2bricks Review - Ambush On Mandalore + Paz Vizsla & Moff Gideon Battle
Ойын-сауық
Here is my review for the June 2024 LEGO Star Wars sets Ambush on Mandalore (75373) and Paz Vizsla and Moff Gideon Battle (75386). 2 sets with excellent figures, and terrain builds that come together to be more than the sum of their parts!

While these specific sets don't speak to me, I totally agree that modularity is an excellent strategy and something lacking in current LEGO! Keep it coming!

Nice!
"haha, that fired stud just disappeared" Nono, a stud in offering to the Pyle! 😂

Ha!! The Pyle demands blood sacrifice in the form of red 1x1 rounds!
Great review and breakdown of these sets ☺️ Potential idea for a video you could redesign or expand the Paz vs Gideon set with the pieces from the battle pack (or 2) and some additional parts. Could extend the floor at the front so all the figures fit onto it, or build up the additional area between the doors when they are in the 90 degree position. Could even turn it into a Diorama. Just a thought love the videos as always ☺️

Thanks!! Great ideas all round!!
Honestly while I don't think the other set is really worth the money, the battle pack in this is great! As a kid I would've way preferred the background "set" it comes with rather than some dinky little speeder or walker like lego usually has in battle packs. It gives you a much better way to play with and display the figures, especially the neat little jetpack function.

Thank you!!!
I would love to see you make a moc with these two sets.
The Paz Vizsla And Moff Gideon is the designers first set! It’s really cool!
It's funny how almost everyone agrees that the larger set feels too small for $40, but once you combine it with the battle pack it feels like a $60 package.
Also, I very much prefer getting the flesh colored heads, because even if it's useless here, you can then have useful heads for figbashing. It's the same logic as being able to use the pieces of the build for a MOC.

And having those heads in a minifig that hides the head makes it better to swap out than if you need to take it from a fig where it's noticeable that it' suddenly gone :-D

That’s true! The upside of being able to use it for other things only applies to those not collecting minifigs like myself- totally right!

@@2bricks Technically, if you don't care about what's underneath, you could just get one minifig even if they come with two heads underneath 😅

@CoreFlux haha well *I* know what’s under there lol
Great review. I love those sets.

Thank you!!
i’ve always thought that recent LSW was missing out on real play sets. this and the tantive iv are (hopefully) the first steps in some way larger play sets

I’d love to see more larger scale play sets! A Batcave-sized Mines of Mandalore set that led into this area would have been so sick!!

You really confused me calling that hallway set the Tantive IV. The most recent Tantive IV was that midi-scale set.
I agree, it’s very cool how these fit together. Thinking about some past sets, I would have been interested in the Tantive 4 boarding set to have a second set with Leia, 3PO and R2, or maybe Leia vs the stormtroopers. Two sets that go together! Same with the similar set with Luke and the super soldier droid guys from that Mando final episode. How about a second set with the bridge that connects to that hallway? Anyway, these two sets do look great together. I think I could use a second battle pack plus one more praetorian guard, just to make the numbers a bit more accurate from the show.

I agree that there is definitely a praetorian disparity- I guess we can just get one more battle pack and figure out a custom weapon set up for the other ones! I definitely think there should also be more sets that "go together" in each wave going forward yeah! lets do it LEGO cmon!!
Really love the sets, and great review. Very cozy to listen to and informative. Been looking around if people have done alternate 'modular' battlepack builds to attach to the bigger door. Or used the battlepacks to upgrade it. Would you consider it in the future, maybe?

Thanks!! Yeah I am considering what, if anything I want to do with these sets expansion-wise!

@2bricks Aye! I'll definitely be looking forward to it, if it's a plan
Would love to see how you would upgrade them or add to them to build a bigger playset scene

I kinda wanna do that too!!
For me it is JUST too expensive. When you combine the two it becomes especially apparent. Value and price are here different things. When I look at both sets combined my inner me thinks: that's a solid 40€ set

Can’t disagree with you! Its value just has a lot to do with how you feel about it subjectively, and if it doesn’t work for you then that’s that!
Bought them for the figs, will buy more for the figs as well as the parts cause they have great parts included

I like the crates. I wish they would remove all the figures from these sets you make room for more crates. Crate only battlepacks

“The battle of Crate” if you will
Wait, is Lego owned by Hasbro?
@2bricks
Ай бұрын
No sorry, that was confusing, Hasbro owns Kenner, the company that had the exclusive rights to Star Wars action figures for a long time. Lego is just owned by the Lego group!
