Save that brass! At Weatherby ammo prices, you're going to want to start handloading. 😂 BTW I own a Vanguard in 30-06 with a Zeiss scope. It's my baby. ❤

When I got mine, all I could find here were 2 boxes of the 100g TTSX’s, the previous owner had a partial box of those 110g ELD-X’s, he couldn’t get it to shoot 3 shot groups, same as yours, 2 touching and another outside the group. With my 110g Accubond load, ragged hole groups were the norm. Love the 257 Bee.

Awesome cartridge. Now own 3. Got to love you kids. I like a 115 Nosler pushed by RL 26 = 3,475. Also like the 100 grain Swift Scirocco II at 3,575. Zeroed at 300 yards it only falls 19.5” at 500 yards. This was Roy Weatherby’s favorite cartridge.

Excellent test video extolling the virtues of the 257 Weatherby Magnum. I’ve got a custom build on a Borden action with the bumps with 27” Kreiger barrel and it shoots lights out. It’s really a very undersung calibre in the U.K.,being a very potent flat shooting and light recoiling calibre. I also have a Shilen similar build in 264 Win Mag and it’s even more potent with fabulous accuracy which easily eclipses on energy my Tikka VM in 6.5PRC. I athink your groups might have been even tighter we’re you to tie down your led sled which is same as mine, as although the rifle is essentially being held the same your rest unlike mine is able to move around as I’ve put corner stops to abut the feet against much as would ideally load up the feet of a bipod. Hope we get to see the test of your other ammo soon also maybe some handloads

The old Hornady 120 gr HP was made especially for the Weatherby and 25-06. I use em in the Roberts where they shoot incredibly well and hold together and penetrate. When I was stationed in Montana and Wyoming, newbies would get glassy eyed talking about the Weatherby. No one ever mentioned meat loss. Ever, unless it was pointed out. You will be honest about that part, won't You? Take er easy, have fun, good luck!

The .257 weatherby magnum is a very good choice for deer. It’s a ballistic sweet spot for a deer caliber. If I didn’t have a few new calibers to stock ammo for I’d be on one myself. If I don’t have a variety of 20 boxes of each deer caliber in stock I feel short handed. Currently diving into the world of 7mm after hunting with ar 10 a few seasons. Keep stocking up for the rainy days and don’t stop putting out great content. I guess you saw Colt has a new bolt gun out

Love my 257 ultra lightweight. Pretty much exclusively handloaded for it with 110 accubonds. Here where I live a person can shoot quite a few animals, and I'm guessing between me and others it's killed at least 50 big game animals. Mostly deer and antelope, but at least a couple bears and 3 elk off the top of my head. Everything has died very quickly and a very large percentage between 350 and 400 yards. No worries about holdovers needed sighted an inch high and can always hold on hair at those ranges. I think Weatherby has a pretty good selection of ammo on their website for most calibers currently. Been looking forward to the videos on this one, and excited to see more.

I run 180 gr TTSX in my 300 wby mag, either in reloads or in the select plus gold box. The most accurate bullets I've found for my mark V. Almost cheaper to just buy the factory ammo nowadays. 257 is next on my list of Weatherby buys, I've used them but never owned one myself, it is an ultra destructive round when used on whitetail. I like the new 307, I may make that the next one.

Nosier partitions out of it , and, if I do my part, I can get consistent .45 groups off a bench at 100 yards. I love the 25 calibers. I think I have 7 25-20’s in different configurations now. Looks like groups improve as you go along. Some barrels take a few shots to start shooting straight. My .243 did the same in the beginning, with frustrating cold bore shoots spoiling the groups. After some shooting, the cold bore shots are much less, and the groups are better. Just a thought.

I think that 110gr eldx bullet will be the one that groups the best. Everything I have shot with that ELDX bullet has been a tack driver down to .43 inch groups.

Weatherby rifles are so cool now that i started looking into them ... What i thought was especially impressive was a video I saw on KZread of a 30-378 wby mag pushing a 130 gr ttsx .308 bullet at over 4100 fps, which is disgustingly terrifying performance...

.257 mag I think be my next white tail rifle. The only thing I dontblike is that beyond custom rifles I don't believe you can find weatherby chambered in any other rifle. I'd love to see it out of a Tikka.. if I didn't go with the .257 the other option I would go with would be 25-06 Just for options

Father in law sold his 257 WM. Said it was his most accurate rifle but he was tired of paying 80 bucks for a box of ammo. That was 10 yrs ago

Looks nice. Would like to see a comparison of .257 weatherby mag vs. .257 roberts. But with real ammunition for the roberts. Not the underpowered junk the industry has put out for years because one manufacturer put out a sub standard rifle.
