Hey friends! Just a quick note about Maria's podcast: it's now called "Growing Joy With Maria" - the same name as her KZread channel! Listen on any app you listen to podcasts on. I was even a guest a couple years back! 💕

I would really love a part two with 25 more!! I really want more variety in my plant collection but am limited to the light I can offer them . I love that you included a couple philodendrons, they are my favorite type of plant.
Glad you showed some love for air plants, they're so underrated. Great video as always 😊💖🪷

soooo underrated! 😩 Thanks! 🥰
1. Kalanchoe beharensis (feltbush) because of how big and fuzzy the leaves are. 2. Philodendron hederacea micans for the lovely velvety look. 3. Rhipsalis pachyptera and Schlumbergera for flowering so loyally every year. 4. Dracaena surculosa for doing a better job of being an indoor bamboo than "Lucky Bamboo" does. 5. Euphorbia leuconeura for just looking so WEIRD. 6. Haworthia cooperi for having cute little windows while being easier than lithops. 7. Coleus amboinicus for the fragrant leaves. 8. And don't laugh, but I have a warm regard for the species spider plant, the plain green one with no variegation. Got a tiny one for a housewarming gift that's grown into a big mama plant, and pretty much everyone I know has one of her babies.

Love love love Aglaonema/Chinese Evergreen! Tigress, Maria, Silver Bay, Cutlass, Pictum…all of them!

there isn't a bad option!
Not one that many people think of as a house plant, but I love dwarf Cavendish bananas. They're relatively cheap online, adapt well to growing indoors, and give a tropical feel. They just won't fruit indoors, but that's fine with me because the plant dies back after it fruits and starts a new plant through pups.

I've never considered growing a banana indoors before!
Great list, great t shirt, can we get another 25 please 🎉
I bought the red emerald Chinese evergreen a few years ago per your suggestion - easy and beautiful!

Yes! Of course we want to see 25 more plants! I have so many, especially since my own plant purge. Today's favorite is my Rhaphidophora decursiva, love those deep green fenestrated leaves.
I’m loving a trellised Passion flower I started from seed indoors just for fun. -Passiflora incarnata-doing well but small, no flowers yet. Will put it outside in summer. Yes to another 25! 🌱🌿🪴
I’d really love to have a walking sanseveria, but haven’t had much luck finding them even online. Have you seen any in stores lately in Philly? My favorite plants not on the list would probably be various types of jungle cacti! I love the way they hang down and they’re much more suited to my home than desert cacti. I have a dancing bones and some holiday cacti, but I’d also like a hurricane cactus! The one at Longwood is so pretty and purple!

that's a fun idea!!
Can't beat a ❤ leaf Philadendron. I've had one for 30 years that I chop and reroot and start again. I have a very old tlanthe sp? that even flowers. None of the drama of a Maranta. And my Hoya carnosa. Good grower and you can count on blooms every Spring.
Love aglaonemas, though I haven't figured out the care for the colorful ones in my space; they just turn yellow on me 😵💫 Some of my favorite plants right now: Asparagus fern (my parents have had theirs for years and I always loved looking at it as a kid. Plus, tiny tree-looking plant?🪴 Yes please!); variegated jade (I must've gotten a top cut from a mature plant because the leaves on mine are HUGE despite being in a 2.5 inch pot. It's just a little cutie pie🤗); variegated lipstick plant (it turns SO white and pink in high light and looks amazing. Also haven't really seen anyone with this plant so I must admit I feel blessed 😇); Senecio Stapeliiformis (though I'm not normally a huge fan of cactus and succulent-like plants, I love the medusa vibes of this plant. It literally looks like a bunch of little snakes growing out of the pot🐍); and of course my pachira which bounced back exceptionally well after I decided to cut off all the thrip-infested leaves🌴

@NickPileggiPlants - the like water...a lot of water. It took a few tries for me to figure them out. My big one is 4 feet long with leaves the size of my hand and covered in red flowers most of the time now.
Yasss! I agree especially the trailing ones 💚🌱💚
A lot of variety! Many of these I never considered 😮
Yes! 25 more please! My favorite in my collection is my Sansevieria pinguicula….so excited when the new baby formed! The cebu blue pothos in my collection is gorgeous, and so easy to propagate. Thankyou Nick

Me too!
We want 25 more! 😊 There are others I really love, but my absolute fav are Philodendrons! I have approximately 100 plants at the moment (ooops) and I have 51 varieties of Philodendron and 55 total Philodendron. I’m obsessed with my newest one which is Emerald Queen. But at the moment really loving Whipple Way, Silver Sword, Squamiferum is always a favorite, Golden Dragon, Mexicanum, Longilobatum, Splendid, Berle Marx Fantasy (her name is Britney because it reminds me of the perfume Fantasy by Britney Spears), and Brasil is always a favorite and is getting very long and climbing around the plant shelf in my dining room.
My favorite plants are those which thrive at home instead of dieing fast or slow. I will list few that are tough. Monstera, Schefflera, Philodendrons(most of them.) Scindapsus pictus argirius, hoya, some succulents and cacti(if you have plenty of light.) Ficus elastica, some snake plants.
I love my Jade, Golden pothos, and Cebu so much..❤
Nice shirt!💙💙 Love all the plants you listed! Peperomia Hope and Sanseviera Dragon Wing are 2 of my favorites!
I like many houseplants, but I think my favorites have got to be indoor fruit trees ( citrus, banana, avocado, mango, etc. ). Whenever I find one of those weird fruits in the grocery store, I always save their seeds and try to grow them. I also have 2 older plants: a calamondin and a guava. I'm hoping to find something a little more exotic, like cacao or pouteria.
@NickPileggiPlants

I used to love doing that in college! maybe this is a sign to start some seeds lol
Yes, please add another 25! Unsuccessfully, I tried growing string of pearls. It was difficult to get the amount of water correct. I’m glad you like string of hearts, maybe the spring I’ll try growing those.
Your videos are getting better and better.
Hi Nick! Love your choices! I've had trouble keeping a Janet Craig and False Aralia alive, but really like them. Yes to another favorites video and plants you hate video. Would, also, like to see a video on which plants you recommend putting in self-watering pots. Love your t-shirt! Thank you so much for sharing!
More, please. ❤
Yes to the Philo Florida!💚
Would love another 25 of the houseplants that you love! I'm looking to expand my houseplants again really soon (spring is just around the corner)! :)
Love your top....brings out the blue in your eyes. Golden Pothos and Agleonemas are my favourites. Also 2 succulents that have pretty scented flowers in autumn, Crassula Morgana and Sedum seiboldi.

Same here. There should be a special plant phrase for "plants we like so much we feel we need a dupe".
I love my Peperomia Quito and recently got a Shumi Red. I have a sansevieria francisii; I didn't know I would love that so much, and I would probably like other varieties. I have the worst luck with String of Hearts; I have a variegated one that is alive, but I wouldn't say it thrives.

Oh, and mini monstera. That's my oldest tropical plant alive. I got some really good specimen years ago. I got lucky. This one is quality one. I air layered it and now I have many. They have grown so much I have to chop them again. It's the fastest growing plant ever. I mean in the summer it literaly grows faster than grass.
Yes! Another 25 more!!!
I would love another 25! Spring snow is on my wishlist I love my neon pothos, philo micans, and pepperomia hope ❤

Thank you, Nick, for something happy and positive and Personable! (So often “personable” seems to cross the line into aggressive…. Too bad…)… Anyway, thank you. My Schefflera Nova thanks you too… years ago I admired yours, and found one ( At Last…you are right - difficult to find this plant!).

Enjoyed this. I'm a peperomia fan and am always excited when you pop one or three into your videos, I've never seen or heard of the elongata but will be searching for it! Florida is on my wish list. I had been considering the ghost, but after you included that on your bad list I will be weighing my options. Thanks for your informative video. Will be waiting for your next 25 faves.

steve's leaves sells elongata, I found it hates peat and excessive heat, would be a lot happier in a succulent or bonsai mix and maybe 85 degrees tops.

@@debbiefrick4380 It's a little more finicky, more prone to pythium/root rot and its definitely got issues with summer heat. I should add that EcuageneraUS in Florida has maculosa, its almost identical except more heart shaped leaves and more venation and a little cheaper.
Philodendron gloriosum is just so glorious that it has been my favorite for years. I love aloes, especially Gonialoe variegata because of the gorgerous pattern on its leaves and the way aloes grow in general. Euphorbia platyclada is a plant that became an unexpected favorite of mine because it looks like a dead plant. It's also really easy to grow, I haven't even replanted it yet and it has already bloomed and is now growing more 'pads'.

@NickPileggiPlants she's definitely a stunner. We also have the rattlesnake calathea. Well, I've had it since like 2011, 12, and my husband decided one time to divide it into a quarter of a million pieces. Let's just say, I'm surprised it survived. Anyhow, I've watched your videos for a while when you were back in your other apartment. I enjoy watching your videos. One thing I've noticed is that there are only a couple of plants I will fight for (as far as pests go), and now I'm like, "You're on your own, you dirty bitch!"
Love my p. incana! Almost killed it but has since bounced back more beautiful than ever!

My favorite at the moment is philodendron Micans. You have to have one to know why. Next Scindapsus pictus argirius. Cebu blue pothos, Cissus discolor, hoya Crimson princess, Monstera Peru, Silver sward philodendron, tree philodendron, Euphorbia trigona, heary opuntia, Kalanchoes(some of them.) Madagascar palm. Gloriousum. I think I mentioned some of the best I have and I have them because they are the best.

Hi Nick....I really love Sans. (18) ,but have a few of others types (12). I had a Coleus planted outside. It was terribly sad & only 3" tall.....brought that little guy in at the end of last summer just for s*^ts and giggles and he actually gave me flowers last month. Still looks terribly spindly at the bottom but he just keeps putting out new leaves. I love your videos... you always make me smile. What’s the best way to grow pepperomia Incana? Trailing or bushy or clipped tight? Anyone? Thanks!
