2K needs to get away from this “badge” chasing idea. The over reliance on the color of badge makes the game less specialized for multiple player styles and effective gameplay. They highly wouldn’t consider that though: too lucrative.

I started the game with a 6'4" pg and quickly realised that there is little benifit to not having a 6'9". I made a 6'9" shortly after being frustrated by the fact that 6'9" can do everything just as good but get in the paint significantly easier, defence is also significantly easier. There is next to 0 reason to have a shorter player unless you want to run left and right till your open to shoot 3s lol

Shit I think center been nerfed for years now. I wanna say it was during the first year of the 2k league guys were literally parking under the basket and dunking everything. 2k saw that and everr since bigs have been frustrating to play when dudes are missing bunnies with nobody truly contesting yet the smallest guards can now run under the basket and toss it up with defense on them and get a good animation

It honestly seem like 2K want to make the game all year round. I don’t really want to play 2K for the rest of my life. I need about six months off each year. So I vowed to not play 2K unless it’s during the NBA season

I noticed that they fixed the attribute cap space. Probably you have to choose before what type of build you want to make. In this picture you can see that this is a lockdown, because youre are not able to hit 99 dunk/ 3pt/ ballhandle.

Regressing badges going to be hard on post scorers cause it’s going to be 5 out in the rec and Pro am

That badge system is going to keep people from playing the game for fun and it’s going to MAKE PEOPLE PLAY THE META AND STRESSFUL

You should be able to upgrade each individual attribute that creates your own plays type. These badges are some of the silliest decisions that the game has ever implemented.

I'm glad that the builder is not like 23 because that builder ruined my build that I was suppose to make but instead I had to make a 6'10" PF build

We honestly have to wait till the game comes out. Mainly because the height is only 6’4. Most likely your attributes take hits the taller your build is. Which I honestly don’t like either. I feel like the builder should be balanced all around but for some reason folks keep showing a bias toward making SHORTER builds more OP. Which makes no sense because basketball is generally dominated by taller players, I mean I get this is a video game, so why not just balance it all around instead of just nerfing one side to make the other side shine brighter. Never understood that. Edit: I’m also not a fan of the badge fluctuation. I feel like that could get pretty irritating, and it’d also cause people to run from games more than they already do. But I’m feeling pretty optimistic this year so we’ll just see how it plays out

Tbh 6’9 wasn’t really the issue yeah they were op and did everything so did a lot of builds in the past 2ks, 2k15 wit the 7’0 Demi builds are prime example, the gameplay was just the only reason why 23 6’9 ‘s were op defense was trash and the offense required no skill, if u make builds that could do everything make the gameplay balanced

6'9 builds wasnt the problem it was the badge system. 6'9 got the best badges then you got the 6'10 6'8 and 6'7 builds that need more badges just to keep up. if defense was good it would have been fine

Nah cuz I play a certain way against bums which is often then have to pull out a deeper bag when the competition start getting good. So I'm hoping this doesn't affect some of us who gotta deep bag who can't use all those badge abilities in one game

I enjoy all Rease content. But, 2K Release News, Rease, Hands down! The funniest content. But this is going to be quite a nice little system. The only downside to this system is the constant NEED to touch the ball for Bigs and not losing out on those badge exp, due to Regression.

2k has become an online paid YMCA bootcamp rather than a fun basketball game to play.

Lol the badge grinding business is completely destroyed. I wonder if 2k was purposely trying to eliminate people from making that money off of their players (they want ALL that money for themselves)

The 6'9 was good at every position because od the badge tiering. You could get so much better tier 1 finishing builds that at that point, unless you want a more specialized build were at an instant disadvantage of making a 6'8. And the 6'1 was cheesy because it got about 103 total badges which is crazy, where as if you went up to a 6'2 there was no point and you would be crazy to make a 6'0 or 6'2. That was the main thing, wasnt anything really to do with the attributes. I hope it's different this yr but we gonna have to wait and see.

I know one thing,they gotta nerf these builds being able to do EVERYTHING,unless they’re gonna make the defense capable enough to guard that bs.

If you can’t get quick first step now with a 6’9 due to height being a factor in badges then that changes things a lot Reece.

Yeah it was taken out (QFS badge) but probably grouped into the speed booster badge or something else. So really the only reason you could get Hof qfs with a 6'9 was because people learned to cheese the 90+ (whatever it was, maybe 99 idk) post up attribute because that gave you a chance to get the badge at Hof instead of gold and that was a cheap category in the badge tiers to max so it cheesed the thing . But you're right, that was a problem with the height. The other was how cheap the better finishing badges were with a 6'9 compared to one inch shorter or taller. You also got more total badge points at more important categories. I had a 6'9 without the post up badge cheese because I built it the first week of the game before I knew...plus I didn't wana do that. It was still really good at gold. Hopefully there's no oversight to the builder like that this yr, but people will find the exploits regardless.

Bro not having as many other attributes go up and not having badge points in the game makes a hugeeeeee difference. No more adding close shot to get more badges or mid range when u don't shoot middys that much. Higher attribute requirements for badges. Yeah it's the same builder but so much has changed bruh

6'8 is the new max height for pgs now.

Reese go to leadership skills in my career mode and you will understand the badge system and skill points in 2k24 if you grinded a little and used leadership skills you will understand the possibilities in multiplayer it’s been tested in offline mode in 2k23.

It depends on how much it goes up n down also if you have to make the shot for it to count as progression...

Maybe I'm a little slow, but if the complimentary attributes aren't moving along with the attribute that you're increasing, isn't that a huge change? Especially when you include the news about the Badges tiers and perks? With the removal of badges like QDS and Limitless takeoff, it could easily change the meta. Especially if a higher threshold for those animations is required.

Then change the matchup system. I used to hate being the primarh ballhandler at 6'9 while having an anorexic 6'7 SG get dogged in the paint at the 3 spot

I will say they took out quick first step which is why the 6'9 builds were good, but idk what they put in so we will see.

They should have badges tied to multiple attributes for example chase down shouldn’t just be blocks the most athletic players get chase down not big slow centers should be speed+vertical+blocks

Imagine if you got x amount of XP per game you win in park... Could you imagine a content creator who gets the game a day or so early. They squad up on Park when only 2% have the game and they go on a 10-15 game win stream. 15x XP. They'd be 99 and done before the game even release 😂

badges … you’re forgetting that the badges and tiers and animations like limitless takeoff made 6’9s better …. the builder doesn’t need to radically change if the animations and badges are different .
