older sony hi fi were built really well. All models from 1993-1999 were top in their class...and if taken care of,...they last. I have a 20 year old LBT system and its fine...still playing CDs.

They look good but they don t suit into living. They make your room poor and old. Today you buy harman kardon aura, onyx, marshall portable speaker who look and sound modern

👍🏼 I’m living in United States i use to have the same one I bought it on 1999 brand new when I come to United States I try to find a used one good condition but the problem it’s not built for United States I contact someone from Europe and we work together to get it shipped united state it’s cost me a lot of money but it’s worth it. Voltage is 220v but i Resolve this problem with the transformer I get one it’s like new I’m lucky to have it I will keep it forever I will never sell it

Mine was a Sony GR8000. Double Woofers. I bought it in 1998, after my 12th class board exams. 145+145w RMS. Totally a monster.

Do you have any experience with aiwa stereos? I have one, the sound is very good at least at lower volume, the speakers have built in subwoofers but if you crank the volume up the speakers tend to distort.... Even at half of the full volume in some songs i have the feeling that the speakers are about to blow up. Any ideas whats wrong?

I think it depends on particular model. Overall Aiwa should be good HiFi systems.

maybe the speakers are not the original one with the system, or if you are using AUX, the bass maybe too high in the input...for e.g. if u are using your cell phone or laptop. It should not distort so easily.

i had a 21 year old samsung srereo but the rubber on the woofers dried up and fell apart

sony system speakers dont dry up at all...mine is 20 years ago and looks just as fresh as the day i bought it.

Yes but sony first came out with Drum pads, and DJ pro 25 years ago man! Can you imagine? no other company did it.

Previous owner didn't use it as much. And later on he kept it in shed because it was powering off. I fixed it and it's working fine. Little bit polished and it's looking amazing even in these days. But not only looking. It also sounds amazing.
