i’d love to see a “picking back up series i’ve started” video!! it’ll give you an excuse to pick up second books in a series you started and liked but didn’t necessarily know when you’d continue with i.e. Harrow the Ninth, Parable of the Talents, A Closed and Common Orbit, Court of Wanderers, etc.

I think I’d definitely want to know how long my string was if only for practical reasons. Like, if I’m gonna die fairly soon then there’s no reason to plan for the future instead of just doing everything I want immediately regardless of the detriment to the future

I would 100% want to know the length of my string. I’m an INTJ, I need to be prepared! Also for me, it would reduce a lot of stress and anxiety, like if I knew I was going to die at age 62 then the faint background worries of being hit by a car or getting cancer in my 40s and leaving my young kids motherless, would be gone-or if I knew I was going to die at 42 I could prepare my young kids so losing me hopefully wouldn’t be as traumatic.

People will find *anything* to get worked up over. People get out of sorts over how many books you've read?? smh Things just get stranger and stranger. I love seeing high numbers like this :) I'm the first one saying to myself "Dang, I only read 5 books in March" but it's just a fun thought. I love following high volume readers; it makes for so many great book reviews. Anyway, great video. I'm new here and have only seen a couple of your videos but have subscribed today. I so enjoyed this one, and I am *thrilled* to have been introduced to _The Measure_ I find that concept fascinating!! I literally paused the video, went to purchase the book and came back now to finish the video.

Idk if this would be a nightmare to figure out but maybe you could organize a wrap up by starting with one book and recommending one of the remaining books to a character in the first book. So an example from my March reads: My Last Innocent Year by Daisy Alpert Florin has a main character, Isabel, who enters an affair with her professor in the wake of other trauma. It’s a coming of age story. I’d recommend to Isabel Bounjour Tristesse by Francoise Sagan, which is also a coming of age story where the main character, Cecile, has fraught relationships with the adults around her. To Cecile I’d recommend Everything I Know about Love by Dolly Alderton. And so on

I read The Memory Police in the beginning of 2022 and I gave it 3 stars, but I think of it often and I can't get rid of it cause' it has a special place in my heart. Maybe it's more of a 4 star read, a book that grow on you with time.

I'm so glad you loved Vera Wong! It wasn't a perfect 5 star for me, but it was my favorite book of the month. I'm so happy you picked this as a book club book because I don't think I would've read it otherwise since cozy mysteries don't usually work for me. It was a delight.

I think a marathon is actually the best way to consume them! There's a lot of moving parts and characters that it's easy to forget book to book if you're waiting months in between!

  • @lisalajmo597

I felt the exact same about this installment of Finlay Donovan! It made me remember how much I enjoyed the first book and forget the two flops in between. I also feel like this wrapped up the overall plot and character development… so, yeah, I also will not be reading any subsequent books that come out. This ended on a high note for me. 😊

kayla!! as an empath i always want the people i like to be enjoying themselves, so maybe one way you can do wrap-ups is by only talking about the books you haven't vlogged?? and then maybe give your ratings for the books you did vlog without further review. i feel like you might have tried this concept before and maybe it's too similar to your quarterly wrap up, but it might make the process of filming these monthly wrap-ups more enjoyable

If you are able to visualize descriptions in horror, I recommend Hell Followed With Us. It's YA, but I read it for the Trans Rights Readathon and really loved it. I think it would have been even better if I was able to truly visualize the descriptions, but I rarely do that well with books.
