28MM PWK carburetor VS 24MM flat slide on a 223 stroker
Tested the 223 Predator-powered Mega Moto 80/105 minibike with a 24MM flat slide carburetor and then did the same test with a 28MM PWK carburetor.

Loving these comparisons. The little adjustments and the effects they have. Stats on your builds are interesting.
I love the carburetor tests! There’s so many options available now!
The amazing PWK carb...the best of both worlds. In general: Round slide carbs tend to be easiest to tune and the round shape of the slide helps them transition smoothly from idle to mid range to WOT. Flat Slides can offer incredible throttle response and are hard to beat in the mid and upper revs. In the lower revs it can be a challenge to get and maintain a good fuel air flow and mix. They can test your patience with tuning. Between the two is the other "flat slide"; the D slide. It has the lovely low end smoothness of the round slide combined with most of the characteristics of the Flat Slide at higher revs.
Can't wait for the bigger jet comparison!
Another great video....keep them coming !
Black 66, sweet video! Funny i just got my pwk 28 and 30mm carbs on wensday to test out and compare as well! It will be interesting once all the carbs are jetted properly to see what the differences really are…
Nice video, thanks for the comparison! I'd like to see more mods on this.

The adjustable power jet is going to be the game changer with that pwk !!
I use that exact same pwk28 on my zs190 Grom clone … it’s been amazing. Only complaint is lack of a bowl drain.
I can't wait for the next video
I believe street bikes are the best thrill ride/ danger. Until I keep watching YOU bang out 70mph on a mini bike with a set of disk brakes for a tike-bike. You are mad crazy. I will gladly say you minis’ are impeccably clean when the camera starts rolling Everytime.
That 28pwk is awesome.
I have that same PWK on my drag bike setup for methanol albeit a 32mm. One thing to remember on the jetting for those is, you also have a powerjet delivering more fuel on top of the main at wide open throttle. Main jet sizes will always need to be a touch smaller than what you'd use on a similarly sized carb.

I have a 212r mkii from EC that I ran stock and built as well. Any questions ask away. I just finished building a 225 tillotson high compression billet everything max effort engine yesterday to replace my 212R because I got the itch to go bigger and faster lol. The 212R is in my opinion the best out the box 212 money can buy. But nowadays so many 224, 223, 225 options, if your handy mechanically I’d go right to the tillotson 225 and save the time
Sweet test. Now do one with different fuels. Pump and alcohol
I thought the cheetah clutch was slipping more than it should've been almost like it's not fully engaged until 4k rpm...I've been modifying the max torque and working ok. Love that bike though!!
I run the 28mm ;D slide on my stock 224cc with a pipe and it boogies!

What app do you use for the speedometer to show up on the screen?
It showed up with a perform. The twenty fourth millimeter with a bigger jet in that twenty eight d slidisplay
If you put a primer clutch on that bike it’s gonna sound sexy 👌🏽
How could I determine witch size Maine jet I should put in my carb
What jets are you using on the 28mm
Ciao black, sarebbe interessante sapere la temperatura dei gas di scarico, great job and nice place!
hey i have a question how do you move the fitting on the valve cover to look up i was neverr able to move mine
When I first got into this little hobby all I read was people were buying to big a carb for these engines. From the results of two videos from 2 different people this weekend that's not holding true. I believe I need to up mine to at least at 24mm. Thanks for the video. What hydraulic setup you running?

I see what you mean with the jetting. I just got a 24mm nibbi for my Coleman ct200u, and it has flat spots when you get on it. Hopefully a bigger jet will fix that.

Mean looking bike. Surprised you haven't converted over to two stroke motors.
How do you calculate the right gearing for the project bike you're working on I heard you once talking about someone that makes whatever gear ratio you want. But how do you figure tire size into gear ratios and all of that thanks great content like always

He was talking about volts mini bikes, they will make whatever tooth sprocket you want. It was his “75 mph with one mod” video where he tries out the 40 chain with a 4.0 gear ratio!!
Are the needles interchangeable? I have a Amazon Mikuni or Maikuni PWK28. Thanks for your response.
To get any benefits from a carb that big on a small engine you’ll have to port the head & install bigger valves, Too big is usually bad

Depending on the build I'd say. They'd be horrible going against a genuine on a two stroke, very difficult to tune! 😳 That's why alot of people blow up their two strokes, they cheap out on the carburetor and jets and can't tune it perfectly. I have no issue with generic pwk carbs on 2T engines but I only use genuine jets and I know how to tune a carb pretty well.
The floater needle keeps falling off from mines anyone knows why it happens?
Where did that clamp for the catch can come from. And is it holding up well mounted to your frame.

Hey so I had a thought. I want to make a street build so I want to gear the bike high to hit in the 60's somewhere, so to get that covered I will be putting a 420 predator on (I want to keep the engine stock and cruise at low rpms). The problem with gearing it high is that lack of torque on take off and the risk of burning the clutch. I've been brainstorming about gearing and different ways of achieving what I want. And the best way I can think of is putting an electric bike hub motor in place of my front tire to assist with take off and acceleration. Do you think you could test something like that?

Have you changed the needle? Sometimes It will cut out on quick throttle if its lean. If you lower the clip on the needle down one or two so it pulls the needle up a little more maybe it will help.

24MM flat slide works awesome on the 212 . www.gopowersports.com/24mm-flatslide-mikuni-carburetor-kit/ PWK, NIBBI also work well. I guess it boils down to personal preference. If you use a Nibbi you can get it in flange style so you can use the intake off of the VM22 to save money.

I think that gearing might be too much. I’d put a bigger rear sprocket and settle with mid 60s top speed but 4.40 0-30? That doodlebug with a max torque and not nearly as modified engine was pulling those numbers
The jets on the 24 would have been the first thing i would have changed and it would have been better then the 28 mm . Long story short , change your jets b4 you test.
Can you run a nibbi 28mm on a modded predator 212 ?
