You should know that white wine vinegar and white distilled vinegar are two different things. Each time you say 'white wine vinegar' you really mean 'white distilled vinegar' - cheaper and less chance of any residue remaining.

If you try the vanilla in the oven, a VERY important step is to place the coffee cup of vanilla in a COLD oven. Then turn the oven on to pre-heat with the coffee cup inside. This way the cup heats up slowly and will not shatter from the intense heat of the over rack. Once the house smells like heaven, turn the oven off and leave the cup inside to cool slowly.

As someone who works in a gallery, absolutely do not use a bagel to clean a painting. The oils and such in the food will damage the painting. To properly clean a painting, a sponge works just fine. If the paint is completely dry, the sponge can be a little damp.

I use Bar Keepers Friend on all of my stainless steel. Just make a paste on a microfiber cloth, let it sit on the item for 2 minutes and wipe off with a wet cloth. Then use a dry cloth to shine it up. Looks brand new and removes all water spots and rust. You can even clean the oven with it (just do a test spot first to make sure it doesn't hurt it). The screen over your stove can also be cleaned with Bar Keepers Friend. Removes grease.

At the age of 79, I moved to Queretaro, Mexico on 11-2-2021, because the USA was too dangerous and expensive. I always gave away all my life, and I still do, but it was so freeing to have everything removed from my apartment, and giving my kitchen and bath preps to my super nice friends. It is $800 per month less expensive living in Mexico, and my rent includes a furnished apartment, all utilities, WiFi, and maid service. My apartment is in a 24/7 secured gated community, and I have groceries delivered to my home, as I did in the USA. I have a beautiful view of the city, and the people are so kind and respectful.

Here's a good idea for cleaning the garbage disposal: get one of those round plastic toilet brushes (dedicated to the disposal only), spray well with whatever cleaner you like, insert and scrub inside, lift up slightly to clean inside of rubber gasket. Rinse all. Works much better than those packets you pay for. If your drain is smelly, spray a little bleach cleaner down to the drain and let it sit overnight. Block off the garbage disposal side to reduce bleach odor.

I don’t know if you know this. I just found out a year ago. To clean the aluminum thresholds at the doors, go to an auto store and buy, Aluminum wheel cleaner. Wipe off any visible dirt, just use a damp cloth, don’t go crazy, then spray the cleaner on and wait 5 minutes. Use steel wool to scrub in the same direction. Wipe of with a damp paper towel. It works wonders. I was at Home Depot looking for steel wool ( you can use a Brillo pad) A guy next to me said something about cleaning , I don’t remember, I told him how to clean the thresholds. He was like OMG, I’m in charge of cleaning at a mall and they were going to clean the escalators that evening. He said they are hard to clean, so I said they will sparkle after that cleaner.

I use a pair of spa gloves over a pair of latex gloves to clean mini-blinds without taking them down. Spa gloves are those funny looking scrubby shower gloves to use in the bath. If you don't have big hands the ones from Dollar Tree work great. Take a plastic garbage bag or tarp and put on the floor directly under the window sill to catch the mess. usually put an old bath tower over the tarp to absorb the water You can mix equal parts of water, lemon juice and water in a plastic bowl. If you put it in a spray bottle it is a little messier, but it will work. The latex gloves are not absolutely necessary because none of this will hurt your skin. Put on the spa gloves, dip in the solution and use your thumb and index finger to do top and bottom all at once Go gently from side to side. Use your other hand to support the back of the blinds so they don't bend to much. The scrubbee material of the spa gloves combined with the solution will cut right through all the gummy dust and build up. This is a much faster and more effective method and you can use a spray bottle and a light spritz of water to remove any remaining solution. You will have gotten some water or vinegar lemon solution on the windows behind the blinds, but a paper towel or some wadded up newspaper will shine them quickly. Extra tip: once the blinds are dry, wipe them with a dryer sheet which repels dust. Enjoy

It's just "white" vinegar not white wine. My washing machine is 10 years old and it has had NO mold. I leave the door ajar whenever it isn't in use so it gets dried out. So, no cleaning needed. Also, I don't get grime between my oven glass, but, check your door on the sides and look for screws. If you can find screws then take them out and the, front and back, of the door come apart. Much simpler.

I had a terrible odor coming from my kitchen sink area. Cleaned out the cabinet below-no leak, no turned over product. Used sink deodorizer tablets to no avail. It was getting so bad that I could smell it in another room! After doing everything I could think of, I finally found the problem. I have a garbage disposal and there are black triangular rubber jobbies around the drain. Using a teaspoon, I ran it in the underside of those jobbies and some disgusting unidentifiable goop came out in the spoon. If you're having the same problem, give this a try.

Try cleaning your entire washroom with Lysol toilet cleaner (LTC). It will remove soap scum from all surfaces. I scratched my faucet to scrape away the scum, with LTC I wiped it off. Apply Lysol TC to the top rim of your bathtub, it will flow down. Squish some LTC onto a microfibre cloth and wipe down EVERY surface in the WR, including all plastic containers and every surface of the toilet. Once you finish wiping, go clean the tub and faucets (any area with scum build-up you pre-treated the LTC). I tried all sorts of methods and cleaners, this was the easiest and most effective. Do not use on mirrors or non-plastic laminate tops.

I use vinegar to clean my dish sponge once a week, and I throw them out if they get too bad, white vinegar is also great to get the funky smell out from washing machines, just chuck a slug of it in the draw and wash on a 60degree wash. Bicarb and lemon in your kettle boiled with water gets limescale out etc. Don't put your vacumn filter in a dishwasher, the allergens remain and its just gross, just bloody wash the filter in the sink with a bit of dish soap after getting all the crap off and clean the sink with vinegar after. Bleach is dodgy and should only be used very sparingly, I only use it occasionally down the plug holes.
