I grew up in this area in the 80's and 90's, and my Dad loved coming here for dinner and a slice of pie. Driving out to Iowa 80 was so much of my Dad's persona, that after he passed, and we decided to memorialize a park bench in his honor, we included the quote you see at the 1:25 mark on his plaque: "Smile, the open road is just ahead." Miss you, Dad.

They have them also in Tractor Supply Whatehouse as well my friend.

Can’t believe your out at that truck stop. Back when I drove entertainers around in those fancy busses I stopped there a lot. Huge isn’t it? You be safe wherever your headed.

Its been over 20 years since I was there at the I80 truckstop. I wasn't really paying much attention to anything but getting something to eat and fuel up. Now with you there I can revisit. You are so sweet❤ and enjoy your videos.

I went to University of Iowa and when I would drive out this was my bathroom/lunch pit stop. There aren't any bathroom options around and I was behind a van with a group of 12 year boys from a soccer team. We both get off at this truck stop and went to McDonald's. It was very funny. The coaches were really embarressed, lol. I don't know if you'll go by but Iowa City is a great little city if you get the chance to stop!

I appreciate that you travel with your pup. I travel with my two medium/large dogs and it’s both a challenge and the best thing ever. I wanted to be part of the dog rescue community, but I also wanted to travel. It definitely requires lots of creative solutions, but it is totally worth it. Love the Iowa 80 Truck Stop. I car camped there for 3 days in 2021 with my pupper Whitley. It’s has everything. We visited the Hoover Presidential library and museum. Very informative and beautiful park on site too. We enjoyed a morning walk and had our lunch on the picnic tables.

I enjoyed stopping there in early June on my way back to Virginia from Calgary. I didnt get to experience everything, but it was amazing! I'll definitely stop again and spend more time. Great video!

Thank you for this video. I have been thinking about a short get away to northern Iowa, once the weather cools down and this truck stop has been on my radar for a while. I subscribed to your channel because I love your energy and upbeat content. Chase has to be living the best doggie retirement, new smells all the time and his human companion is with him most of the time. Thank you for using your time and talents to make a go at bringing your adventures to people that can't get away as much as we would like, because of responsibilities. Well back to work with preparations for laying laminate floors in my last space of the ground floor of my home. Doing the work myself has been strangely satisfying... Thank you.

If you're still there, you should go to Hurts Donuts in Davenport. We stopped there in the way to CO and they have the best donuts!! Also... Definitely get a coffee at Caribou at the I-80 truck stop. We haven't been to the truck museum yet. Maybe someday. Lol.

I accidentally tripped upon this truck stop about 4 years ago. There was a restaurant across the street advertising Mom's Home Cooked Food that was shut down, but I needed gas. I filled up my van and went inside and spent the rest of the day excitedly exploring this incredible world wonder!!! Everything imaginable can be found here, including a dentist or chiropractor. I'm not overly enthused about buffets, but this one was different, everything was fresh and clean. Everything in this truck stop was spotless, including the bathroom. This truck stop would be the perfect man cave!!! It takes a lot to impress me and I was truly impressed!! I was traveling alone so I had the opportunity to look this place over closely. I haven't been back to Iowa since but next time I'm traveling over 80 I'll definitely be stopping!!!
