24 hrs as a Doctor with a Newborn | Geriatrics Out Patient
Hi everyone! This week has been mainly outpatient work which has been pretty nice. I'm not responsible for calls on this rotation so its nice to be able to just come home, relax, and hang out with the family. A lot of people are worried that when they become a physician - their life would be consumed by medicine. That they would not have time for a family. There are obviously good days and bad days but I just wanted to show you that you can make it work. Hope you all enjoy!

Along with my youtube videos, my friends still post regularly - they give great advice and vivid personal experiences. I think you all would really enjoy it. ellensburgdiningclub.wordpres...

In my final year I was doing a rotation with this middle aged female attending. She told me I must forget about marriage and kids if I want to be in this profession. She scared and scarred me 😅 Thanks a lot for making these videos 🙏🏼
What an absolute boss.

Hi Jenny, thank you for this interesting look into your life as a physician and a mom! You make it look easy, although I know that it's really not. I'm a 3rd year surgical resident and I'm just barely keeping it all together, and that's without a child! It's inspiring to know that it can be done!

+whitedot My outpatient schedule is much more lax than a surgery schedule but I still believe it can be done! I'm going to try to do another one of these videos once I start my surgery and inpatient service

Hats off to you, mama, for balancing it all so well. I will be working my dissertation with a newborn, and you give me hope and inspiration that these things CAN be done. Great job!!
I subscribed after you said something along the lines of "life is all about getting shit done" I like that. Great content!
I love this so much! Thank you for giving such a thorough overview of your routine and not hiding the reality of balancing motherhood with a rigorous career. I know this will come in handy in a few years for me and is already so insightful.
Jenny, you are a real superwoman. Im amased by you every time. you are still a med student, you are a mother, a wife, and a woman with youre own life. You are such an insperation for me and Im sure that for most of us who watches your videos! :)

+Nicole That's a great idea!! I'll try to convince him but he hates being on camera 😔
Thank you so much for showing that it can be done, but also for keeping it real in your videos. Please do more videos like this (that show a physician's life doesn't have to be consumed by medicine). But of course, also take some time off for yourself and your family by pretending youtube doesn't exist!

I'm honestly AMAZED at how much time your finding for family life. I just graduated residency and I don't remember it all feeling so relaxed. I don't know how I would have had a newborn and study for step 3 let alone board licensure exams that are to come in the future years for you so Great job!
This is precious. You go girl!
Super excited to see more videos like these!

You are amazing.
I love love this video since it showed how to balance everything in your life. I always wanted to be a doctor but I recently thought you can't be a doctor and have a family the same time so I wanted to go for Pa but now looking at u it's shows that everything is possible you just have to sacrifice little things like sleep and etc. Aww your husband takes care of the cutie pie while you're gone. If for instance Stan had work where he couldn't work from home who would take care of the baby?
