25,000 LEDs Illuminate The San Francisco Bay Bridge | The Bay Lights

Ғылым және технология

The Bay Lights project on the San Francisco Bay Bridge is the world's largest LED sculpture thanks to artist Leo Villareal and his custom algorithms that ensure the patterns won't repeat for two years.

There's no such thing as "wasting energy". Energy is infinite, and constantly moving. We simply harness it for a little while. Besides, this is a beautiful work of art... that's priceless.

Beautifully stunning. I stood in the rain to see the Bay Bridge's LED debut. It presents the Bay Bridge in a whole new light and draws attention to this incredible man made structure.

I feel so fortunate to live on Treasure Island and see this gorgeous display every night. We all need more things in the world that just makes you smile. I hope it stays, it's very iconic.

Wish I was there, nice crowd too! I was in the bay area maybe 3 months ago and heard about this. Nevertheless, I shall return. Bridges have their own mystique, and the fact that LED lights were added truly makes the bay bridge one-of-a-kind :D

Very nice. Colored lights would be cool for holdays or special events. But still beautiful! As a previous poster said, we need more beauty in an increasingly ugly world. Thanks for the light.

The Bay Bridge has a $6 toll to go over it. So 5 cars pay for the entire night. The bridge has about 250,000 commuters drive over it every day.

Dope. If 5 cars pay for the entire night. Who pays the wages of the person going to the electric company to pay the bill and who pays to collect the toll from motorists who pay by card. The actual bridge is not paid off yet either. Your claim is ridiculous, troggy !

Lol, yes it does. If a certain measure of energy is 10 dollars, for example we'll say, then if it only costs 30 a night to run, it's barely costing anything. Why do you think your electric bill fluctuates with usage every month?
