No words to describe the genius of this man and how sorely he is missed ❤ I write this on 13.04.2023, Hitch would have celebrated his 74th birthday today
i could listen to Hitch read anything, like Morgan Freeman, what a voice.

15:34 This is even more wonderful and poetic in the original.
I cannot thank enough the uploader. As much of Hitchens as ive read, he never mentioned Wilfred Owen, but this - THIS - got me there, and now i can and forever will he able yo recite it.
Thank you for the work you put in to make this compilation. Thank you.
Thank you for making this video. What a spectacular compilation of a truly remarkable man. A thoroughly enjoyable watch!

He doesn't really have the metre at all. And I think I spotted Maggie.
14:48 "we never thought, I think many of us, how soon we'd have to earn this great title of honor for ourselves... but we were warned."
Thanks for the upload I wish he was still around I'd love to hear what he'd say about the state of play now .
Excellent mix. Thank you
Master rhetorician and polymath, there is only one Hitchens, my inspiration, my hero I love Christopher he lives 4ever.
Thank you for this. Perfect.
brilliant collection!
Thank the Hitches parents that they did what they did at the time they did it(you know what i mean) to give us the ability to watch him again and again in the here and now.❤
Lulz! Oh, Hitch... I miss ya, buddy. :-(
Wonderful thanks!
minus the volume going from whispering to yelling, awesome!

Google "Hitchens on the twentieth century." If you mean the play, it is "Der aufthaltsame Aufstieg des Arturo Ui" in some translation.

3:58 That lady has a strange voice and also doesn't get the joke.
Does anyone remember the pacifism poem he read ones, it's on the tip of my tongue, by St Edna or someone with St in the name it goes something something I will do not for death
Hitchens, unlike Auden never resolved his ambivalence politically or sexually.

He didn't appear to like a total answer to anything he seems to have been able to handle the constant change that other humans appear to be very afraid of.
THE ENGLISH UNPURE I BELIEVE THIS MAN SUIDAE NICE COMEDIAN AND GOOD JOCKER.AND THOSE WHO LAUGH,BELONGS TO FARROW DULLARD.(FROM.A.RICHARD PAUL CHAUDARY.PREACHER AND POET.INDIAN
Is this somehow supposed to make Hitchens appear "intelligent"? Oh brother.

Well, it does make him look very intelligent mate. Make a compilation of you reciting poetry scotty boy and we can judge how smart you are
This is not poetry. Limericks are a type of rhyme and these are rhymes for dirty old men.

They are quite literally defined as a form of humorous poem. Are poems not poetry? Are circles not shapes? Are cats not felines? What a terribly silly thing to say.
this is a very disappointing video
