I'm curious if you could have just left the exhaust housing on the truck and remove the clamp between the exhaust housings and the Turbo?

Was you getting any white smoke out the exhaust from oil leaking in turbo thanks trying to see if that is my issue

I didnt see any smoke, but I also don't think mine was leaking bad enough to see it. If it was leaking worse there may have been smoke. Generally from what I've read smoke out the exhaust, like a haze, is usually related to a bad or leaking injector.

Thanks for reply my turbine shaft is tight but there was oil in the turbo inlet also found oil in the intake horn no wight smoke at start up but when runs a few minutes it starts to haze then with throttle is pretty think

I'd start with looking at injectors, but I'm also pretty inexperienced with these trucks still. I'm just learning and post as I have stuff come up, and luckily I havent had that issue yet. Best of luck man and let me know if you figure it out

Curious why did you pick this one over the mahle/ clevite. I have to change mine out and both are on their website.

I’m going to do this soon. Thanks for the video. Believe what he was saying. When u installed the cartridge, on the intake side. Did you put a o-ring, like the big red ring on the cartridge on the intake side? (Internal) If not, take the intake tube off and you will most likely have an oil leak. Need to have that o-ring, so it doesn’t leak oil into the intake tube. Hope this helps.

@@RETIREDTOOSOONQUESTIONMARK I looked into this some more, and that o ring is internal to the cartridge. Because i bought mine preassebled that ring is already in there. No reason to pull it apart. The o ring kit I got was for a full rebuild, not specifically for just a cartridge replacement.

Thanks for the reply and added info. I was referring to the o-ring on the big side of the cartridge. Did the cartridge come with an o-ring and/or other gaskets?

What brand was the inner and is it still going strong

It was rotofab off rockauto, and yes, it is still good to go
