be found.

This is so cool. My son lives in Livingston, and we live in Three Forks! I wish we could drive over 200mph! LOL!

Didn't you know, Kyle, between Homestake Pass and Elk Park Pass is a landmark on the Great Divide called Our Lady of the Rockies which is a statue looking over Butte, MT. However, Our Lady of the Rockies is closer to Elk Park Pass than Homestake Pass and that statue is the fourth tallest statue of the United States.

well done, I have come to like your format. Getting the changes in music to match the speed and motion of the highways is well done. These make great videos to watch when you want to zone out. I keep crossing my fingers for lookout pass. Hoping to see that stretch sometime soon. Didn't mind the time skip either, was tried of watching that blue car hit their breaks for no reason.

If you look on the maps of Three Forks to Butte section of Interstate 90 Ohio and Massachusetts turnpike's New York State Thruway Indiana East-West toll road Continental Divide section you will find out that they actually used a Northern Pacific Mainline to reach Butte from Three Forks. If I-90 Mass Pike Montana section went Through the Pipestone Pass then it's below a Milwaukee RR Viaduct

Homestake pass is one of my most favorite drives, especially coming off the pass heading west. It almost feels like bringing a plane in for a landing. This video brought back some good, good memories!

Going through your older videos from yesteryear, I actually came across a video you did of I-90 driving though the Divide from around 7 or so years ago. But this is a nice remake. & yeah, Montana is very scenic. BTW, here in SoCal we're on storm watch as the hurricane named after the former 1st Lady is heading here. At the posting of this comment, it's a Cat 4, but will lose most of it's strength by the time it arrives here. This storm is also heading in your direction (& parts of Arizona & Nevada will also get hit too.) So I'm just hoping it won't be damaging as the storms that Florida & the states on the East Coast has to deal with.

That video actually just got removed today because of the updated release of this video coming out. Not much has changed in terms of the road itself but this video is way better in quality and editing. Thanks for acknowledging the older video. That video was 9 years old. Crazy how time flies. Stay safe in that tropical storm. We will probably get the tail end of it here where I live but it’s still crazy to see rain in August in California considering August is like the driest month of the year.

This is the fourth time you crossed the Great Divide in this series. Homestake Pass is like a gateway to Butte, MT through the Great Divide and only that and Elk Park Pass are the two Great Divide mountain passes that border Butte along the county line. Deer Lodge Pass is one Great Divide mountain pass through Butte. Lastly, Butte, MT is one of a few consolidated city-counties in Montana that almost covers the entirety of Silver Bow County, MT, but there's only one enclave suburb of Butte called Walkerville, MT just north of Downtown Butte.

As usual, well done, sir. Was that a guide sign that gave the distance to Spokane? I've seen one on the I-40 WB just after crossing into NM from TX and it gave L.A. along with Tucumcari and Alberquerque.

Must been a guide sign Kyle put in because Spokane does not get officially mentioned in Montana till just after the St Regis Exit which states DeBorgia is 14 miles, Coeur D Alene 97 miles and Spokane at 131 miles. Coeur D Alene first gets mentioned for first time on westbound I-90 just after the Phosphate Exit, 170 at 234 miles out. Spokane is only mentioned once in Montana after St Regis, won’t see Spokane mentioned again till in Idaho after Exit 43 which Spokane is 61 miles out.

Hey, Kyle, I wonder what are the change between 2016 and 2021 when back in 2016, FWJ drove that route westbound as well while on his way to Seattle and all the way to the PNW.

Kyle, on a mountain outside Butte, a statue of Jesus Christ was built and completed in 1985. I drove through Butte Montana in 1992 seven years later and don’t remember seeing a sign for that attraction anywhere. It’s the Mandela effect. The phenomenon is real!!🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

@@jamesmassey-cc4ml If they had been able to create the tram to it in order to make it a tourist attraction, it would probably be more famous. (Legal action and a private road blocked the tram.) I live in Montana, and only learned about it from a Butte, MT documentary on PBS. I had seen it from I-90 prior to that, but wasn't sure what exactly it was. Someone had once told me incorrectly that it was a statue of St. Anne, mother of Mary, grandmother of Jesus. St. Anne isn't even the patron saint of miners.
