I have type 2 diabetes. I spoke to my doctor abt me going raw and vegan as l was already vegan but not raw.. I now and again may have a healthy vegan meal but am 98% raw. She told me " Yep go for it Rikki". I have an amazing doctor who is open to these things. My sugar levels were once 27.6 and today are in the 7's and still going down. Also my weight has gone down 4 kgs in 2 weeks. My weight had been coming down very slowly cooking my vegan meals but has been amazing in the couple of weeks l have been doing raw.. Thank u as you guys inspired me. Funny l rung my son telling him l was going raw again as 8 yrs ago l did raw for a while and as he reminded me when he said." That's great mum , l remember how healthy u were on raw".

Excellent motivational rikki. Most of the lifestyle issues are just our body’s reaction to the incorrect foods we eat. Once we start eating right foods the body will get rid of all the impurities and you will be healthy and lively once again. Good bless everyone.

I've been following Paul, and when I first discovered him I knew I had found someone who spoke my language. My own current acquired knowledge, and intuitive inclinations really aligned with his wisdom, and I love his straightforwardness about the raw food path. I love that he addresses some of the misinformation being thrown around without concern of what others think. He is not afraid of expressing concerns about the raw food community and the dogma that overshadows it. He's definitely the real deal!! It's good you exposed him further to the community! : )

Jillian you mentioned this a few months ago and I had just been eating a banana cacao shake for dessert every night and I was feeling awful the next day and hadn’t made the connection until I heard you mention your experience. Mike Perrine with Everyday Detox (that would be a good interview by the way) - is also a student of Dr Bischi - regarding eating less he always says the body will take you there. Meaning if you are listening to your body your appetite will be apparent and your body will take you to the point of eating less and less over time. I know sometimes people try to eat alot less after hearing that we don't need as much food and they struggle because they are hungry. The body will take us to how much we need to eat

I usually don't eat at night, but once every 5 years I feel the need to and if I don't, I wake up in teh middle of the night hungry - if I'm doing a lot of brain work or something. So I don't think it's bad if you truly need it - to deprive yourself - just have to make it easier to do. I don't stop the flow - I have no cutoffs when I eat or don't - and feel better that way. I agree - it's more natural to eat early - but then you'd go to sleep earlier too.

It's impossible to eat too much fruit 🙄because we are frugivores who can adapt to a less physiological diet. Every time I eat a meal of bananas I feel satiety after the 6th banana or the 8th banana, it depends on whether they are large or small and if I eat one more I risk vomiting! I speak from my own experience 🥰🙂🥰🥰🥰

Wonderful interview Gillian! I actually did phone consultations with Fred for awhile ten years ago. At this point I had been trying to do the raw diet for three years and it was not working for me. He helped me so much and I used his book Your Healthy Journey. I had severe anxiety and after talking to me he said he didn’t think it was a chemical thing for me but more spiritual deprivation. It took five years but I healed naturally. I do remember that one of things he advised as Paul was saying was quality and quantity. The quantity part stuck out to me and I struggled with overeating on a raw food diet. Like so many I ate high plant based fats and have since cut them way back. But this lifestyle always instinctively rang true for me. We don’t need to eat massive amounts but I always felt how on this diet could we get enough? Over the years I’ve just naturally decreased the amounts. I’m definitely going to look into Paul’s books. 💕

I think it really doesn't matter how many bowel movements you have for a maximum. When I worked a job - it was 10 times a day, and it was fine. It happened that way, because there were restrooms in the warehouses - so I'd have to hold it the entire shift - 8 hours! You can't hold anything after that. however, it's temporary. I mean if you're going a lot, it can be a sign of an infection, as that's waht'll lead to diarrhea. I think if you feel ok, that's what matters. The thing is you ahve to make sure you're digesting the food you're eating - so if you go a lot - it's probably due to undigested food. That said, some nutrients are supposed to not be digested - like fiber, so it's fine to go many times if it's a lot of fiber - which is highly likely on vegan diets. So it's thinking what's happening and if it's normal or not - but I wouldn't feel there's any min or max amount of times. If you don't eat, you won't go to the restroom. If you burn it up, you won't either.

Also, perhaps it's time you interview David Wolfe? :) I"m sure you would get many 'haters' because he is somewhat controversial, but haters are nothing new! haha. @@GillianBerry yay! here's my list: - do a list of what's raw vegan and what's not - especially the ones that'll fool people. Maybe what's deemed acceptable - different definitions of the word 'raw' and what aligns and doesn't align with what raw really is. - how to transition from various diets towards a raw vegan one - how to find raw vegan food - in multiple difficult places - how to eat food before it goes bad - like only buying what you can eat that meal, etc. - some common q/a - maybe through a mass zoom call with viewers asking questions - interview those who aren't raw or fully raw who want to go raw but have hesitancies and work through their thinking - like a psychologist lol. I'll keep adding as I remember - I forgot. There're just some gaps missing in my head.

I always hear of raw vegans struggling with b12. Doesn’t celery have a lot of b12?

my grandparents said the doctors stop caring at a certain age - are used for their piggy bank - so if it's bad at this age - it's horrible at 90+. I stay away from dr's if I can avoid it. If it's out of my control, then I will - i"m not 100% anti doctor - just staying away if I can help it.

@@GillianBerry I'm the same :) Sounds cool. I stopped going to the doctors for blood work, due to donating blood - they think something's wrong when there isn't. Also my blood work's always normal, so there's no reason to risk the doctors finding something that doesnt' exist if I'm always healthy :)
