Is the sleeve not an option for you? Bypass is more invasive than the sleeve. Is sleeve not as effective for type 2?

​@@craigchuraman1340 Either gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy-is recommended for people with type 2 diabetes and a BMI of 40+. But the optimal treatment remains unclear and may depend on the severity of the patient's diabetes.

I am set for VSG in the next 45 days. Years ago I had a trainer for powerlifting (eating was still an issue then) and loved it. Would love to spend some serious time in the gym again, but I feel like I ha e no idea what I'm doing. Do you have any good resources on where to find routines?

Im excited for you to start your VSG journey! In the beginning after surgery we recommend waiting at least 6-8 weeks before working out to let your body heal from the surgery. I am on day 7 of my gastric surgery and right now I am not happy. I was 412 then I lost 339 before surgery 84 lbs alone. I put the surgery off for 25yrs. But I need a hip replacement and I have to be a certain weight to do so. And my weight was at a stand still. Now this weight loss journey was rough for me. Not use to having any problems with my stomach. Now Healing process and onward. I cannot do to much exercise because of my hip. At this point the gas is my stomach back with minimal walking. I have other alignment that should subside in this journey. The sagging skin is going to be horrific. Following 3 more surgeries, possibly 4 omg. But I started. I am usually very positive yet I am physically depressed at this point. I want to walk move and be that positive force I have always been. Been Calling more than I ever did. What’s good I am following the protocol according to the doctor directions. Pain is not for me. I will be glad when I can say. This was the best decision of my life. Choices no joke !!!!
