When I visited in 2009 I went to all of those, the observatory was excellent. They had the large telescope positioned on Saturn for everyone to view. The Getty was also good.

LA is a totally different vibe than NYC. You need transportation for one - like a car - and while it's a must to hit the Hollywood area for tourists, there's a lot to see that's not as easy to walk/use public transport to get to. NYC is made for walking and so everything to see is either in close distance or easy to get to. But 24 hours in LA you're gonna need a car and a plan!

(Definitely suggest this especially for cheap food) Fashion District 5. Lil Tokyo ( little pricey but might find a few cheap bakery) 6. SWAMP MEETS !!! they are Mexican indoor/outdoor areas where people sell food and clothes a lot of LA Mexican culture is there you will find a lot things!!! suggest this 7. Olvera street basically a plaza which resembles a tiny version of Mexico very cool has alot of culture That's really all i got off the top of my head but ALSO you are going to very expensive stores, everyone is LA knows how pricey things are so we go to 99cent stores, food for less, ALDIS, dollar tree and dollar general if you go to the places like that you will definitely get a lot of cheap food hope u take this advice !!!

Hollywood was really disappointing when we went but the bus tour was good and would have shown you some other things to do.

While the sun was still out, you should've went to Santa Monica / Pier instead of swimming at the hotel pool 😅. I spent a weekend in LA and it was fun , I had friends there, so maybe that was what made the difference.

Just a little advice for anyone visiting LA basically the only areas not really worth visiting are downtown and Hollywood and if you want cheap food find any of the taco street vendors that are just on the sidewalk they're often decently cheaper than taco trucks

There is a lot more to do there, you need more than 24 hours in LA. More like 7 days minimum as I've been to LA myself.... Although i didn't venture to downtown LA. Should have went to the beach, the observatory, went to the hollywood sign and took in the views from up there. There is a lot more to do, like the guy said you need to look a little more. Also it depends on what you want out of LA, the more you put in, the more you get out. I do have to say its better with people you know also.

To say LA isn’t good isn’t really a fair statement to make when you are doing a $100 for 24 hour challenge. Had you just explored the city without the strict budget you could have done the bus tour or done a studio tour or Disney or Universal or clubbing.

Not much in Downtown due to homelessness and the crime/fentanyl/ice everywhere. Was disappointed in hollywood and DTLA when visiting from Australia. Santa Monica and West Hollywood were more pumping ..you definitely need money to do anything if not near the beach

Toba. Santa Monica is where it's at, also you're in Cali Baby! So there's In N Out. Dodger Stadium is cool as well although it would've eaten into your $100 Budget, and you totally could've slept on the Beach and saved on Accommodation! Lol

Tbh anyone complaining about him not finding anything to do, if you're from London let alone England, theres so much you can do in one day. So no wonder you'd be dissapointed. In London alone you can do like 5 enormous, very presitigous museums in just one day. There's happy hours every day in places like camden and bethnal green, like 2 cocktails for 12 quid everywhere. LA seems awesome if you have money but shit if not.

Yeah, LA is too spread out to enjoy in 24 hours. If you don't have a car, you're kind of confined to where you are unless you uber. There's plenty to do but, it adds up quickly so, your 24-hour challenge isn't ideal there. Glad you got see it, but you need to do the 5-day challenge there. Peace
