    Still not technically not native. It's east Asian. My husbands results can back 5 percent east asian native American. And he is white as a ghost red hair and blue eyes. Once he started to dig into his ancestry since he doesn't know his biological father after 6 years of having east asian native American on his ancestry they changed it and totally removed it. Come to find out they found his biological family... His 5th grandmother was a native American and belonged to a tribe near the Appalachians and she was married to single Scottish/German blacksmith. Who came to america to avoid (peasant) persecution from the Africa. Ottoman empire that was taking place in north Africa and eventually ended up in Europe?? I don't know that history to well. But the record keeping is amazing when your white. Had it not been for the Scottish German immigrant marrying the native American and having 7 children we would have never made the connection. These dna corporations are a joke. We damn near gave up trying to find his father. But what we found was so much more fulfilling then finding someone who didn't even want him to begin with. The tribe took in the Scottish German immigrant and made him their own....... Of course he provided blacksmithing and other skills to their trade. They were happy and it's mind bottling the things were told .... Stories are always told by victors and never the peasants.... Or everyday average people just trying to survive.

And, yes that African DNA, came from the slave trade, you had a great great grandparent who was mostly African. Tracey Holland You won’t be able to recognize if someone has Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry from 1 percent of their dna. It’s simply a generalized stereotype barrier you can’t get pass in your head, of what YOU THINK a Jew should look like. In truth, most ethnicities have a broad array of phenotypes and you have to have an acute refined mind to recognize this. I am sure what you recognize as Ashkenazi Jewish could as well just as easily originate from his Spanish or Native American ancestry.

    many people forget that African moors actually conquered and were In charge of Spain for many years lol. Talking centuries. The Africans in charge of spain were both from west Africa north Africa and some a mix of the 2. So not necessarily from slavery actually. Many Europeans who have Spanish in them in Europe today also have traces of African DNA as a result.

  • @GuardianoftheGoldenStool

    @GuardianoftheGoldenStool

    Hodan Ali That’s not true. The majority of the people in charge were a mix breed of Berber North Africans and Arabs from the Middle East. Yes at times there were people who rose to leadership that were born to concubine slave West African mothers and free Berber or Arab fathers, but West Africans were not in charge in Spain or Portugal. Tell the truth. The Mali, Songhay, Kanem-Bornu empires, and the Hausa city states often sold their war captives as slaves to North Africa and Southern Europe. There were times yes, mix breed children rose to leadership of a concubine slave mother and a Berber or Arab father because they were born free because of their father’s status, but the bulk of the people in power were Berbers and Arabs.

  • @hodana8576

    @hodana8576

    @@GuardianoftheGoldenStool original berbers were brown African people firstly...many modern day arabs and even more so north Africans have west African DNA that was also through general trade. Not always through slavery. Many west African empires were already Muslim and therefore could not have been concubines which were only non muslims from my understanding. There were some middle eastern people involved but there are entire texts describing " the moors of Spain " meaning brown / black people. it is clear majority were African, not arabs and there is a distinction.

    Pretty Classic North Mexican numbers. Similar to my Mom's (Sonora). My guess is that the the Spanish-Native mixture took place 1600s-1800. By then the population in the area was pretty much one race. Then intermarrying within that race. That would explain why the numbers are so similar for so many Mexicans from the area. I read that the Senegambian mixture is typical of the early wave of Spanish coming in.

Start with Patterns of Genetic Differentiation in the Iberian peninsula (Bycroft et al) which geographically maps African Admixture using 1500 samples of modern Spaniards with 4 grandparents born in the same area. African Admixture ranges between 6% and 11% everywhere outside the Basque region, Catalonia and Aragon - i.e. the entire Crown of Castile suggesting political correlation. In the Canary Islands the most recent studies show around 25-30% African Admixture with a significant sub Saharan component. What is interesting is the use of the Globetrotter methodology which can estimate how many generations ago the Admixture ocurred. In the northern half of Spain it happened in the 8th century. In the southern in the 13th century and in the Canary Islands in the 16th century, including a senegambian component (presumably slaves). Let me know if you want me to send you the names of other studies to read online.

DNA testing should be the standard in the US for claiming Native American status. I see so many people saying that they are native American using the "blood quantum" test, which isn't a DNA blood test at all, it's basically story telling and nothing more. Did you know what they did in the past that would create more division? That's what we are living by now. All of the Indians were not accounted for. The reason why is because they .recatagorrized the Indians and called them something else, Took away their native tongue. Taught them. Spanish which is a derived from Latin The Latin was..scripted Or. Written in Romania 🇷🇴 which You'll figure it out. That was the European On both sides of the table. After teaching them Spanish. They invented their racism. It was. A practice. And four the. centrys to come they. would be bigots and would. Hate. The.Spanish. Because of being foreign. When they gave it to them in the first place. The point is. that they took someone taught them. Some things. To get them lost..they all. Also, hate 😡 and despise 😡 anything that was here. Before. they came So by getting the Indians lost in the shuffle. They would eradicate the first eventually..and would make themself the first. They are all ready. In control. and. Influence. Most things. On these sides of the world. Like the media it. might be in Mexico. But is. owned by the U.S.

    Hi, I’m also from Jalisco and my grandfather was Spanish on my mothers side. He even had blue eyes and light brown hair. My mothers mother was indigenous (Native American) same with my fathers mother. I’m curious to know what my DNA test says. It’s not that surprising that most Mexicans are native Americans, since the first people of the Americas were Olmec, which were native Americans. The only difference is those Mexico were colonized by the Spanish and the rest were colonized by the British.

    Not everyone in Mexico comes from natives Americans. What I mean by this is that if you have 60 or more percent European most likely your ancestors came from Europe and married native Americans if they did, but most of them came from overseas. My family has blue eyes, blondes hair brown hair family my dad has blue eyes. I have hazel eyes know to be related to Spanish ancestry. I did my research I have not close Spanish ancestors. Mine are colonial and 1700-1800. I have recent Italian form my mothers side. Both my parents lineages are dominated by Spaniards. Just breaks the idea the all Spanish were mixed a lot. That’s not true some Spanish settlers would marry between Spanish settler and even family as in my families case. They were from Nueva Vizcaya now Durango and Chihuahua!

I am pretty sure that the other 5.7% comes from your European/Spanish ancestry. As you look mostly white. Hodan Ali Spain conquered Mexico with them they brought Tons and tons of Africans as slaves. Mexicans were full blooded Indian the Indians mixed with the Africans and Spanish. Now I don't know if that is is the reason why most Mexicans are dark for one indians were already dark so when they mixed with indian, African and Spaniard they still dark. When Spaniards went to Mexico the Indians from Mexico called the spaniards white they had never seen white people so they had to have been white skinned? They taught the Indians Spanish and the Catholic religion so all this Moor mixing I am confused b/c if the Indians said the spaniards were white then why but if they mixed with African blood wouldn't they be darker skinned? I mean I can understand some being very light but there would have to alot of darker complected Spaniards and I don't think there is? I could be wrong but look at the Mexicans or other hispanic countries just by looking at them u can tell they have Indian or more Indian blood in them depending which part of Mexico u come from. although u might be right about the Moors but don't forget that Spain slaved Mexico and brought Tons of Africans with them b/c alot of the Indians kept dying from diseases and sickness that the Spaniards brought so they had to bring African slaves . So maybe his African blood cake from one of those slaves. Let's not forget that Spain. was not innocent they did alot of damage in Mexico

I had a next door neighbor, when I lived in Las Cruces, NM that was from Jalisco and she told me it was a trade port to Mexico, where slaves were brought into the country. From my experience with knowing people from all over the world, those who live in trade ports usually are heavily mixed. Africans were not slaves when they were stolen. They were free people. Also, Spanish people do have some Arab DNA because of the proximity to North Africa that at some point in the colonization of people of color worldwide, they took over North Africa which was originally inhabited by AFRICANS. I love seeing DNA reveals. I think I'll do mine in September. Actually, Mexico runs by a caste system of something like 12 skin tones and the lightest get the best treatment, according to their historical museum.

    Thanks for sharing! The Portuguese and Spanish had the longest history with the African slave trade. England got involved relatively late. Consequently, 90% of the African slave trade went to Latin America, 5% to the US, and then the other 5% to non-Latin American countries like Jamaica. Mexico received almost as much as the USA, but there were more concentrated areas like Veracruz and Guerrero. In other areas, there were smaller amounts and they blended into the overall population very early. Outside of the concentrated areas, the average Mexican is about 3-5% sub-Saharan African. That’s why it sounds like you have a great-great-grandparent who was almost fully African. The second president of Mexico had an African slave mother and a mestizo father. Also, La Bamba is a slave song from Veracruz. Hope this helps to answer your question. Look at some of the casta paintings from colonial Mexico. They are very interesting.

My father (Jaliscense) is 6'1, fair, and green eyed. No one ever pins me as Mexican, yet my family on my dad's side is all Mexican. I urge a caution to all my fellow latinos. I notice that for most of us Latin Americans they can't give us a place in Spain. And yeah your guess that our dna from Spain and Portugal is so far removed for us to have any ties to modern Spaniards is plausible. My guess is that we may be part Sephardic Jewish and the Ashkenazi Jewish that we get might point to it. And I've read that Sephardic Jewish people were more inclined to mix with other ethnicities than Ashkenazi Jewish people. So the Sephardic Jewish dna has gotten so washed out that it is overcome by the Spanish and Portuguese, North African, Arabian, West Asian dna signature. Because it's places where they were after they got kicked out of Spain. It's why I think they give us so much unassigned as Latin Americans. MyHeritage does have Sephardic Jewish samples as well as Mizrahi and Ashkenazi Jewish samples among others, so I do want to test with them. I only got 1.3% Ashkenazi Jewish on mine.

    A lot of silly comments here. The assumption all moors were black isn't true. The Berber people of North Africa are essentially Arab people descended from Arabs who invaded North Africa from Western Asia or Arabia. Some Moors were indeed black. That's because Moors invaded Sub Saharan Africa where they took black slaves. Those black slaves were converted to Islam. Some Moors had varying degrees of Sub Saharan black African blood. But most of the Moors were just Arabs. It is possible many will have small percentages of Sub Saharan black ancestry because the first modern humans emerged from Africa. But it isn't necessarily because of Moorish ancestry or Spanish conquistadors who had black ancestry. The Spanish conquistadors were not black. Juan Garrido was an exception as he was originally a slave taken by Spaniards as a young child in Africa.
