Technically you made a Quinzee, be careful the best safe way to do it is to create your compact snow pile the day before you wanna sleep in it (so it freezes overnight) after you carve from the inside like you did. Safe thing to do also is putting small wooden sticks through the roof so you see when to stop shoveling inside. One great trick is to use a single candle inside so it creates humidity and freezes the inside wall also. You use your bag to cover the entrance and you can sleep at 0 degrees when its -35 outside. Great video ! Have a good day

Also if you plan on camping in snow for more videos, great thing to do is to have your next morning clothes inside your sleeping bag so they are warm ;) And on long days outside, change socks during the middle of the day if you dont wanna get sick

@@WeedBat Yeah as i said, the next day the snow gets super hard and it's safe to sleep in. If he went on top of his roof before going to sleep, it wouldn't have been as much strong. It's still a really nice thing to do, but if you're planning on sleeping with multiple people, you need great structure. I did once with 10 persons, it was huge. And maybe 5-6 with just a couple of people.

If you're going to be sleeping in the snow again, you need to get yourself a steel water bottle, one you can boil water in. Just before bed fill it, heat it, then wrap it in a shirt or something and put it in your sleeping bag. Keep it by your feet and it'll keep them warm for most of the night. A thirty hour emergency candle or a candle lantern in your Quinzee would also help to keep the worst of the chill off. Also try to keep a bit of wood for the morning, if you get overly chilled you'll be endlessly glad for a morning fire Lastly, directly before bed eat something fatty with protein (like a snickers bar) the digestion will keep you warmer.

Great stuff! You are doing great in the snow! Some tips; If you can, you want to raise to the floor in the “iglo” (the cold air is on the bottom. For your lighter, BIC is the best, but remove the child proof ring from the top, since with cold hand, you can not use it otherwise (just lift it up with knife or screwdriver and it pops out) and last, when sitting by the fire, put some pine under your feet, to keep the cold out. Keep it up and feel free to stay in Europe a little while! Can highly recommend the Nordics, specially Finland 👍 And yes, Goulash is great outdoors!

One big tip when srviving in the snow and making shelters like these is dont make ur entrance larger than ur backpack. If you make it abit smaler you can use the backpack as a sort off door and generate abitr of warmth inside, but remember to have a small opening for fresh air. This will also shield from eventuall wind and snow

I grew up in Canada at higher elevations so i have built dozens of snow shelters, if get is your first attempt well done. If you make a door or even a half door you can stay warm a candle or 2
