I can confirm this hack still works. Hacked my 5102P back in 2018 and flashed the 5202P firmware afterwards. Now after watching your video just for curiosity I reverted the hack, then changed the bandwith back to 200MHz and flashed the latest 5202P firmware over it.

@@renepost1977 exactly. The 5102P hardware is identical to 5202P, so only the firmware limits it to 100MHz. Once you set the bandwith to 200MHz you can also flash the 5202 firmware. The flash display still will tell you it´s a 5102P because thats an other procedure to change it, but the 200MHz will remain unlocked.

Hi Toni, how is it going with the Hantek 5072P hack. Does your the simple guide to extend the band up to 200MHz really apply? Did you manage to make a backup of the system, i.e. 8 files, or if only 4 files are stored, would it be possible to restore the system? Have you tried reading 200MHz with a good probe? And if the band extension was successful and works, does it only have a 3dB drop at 200MHz? Sorry for the many questions, but I could use the upgrade to 200MHz just now. Thank you very much for your willingness and for the very nice videos. Good luck.

I'm a little confused about the backup listing, where there are only 4 system partitions, but these new Hantek DSO5072P have 8 system partitions. Bought the DSO2D15 model, later I discovered it has Trigger Level problems with signals below 300 mVpp. I did all the firmware updates, still the traces run on the display, no way to stop them. Things get worse if you keep the oscilloscope on for more than ten minutes. Then, if you select a 50 mVpp sine wave with the internal signal generator, the image is strongly distorted. I contacted Hantek several times, they wanted a video of mine showing the issue. Sent the video twice in a month, then Hantek disappeared. I re-sent a final e-mail today, I am waiting for a sign of life from them. At this moment no help at all, their after sale sucks. I did a BIG mistake, I should have bought a Tektronix instead but you only learn these things later...

@@TonyAlbus Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes I contacted Banggood and they offered me a refund of $ 100, they don't take the scope back because it's been 6 months since the purchase date. What do I do with a $ 100 refund if the DSO5072P is handicapped for my measurements? I have noticed only recently the Triggel level problem, unfortunately when their warranty has expired. I will have used the oscilloscope three times, max four, I keep it at home as a back up instrument as I have two loyal CRTs by National and Tektronix. The Hantek as an after sales company is doing very bad to me, unprofessional. I have twice sent the video showing the defect, to date there has been a useless, non-constructive exchange of e-mails.
