If you have the Ley-Energy Matter Converter you can sometimes buy bags of Obsidian for 25 of the HoT map currencies. Containing either 3, 5 or 10 Obsidian Shards.

Content suggestion from my newbie experience: I needed ritualist ascended armor set and ascended viper weapons but crafting them is so expensive for my broke character. What i did is that luckily i got ascended armor boxes loot from wvw and world boses (teq and triple trouble) + 3 in wizards vault they have different stats unfortunately. So what i did is to farm and craft the exotic insignia and inscriptions then i changed the stats in mystic forge. I am now have ascended set skipping the costly ascended materials for crafting (not to mention daily restrictions). The excess ascended items from random ascended chest i just savlage them using the the research salvage to get 500+ research notes

Congratz on your ascended set man. I will be posting a video soon on how to get Ascended set efficiently, and crafting is NOT one of them. I suggest save some of your ascended pieces, and dont salvage all of them for research notes, you might need them for other characters. Only do it if you have an excess

well you can get them faster than you can propably get the armor pieces but you have to start them early enough

So they are buy only?

Fastest way research notes and wizards tower note this verry costly but its currently unlimited

Don't forget the Provisioned Tokens can be used to obtain the Gift of Battle item used in crafting Gen 1 legendary weapons without doing WvW reward track (even though is more profitable and more fun doing wvw content in the long run I'll get it from both methods regardless 😉) But yeah, great video and congratulations for your new milestone in subs 👏😎.
