25NL Zoom Hand Review With Top Pro BenaBadBeat - Part Two! 50 of My Hands Quickfire Reviewed

Ойындар

We're back with part 2 with Ben Raven aka 'BenaBadBeat' reviewing my hands at 25nl! Ben is one of the very best players in the 500nl pool and today we are doing a quickfire review format of 50 of my hands since my move up to 25nl! This is part 2, and you can find part 1 here: You can follow Ben's journey on Instagram @benabadbeat! 1:52 to skip intro.
Thanks so much for all the support on part 1, everyone seemed to really enjoy the format! The hands in this part are almost certainly worse than the last video, so don't go easy on me!
If you do enjoy the video, please consider subscribing and dropping a like as it really helps me out!

    I like your way of thinking, but I also think that in some hands it should be simplified, because as far as I understand nick is an aggressive "reg", and that's why I think he must be more aggressive on turn, because with small size bet people don't trust him, and if the river is not shav all in, such bet sizing on the turn makes no sense to me. And the problem is that he always plays the same, sometimes he needs to mix, because his 4 bet doesn't mean much to people in many cases, in that case sometimes narrowing the range a bit is the best possible thing where he will get paid on big hands! sorry in my bad english ahhahah

    Thx for the content. So cool to see how you learn, progress and also make mistakes. Not to see you fail, but I think most serious players on the micros make like these agressive mistakes. Difficult 3 bet pots that seem easy to do 1/3 with range etc... I also make these same mistakes that end up costing a lot.

    Nice video. I'm recently coming back to zoom after doing very well at 25 and 50 zoom up until 2015. Unless the games have changed that much I can't help but feel that you're overcomplicating your thought processes so much that you're leaving yourself a little unclear in spots and I think Ben nailed this in the summarising statement. Sometimes thinking on level 2 or 3 can outlevel you when a lot of 25nl people are on 0 or 1. There's also the old adage that at zoom, when people are betting, they're more often doing it for thick value rather than bluffs or thin value. I think a lot of the time you can start to overestimate their ability which pushes you in to making plays that just aren't profitable. Just my observations but thanks for a great vid.

  • @eastyyy22

    @eastyyy22

    Thanks! You definitely have a point. I do think it's best to start with solid fundamentals and then adapt where necessary, but I agree that my adaptions aren't on point at the moment! I'll keep working on it though.

  • @Klyne
    @Klyne3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for this vid. I'm unsure about bet sizing. Are you meant to bet bigger when you have a stronger range than your opponent and bet smaller(/check) when they have a stronger range?

  • @NLHero

    @NLHero

    3 жыл бұрын

    It's fairly complicated as there are lots of competing factors but you pretty much have to consider both players ranges and how they interact with the board. If you have lots of marginal hands that need to deny equity and villain has a few very strong hands for example you may bet small and with a fairly wide range to deny equity but not run into villains strong hands too often. If you have way more nutted hands as well as weak hands (more polar range) then you generally want to bet big with value/bluffs and check the marginal stuff. I think the easiest way to develop an intuition for bet sizing is by looking at solvers and learning concepts from gto toy games.

    At 4:52 Ben says 'having hearts is good for a river bet'. Can someone please explain the reason for that? He says it's bad for betting the turn. I assume it's bc you block heart floats that fold, but I'm confused on reason it's good on the river.

    tip: instead of mentioning your Ks blocker w/your AK ott vs fish, give your thoughts on WHY you think its at all relevant. In this case it may not be at all relevant and I can think of one small reason why the Ks blocker is more favorable to betting

    Hey man!! Because of high rake, i play a 100% 4bet strategy with continue range OOP, i would love to know your opinion on this, and maybe talk about this to BenabadBeat? Population dont have 5bets bluffs, like, if u look at theory there are 5bets allin A5s etc as a bluff. And we dont cap our range. I am trying this about 2 months right now. Ps. I try to play 50nl for 2 days, lost 300usd hahahahah. But there are a lot of fishes there too, and i run very bad. Like, people raising/calling 3bet with 95s from hijack and hitting the flush. Im back to nl25, but i think that is not very different from nl50.

  • @eastyyy22

    @eastyyy22

    Hey buddy, hope things are going well for you! I actually think this is a completely reasonable approach, paying rake and being OOP is horrible! Things that avoid this can't be bad, but we have to be careful with frequencies. You're absolutely right about under bluffed 5 bet jams too! Good luck mate.

Every hand it's like you're begging Ben to tell you that you're terrible (and he doesn't because you're not) or you're apologising for a minor mistake (or something that's not even a mistake). I had very few notes on any of the players in question, so you'd be asking for a general exploit to the 25nl pool. I personally think this leads to dangerous assumptions, especially as I'm fully aware of how capable some of these regulars are.

    @@eastyyy22 GTO will cost you more money at low stakes than it will win you. I wouldn't even bother with it unless you are playing $500nl or higher. My experience is based on 6 max $25nl and not zoom but 99% of the time your good reg opponents will play straight up ABC poker and betting will be super focused on value. They pretty much never bluff (especially big multi tablers - they don't have time to think it through); over folding is an excellent exploit. Focus more on general exploits and less (if nothing) on GTO.
