Another fun fact about Zuka Zumamee is that he is also known as the "ellite that hunted Chief but was always one step behind". In the book, when Chief and Zuka finally met face-to-face, it states that Zuka has brought a shade turret onto the lift, but Cortana has deactivated the lift causing Zuka to fall to the bottom of the shaft without a fight. He did survive, albeit heavily injured, and all he could do was wait until the PoA exploded. In summary, Zuka is honestly the definition of bad luck. Also, a few of these I recently learned by going through random pages of Halopedia, like the Reach anniversary map's reference pictures and the Last Exit remake of Marathon's survival games.

It's always funny to me when you talk about the Scarab Elevator thing in H3. For the longest time I thought that was the *only* way to do it. I never put together that you can just... blow it up, I thought you *had* to go up the elevator, board it, and do it that way.

I remember finding the elevator with my little brother one day. We always just drove around on the mongooses with the rocket marine on the back until the scarab lowered, until one day we found that elevator. There is a second one all the way to the right too, just no sniper on that one

3:13 dont remember if this counts, but atleast in the general command structure 5 stars is never used. The only commander to be alive when awarded it (General of the Armies) was general Pershing, although only ever wore 4 stars on his uniform. If you are wondering who the other person to be awarded it was, it was GW.

Fascinating History is to be had with ranks higher than a 4 Star General (In the US, at least). The rank of General of the Armies is higher rank wise than a 5 Star Officer (General of the Army/Fleet Admiral). Although no official insignia was made for General of the Armies, it was debated if 6 stars could have been worn if the appointed Officer wanted to. Recently, 137 years after his death, Ulysses S. Grant was also posthumously granted the rank of General of the Armies in December 2022 to celebrate his 200th Birthday, but it has yet to be officially appointed by President Biden. There was a General of the Army Rank in the post Civil War years, first worn by Grant (a 4 Star insignia). William T. Sherman and Phillip Sheridan wore a new insignia for their appointments to General of the Army; 2 stars with a centered Coat of Arms insignia. General of the Army was phased out with Sheridan's death in 1888. In 1903, Admiral George Dewey was promoted to Admiral of the Navy, the first and only of its kind, as it ceased to exist with Dewey's death. (It would have been equivalent to a 5 Star, but the insignia was 4 Stars with 2 Fowled Anchors placed on the outer stars) General of the Army/Fleet Admiral was reinstated/revised in 1944 with the 5 star insignia. Both were not carried out, either for political reasons (Powell) or other reasons (Schwarzkopf). General Petraeus was also advocated for the 5 Star rank for his leadership in the Iraq Campaign of the Global War on Terror, but he retired as a 4 Star.

I believe the Navy used 5 star rank at least twice

New Alexandria had way more detail than it had any right to. You could fly to any rooftop and it would be fully textured with all of it's own unique architecture and details. Compare that to the pelican flying mission in Halo 4 where if you went out and explored, the only thing you would find is super low detail textures and many objects with no collision. Bungie went the extra mile.

The reason everything was fully textured was because there’s a big pool of possible objectives being randomly assigned to you. The level literally plays out differently every time it’s loaded. New Alexandria is absolutely iconic.

16:20 I like to think that the Ferrex easter egg was more of like Fe = Iron = Found in Blood, which is why Rex was written in Blood.

With the Focus Rifle in firefight on installation 04, the reason you have to option to switch is because when using the monitor you actually briefly have access to the focus rifle when changing forms in forge. I'm assuming the same model of guilty spark is used from forge to firefight thus giving the option to trade, but not obtain the weapon

I also think that Sniper achievement in Infinite is also a reference to Buck’s line to Romeo in ODST at that start of the NMPD HQ mission where he says “Make some noise. I got your back” and I say that bc Romeo has a Sniper. Could be wrong but just something I picked up on

I'm surprised you referenced the hippo thing and not the Elite dialog. If you get a chance to listen to the Elites long enough on Halo CE, I think it was the level everyone is sleeping, one will say "hip, hip hop, hip hop anonymous". I think it's a reference to Big Daddy where they are doing the flash cards learning to read and Rob Schneider's character is trying to pronounce hippopotamus.

About seeing the ceiling in Forge in Halo 4. That is actually Requiem itself. You can see it in Every single level of the Campaign that on the planet. it's even visible in all Spartan Ops missions for the same reason.

Hey guys. I think I have a theory abt the reach glyphs, the winter contingency ones. If you play ce, more specifically assault in the control room. When you walk through the S shaped (best way to describe it) halls. You can see a glyph higher on the walls. The glyphs are very similar, if not the same. I hope y’all can figure something out. I think that maybe the locals found something they couldn’t describe. Aka something forerunner with the same symbol, then they decided to just use the symbol for the outpost. We also know that Reach contained forerunner artifacts. Please respond and lemme know what you think

For the 343 guilty spark weapon swap does any remember the forge mode glitch on the 360 when you spam the human to monitor while shooting ( I think it was the spartan laser because of the charge up ) you would actually fire the focus rife in the monitor form for a spilt second?

I remember doing that once in a game with my friends but nobody else saw it and I was completely unable to replicate it. I'm just glad someone else confirmed it's existence lol

for the cairo station one, i’m pretty sure you can see libya behind the malta station and athens station, you can specifically see benghazi, libya, i could be wrong but it looks very similar.

I was like 14 years old beating the Halo 3 vidmasters to get recon. I was so excited I made a bunch of theater posts saying “I HAZ RECON”. The only other way to get it before the vidmasters (as they actually didn’t come out till 2009 when odst dropped) was to get a featured map, game mode, or photo in the bungie weekly update. One of my friends got recon that way and I was so jealous that I grinded the vidmasters until I got it. Anyway, this was a refreshing video so thank you for the nostalgia

3:13 In Halo 2, Lord Hood has 1 star with slick shoulder boards. In Halo 3 (pictured in the vid), he had the 4 Stars with 4 shoulder board stripes. In H2A, he wears 1 star like in H2, but with four shoulder board stripes, which is funny because it is the Rank Insignia of Captain. In the Halo TV show, he is finally represented with the proper 5 Star insignia of Fleet Admiral.

The hidden/ extra attention to details are what made these games so good. Graphics are the main focus nowadays so there’s less time for small details that make or break a game sadly.

hey rocketsloth! Video idea, Which halo game has the most allies? im curious and wanted to do my own research as well. Maybe even identify the different types like: marine, odst, elite, grunt. May even make my own personal carnage report on if they lived, even give them goofy names. Hope you guys see this and are as curious as I am. (Ps. I wont be counting dead bodies, just the living ones within the levels themselves. I will also be doing my best to keep them alive, to try and see how many I can save, just for fun.)

Fun little Easter egg/detail involving spark. If you go into forge on Halo, reach the Forge world and switch between Spartan and Spark and hold the shoot button as you do. For a split second, you'll shoot a focus rifle shot from your face.

I've been playing Halo almost daily for over two decades, I've read then listened to the novels, and never tire of Halo content. Squad up!

That gun offset in 0:13 just feels cursed. something about the assault rifle looking that thin just feels like something you're not supposed to see

The focus rifle combined the beam rifle and sentinel beam so it’s just fitting

You can see the ceiling of Requiem in most Halo 4 missions, you can see it more clearly in Shutdown

2401 is related to 7 in two ways: it's 7^4 as mentioned in the video AND also the digits add up to seven (2+4+0+1=7)

The Hippo logo is from Wideload Productions, a smaller game company that used Halo CE's engine to create a game called Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without A Pulse. After beating the game once these hippo heads appear throughout the levels, you can walk over them and collect them, as you do audio from the developers starts playing and they talk about how they created the levels, characters, story and more.

The elevator on The Storm is one of my favorite things in all of Halo. I've used that to fight the Scarab since way back in the early years of Halo 3. If you time it right then you can jump from the upper platform to the top of the Scarab. And recently I discovered that you can actually drive a Ghost to the elevator platform and bring it up with you. I actually managed to board the Scarab by boosting off the upper platform with the Ghost and it was honestly one of the coolest things I've ever done in a Halo game!

You can also use that elevator on the Storm with a Mongoose and then jump into the Scarabs WITH the mongoose, I used to do this all the time back then haha Also, Vidmaster is now a Title in Destiny 2

Hey Rocket Sloth in Halo CE on truth and reconciliation if you look at the ammo counter on your ar you will see a little arrow under the ammo count! What does it point to? It points to Captain Keyes! I just now found it!

The halo 2 glitch you mentioned where you didn't die when you were supposed to appears to be MCC wide but I don't know what triggers it because we've gotten it in reach(mcc) and halo 3(mcc) but not halo 2.

I'm surprised so many people seem to not notice that in the Anniversary cutscene before the start of "Sacred Icon", the phantom is flying backwards as it passes the camera.

I will never forget seeing and using the Recon Warthog's on Coldsnap, Extinction, and Big Ass. im sure it was on other maps that are lost to time tho. like there was a metro Mombasa map that had a motorcycle and a remake of Death island in CE PC that also had them just cannot remember the modded map names. anyways not offical yes. modded yes. Just wanted to add that the first time many players had seen the Transport (Recon) warthogs was Halo CE PC. I truly do love that bungie took fans input into their games. edit: bonus, The recon-hog in Halo CE PC, spartans can get in all of the seats. so technically it is superior to the h3 variant XD edit 2: if anyone can help me remember the name of the metro map i am thinking of i would love you. all i remember is there was a motorcycle that had the gun-goose miniguns in it.... there was also gungooses on that map AND there was a secret hidden in the map where you could get out of bounds and pick up a giant "gun" that was just a black rectangle that fired thousands of swords. they were like Broadswords not energy swords. God i loved that gun XD i also believe there were Ferraris on the map too.

One thing you can do in Halo 2 (original, not sure if it was fixed in Anniversary) is climb around Cairo Station in the area you first go outside because the low gravity allows you to get over or around invisible walls.

19:45 Probably already said by someone else but I'm not reading 300+ comments, but in Halo: Reach's Forge mode, when you switch over to the monitor mode and hold down the fire button, the monitor will (very briefly) shoot a focus rifle beam. It seems like a bit of leftover code or something, but it's basically the same beam that Spark had at the end of Halo 3. If you switch back and forth from Spartan and Monitor in Forge mode and hold down fire, you can actually engage the beam multiple times and you can even hear a Focus Rifle shooting for less than a second.

Acrophobia does actually disable the falling death timer, so all you really revealed is that there are no kill barriers where you fell.

Another interesting detail that nobody else seems to remember but me but in the 360 version of Reach if you fired a fully automatic weapon for awhile and swapped to monitor mode in Forge you very briefly fire a beam rifle suggesting the “shoot” trigger would’ve fired a laser but was cut. Never heard mention of this but I tested it several times on 360 and it worked.

Here is Something interesting, not about the games for say, but just in General. Although being seen Heavily in Halo 2, The Brute/Elite Honor Guards were never made in Action figure Form. Although Mcfarlane toys owned the halo line up until 2015, making figures from all mainline games, they never made any Version of the honor Guards, or the high counselors. This also goes for the other companies that made Halo action figures, Including Joyride, Mattel, and Jazwares. The only form we have is a (practically lego halo) Mega bloks figure, usually found in poly bags, or very rare sets. These are very sought after as they are almost the only merchandise we have of the Honor guards.

The reason why on reach it asks to swap the focus rifle is because the 343 model (character itself) has a focus rifle built in. in forge even tho you can't shoot as 343 if you shoot auto as spartan and quickly switch to 343 you'll actually shoot the laser out of his eye. why wasn't this in the list!

18:47 something that amused me about the memorial scene is that they have 117 scratched in, next a rank insignia found on the navy's dress blue uniform. people may guess that that's the emblem for a master chief, and they would be partially correct, but more accurately, it's the rank insignia of THE master chief. not John, but the MCPON: Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. there is only one of them in the entire navy, and they are the highest ranking enlisted member of the navy. this is not a title John would actually hold, as the position itself is that of an advisor, reporting directly to the CNO, the Chief of Naval Operations (who, at the time, was Lord Hood.)

Lord Hood's rank is easily explained. The rank of Fleet Admiral is a wartime rank in the United States Navy. It has only ever been held by four sailors - William Leahy, Ernest King, Chester Nimitz, and William Halsey - during WWII . It is a unique rank with unique criteria surrounding its use. Therefore, it is very likely that the UNSC does not have a five-star Fleet Admiral rank, but rather uses Fleet Admiral as a title for the Chief of Naval Operations during combined fleet operations such as the Battle of Earth.

I don't know if this has been covered yet but the Halo 2 map Foundation is based on a multiplayer map from Marathon 2: Durandal called Thunderdome. They are exactly the same in every way to the point where you could just call Foundation a more graphically upgraded version of Thunderdome.

You mentioned the Magnetic Accelerator Cannon space stations from Halo 2 are named “Malta”, “Athens”, and “Cairo” because they are in geosynchronous orbit above these respective regions. As I understand it, and if you look at halopedia, the multiplayers from 4 onwards are all just scanned locations used as training sims for spartans. Some times they're tweaked so as to act as better competitive arenas, but for the most part they're all "real" locations like how we see ivory tower on Reach. Forge Island is one such scanned location that was located on Requiem by the Infinity and added to the war games sims. Here's what halopedia has to say: "Forge Island is set in a peninsula to the southwest of Requiem's smallest continent, referred to by UNSC Infinity science teams as the 'Great Anvils'. The geological data gathered from this area is used by Infinity Science's Forge group to help set up custom War Games scenarios, gaining the designation War Games Map_Set/: 230-1."

_Vidmaster_ is also a title one can earn in _Destiny 2_ by completing all challenges for a dungeon that is part of Bungee’s 30th anniversary content.

So the thing about guilty spark and the focus rifle. I found this out as a kid and to this day I have no idea if the wider community knows about it. But in forge in Halo Reach, (at least on the original 360) if you held the fire button and kept spamming in and out of monitor mode, you could fire short beams of a focus rifle as if the monitor had a weapon equipped. I have no idea why this was the case, but it may explain why on the firefight level there is an option to "switch weapons" with guilty spark, even though you can't. I guess the monitor's beams in the old games do kinda resemble focus beams.

Second comment of the day. @ 24:00 you mention the bomb in crows nest is just a reused asset of a fuel tank. you are 100% correct. i would just like to point out it is VERY similar to the Bomb device used in the Tv Series Stargate SG-1. in the Cheyenne mountain military complex they have a self-destruct mechanisms for emergencies. the bomb in halo 3 is almost identical to the bomb device shown in SG1.
