Nice EDC! I was surprised to see that you don’t have a CH751 or a C415A, those two alone open almost half of all wafer locks. Even though jigglers will do it as well, in your latest video (as of writing this comment) you pointed out that they can be noisy. Being able to instantly open half of all wafer locks with zero suspicion makes them worth it to carry for me.

Awesome thanks for sharing. I have carried a ghost pro kit from mad bobs for a few years now every day along with an HPC warded pick set. I have some sort of hostage escape card, sparrows mace picks, some other cheap finger picks, and my key decoders in the wallet. On my key ring I have a more variety, CH751, some otis and dover keys, FEO K1, GE B135a. I could probably ditch a lot of gear but it's faster sometimes to just use the right key. I also have more junk close by.

I find the Sparrows EOD kit with a few extras fits easily in a pants pocket. That's been my EDC for awhile now.

Nice edc man! It's pretty similar to the one I built a while back. The RF detector bit is very nifty; might need to add to mine. I have the one from proxgrind and it never occurred to me to just attach it. Might also add an American bypass driver if I start to run into more of those as well.

Nice setup. That key holder is pretty awesome.

a hank is another priceless piece of gear. so many cleaning and sound dampening options

Appreciate the jiggler tips. Very useful for a beginner like myself.

It looked like you sacrificed a mini knife. I feel the peterson mini knife is over priced considering a bag of 25 12” stainless steel zip ties is only $5. They’re 0.009 thick stainless where the peterson mini is 0.006. Even though the zip tie is slightly thicker it still works fine for decoding and bypassing master locks. As well as each zip tie last way longer than any peterson mini has lasted me. Dont get me wrong the mini knife has its place, but for me its just not sturdy enough for edc. I carry a starrett 166c with a zip tie cut the 3.5” with a sharper taper than the mini on both ends so it can be flipped around if one side becomes damaged.

Steel banding used used to secure products on skids/pallets are typically Stainless or spring steel. A lot of times 3/4 or 1/2 wide and 0.040, 0.030 or 0.020 thick. After tumbling picks end up just about right thickness. If use 0.040 Banding a palm sander works pretty well to thin material, then tumble. You can buy 100’ of 3/4 x 0.20, 1/2 x 0.020, or 1/2 x 0.015 stainless banding for around $30.

What do you think of the SWICK? it's very similar to your covert companion but it's got a built in slot for tension tools, and it lacks bypass options and instead has a variety of picks.

@@rolls_8798 Lol yup. He runs the website, and does the product demo videos on the Covert Instruments YT channel. Not sure what else he does, but the work is probably split between him and LPL (as well as whoever actually makes the products, obviously lol).

I think I’ve heard that the Southern Specialties ones are especially good. I think SouthOrd has decent ones too.

It is a bad idea to carry lock picking tools every day. If you are law abiding you certainly won't need them unless working as a locksmith etc that day. If your kit is spotted or you are questioned by police just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time you could draw massive suspicion to yourself - like possibly enough to subpoena your records and get a warrant to search your premises in a worst case.

It is not illegal to possess lockpicks where I live (and it's the same for many other US States too). Police may question you and detain you (which they can do to anyone anywhere) but without corroborating evidence they can't do anything else.

@@P_RO_ Not true. You do not want to get on a suspect list. They can surveil and investigate you. Interview your associates. I certainly would not want my name in any police report anywhere with the footnote that I say I carry lock picks every day. What happens when a jewelry store a year later gets burgled and the locks were picked -- think they might investigate by searching their records for "lock picker"? I like locksport. Occasionally I can help a friend who locked themself out. But why on earth would I have lock picks on my person everyday? Please explain. How does that look to a detective?

@@tjbeep Not true? Then tell everyone what the laws are where I live to prove that- but you can't. As a matter of fact, more than just being allowed to possess picks here as a citizen I am given further specific exemption because I legally use them in my work. What you're suggesting is absurd, for otherwise every carpenter near by a housebreaking would become a suspect simply for having a crowbar, which most carpenters do. I don't know how it is where you're at but it seems to me that you're getting your legal knowledge from TV shows, because it doesn't work like the way you think it does IRL. I make it a point to be able to prove my location and actions anytime I leave my own home so I need to fear nothing; in fact I might be able to provide evidence to help the police catch the perpetrator- I've done that and will continue to do that, and once it was my evidence which was the key in letting them solve a case. I have nothing to fear but you do.

@@tjbeep really dude? Are you nuts? They’re gonna bring out their surveillance teams spend thousands of dollars in time and resources because they know you have some lock picks? You’re out there bud, don’t be so paranoid. I have a crowbar in the toolbox of my truck too, I guess I’m on the suspect list for multiple b&e’s.
