    I used a ton a few times on decorating my coworker's monitors (he had 3) when he didn't come into work. I made fun patterns each time. he caught me doing it one day, ops haha. My boss had specifically ordered special colors for a project and we ended up not using them so they were all on his desk, there was no way he'd ever use them all in his lifetime or anyone else in the company so I had fun with them, :D

    Do NOT use binder clips as bookmarks unless you don't care about ruining your book. The grip on those things is way too hard - it'll scar the cover of a paperback and leave imprints or even tear the pages of your book. Use POST-IT NOTES. That's what they were originally designed for, anyway!

    I've never seen a Post-It leave a residue, and I just took down a cookbook with Post-Its that have been in there for over ten years. Peeled them out clean as a whistle. What in the name of the gods are you doing with them? They were DESIGNED not to leave residue - that's the WHOLE POINT to the product!

  • @Serai3

    +EnglishatHeart Bookmarks fall out. That's why Post-Its were invented (by a librarian, no less). They were originally meant to be bookmarks you could place anywhere on the page and then be able to use again and again.

    Drill bit one is silly - you can buy magnetic drill bits. Threading the needle too - just trim for a clear edge and dampen the end with some spit ... yeah it sounds gross but it's how we learned in sewing class and faster than waiting for nail polish to dry.

    I Loathe staples, but paperclips come with their own issues - such as catching on other papers and sometimes falling off. We have a divided camp in our household - staplers vs paperclippers. Ordinarily I alternate stacking papers horizontally and vertically if they don't have to be tethered together. I always thought that staple plate option was for stapling things to a flat surface like a bulletin board - that's what my 1st grade teacher used it for.

    You're supposed to keep the plastic wrap box CLOSED while you roll out your wrap. That's why there's a serrated blade on the EDGE of the lid! You pull the wrap out under the closed lid and then pull it against the sharp edge. So you don't NEED to worry about the roll coming out of the box. (Jeez, do people really not know this??)

  • @englishatheart

    @englishatheart

    5 жыл бұрын

    Yes, but those tabs are there to help with that. It's not like someone just randomly decided to push the ends of the box in, the tabs are literally already there to push in. That wasn't a hack, as they're already built into the boxes.

  • @ginnyjollykidd

    The folding board for the child is incredibly elegant! And simple! I recommend turning the shirts face down so that when it is folded you can still tell what piece of clothing it is when you put it in the drawer. Also cut the middle piece to be half the width of the drawer so that you can put your stack in the drawer without overlapping. You might take a paint stick and measure the drawer depths and mark them so that you know how deep the stack can be without scraping off clothes when you put them in.

    Favorite hacks from this video, the natural black. Mixing the blue and brown was so simple yet made just the color I needed for a picture I'm doing. I didn't know if I used my white colored pencil first on my highlighted or white areas before adding color, it would "hold" my place for later. I love that one. I've been using rubber cement. I love your videos. Your way of presenting is one of the best I've experienced.

    DO NOT make a habit of nail polish to thread a needle unless you trim that end off before sewing.. If it's a hand needle, the end will be stiff to pull through on each stitch If it's a machine needle and you make this a habit you can ruin the needle or worse, flake off and damage your machine. Sewers use bees wax or a commercial product. You can try just trimming off the thread at an angle - with sharp scissors, that often is enough. Who would want to wait to sew until the polish dries?

  • @carmenmarsh7308

    @carmenmarsh7308

    5 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for pointing that out. If I had thread that was frayed I would just lean over and grab my scissors out of my sewing kit before I would get up and run to the bathroom to grab some nail polish. I also don't understand the one where they are painting the usb plug before the next nail....smh

  • @adrienneanderson-smith2257

    @adrienneanderson-smith2257

    Yes... I laughed. That was a very impractical idea. It would either not go through or (worse yet) rip the fabric to be sewn. A little saliva does a fine job in a small split, anything longer needs a trim.

    how to tie your shoes super fast : so first make the easy simple knot, the base. Then you want to go under the shoe laces with your pinkies ( one on each side) and you want to make a circle with your index finger and thumb, then on the left side, go under the shoelace, on the right go over. ( Left : under to over , Right : over to under ) . Then you wat to grab the opposite sides and pull through! Hope this helped

    sorry, but I cringe when I see socks folded and the elasticized end tucked over. My mum always did that, and, sure, it makes a tidy package, but it also stretches out the elastic sooner than necessary.
