Barberry is highly invasive and prime tick habitat. Butterfly bush is also invasive in some zones.

Thank you for highlighting these important points. Indeed, Barberry and Butterfly Bush can be invasive in certain areas and may not be the best choice for every garden, especially considering Barberry's association with tick habitats. It's crucial for gardeners to consider local environmental impacts and choose plants that are friendly to their specific ecosystems. Opting for native plants or seeking non-invasive alternatives can be a more sustainable choice. If you have suggestions for non-invasive plants that work well in your area, please share them with our community. Your input is invaluable in helping us all make more informed gardening decisions.

I did not know that about barberry. We have a few and just trim them back each fall.

Hello. I enjoyed your video. You stated Forsythia is hardy to Zone 10. I have tried to find one for Zone 10. I can't find one. Can you help? Please. Thank you.😇

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for your interest in Forsythia! It’s great for adding vibrant color to your garden. I apologize for the confusion, but Forsythia typically thrives best in Zones 5 through 8. It might struggle in the heat of Zone 10. However, if you are set on Forsythia, you might consider planting it in a shaded area or using a variety that is slightly more heat tolerant, though these can be hard to find. Alternatively, you could explore other vibrant, heat-tolerant plants like Lantana, Bougainvillea, or Hibiscus, which are beautiful and thrive in warmer zones. Hope this helps, and happy gardening! 🌼

These are mostly nonnative plants, many are invasives.

Thanks for the video. Most of these won't grow in 9B unless you have a shady yard. Boo hoo.
