    For years I have used the sanding blocks in my pedicures. As far as the dressers go, one of my cousins had one in a large bathroom as the vanity and the sink was just dropped into it and the top of it was tiled. All of the drawers were storage.. Another cousin of mine had a dresser her in her living room as her TV console. The drawers just held blankets, movies, extra remotes, things like that

    Here’s a tip: those metal hooks that Kathryn painted black for a coat hanger, I installed them inside my shed to hold shovels, rakes, and other yard tools. I wasn’t sure if they would be strong enough to hold the weight but they’ve held up for a few years now! Stronger and cheaper than the racks designed for that purpose.

    I have had dressers in the kitchen/dining area that I kept stuff like potatoes, canned goods, boxed dinners, pasta, etc. It's a portable pantry. It can be a toy box sorted by type and even holds racetracks and awkward items. In the bathroom it's a linen closet, in the garage it's for gardening supplies, seed storage, small tools, extra hoses, boots, etc. It could be a tv stand if you want to get crazy. :)

    I use a 9-drawer triple dresser that I found abandoned when I was 19 (a million years ago) for all kinds of extra storage! It started as my clothes dresser before I inherited my grandmother's antiques. It is solid wood with dovetail joints and is heavy - they just don't make them like it anymore, at least not at an affordable price point! It desperately needs a makeover but it works great for extra kitchen storage of my dish towels, light bulbs, extra meds, craft supplies, and even household hand tools! Right now it's living under the bar end of the island in my small apartment, but it works beautifully in a dining area - and, there, it doubles as a buffet!

    I do a lot of pyrography (wood burning) artwork and that wood burning pen really does come in handy. Keep practicing with it! One tip is you can use the flat sides of the tip for shading. And because you can't change the temp of that pen, in order to make different shades to get different "color" you would have to find ways to cool down the pen before applying it to the wood and adjust how fast you drag the pen to make the shade. I probably didn't explain it that well but hopefully you get the point lol.

  • @hulksta3223

    @hulksta3223

    Жыл бұрын

    @crickett4877 I personally cannot recommend any because I pretty much learned as I went a long. So I was pretty much doing it everyday just experimenting with different tips, fast and slow movements and adjusting the temperature of the pen to get a desired affect. As I became more familiar with techniques, I eventually upgraded to more higher end woodburning machines. The books that I did get were for designs. But I know that there are books available on Amazon for beginners and there's also youtube channels as well.

    Yes! I have made a traditional dresser into something else. I found by a dumpster a nice light weight up right dresser. I couldn’t believe it was real wood and so light to pick up. I needed extra shelves in my bathroom. What I did was of course clean and paint the dresser turned the dresser upside down and attach it to the wall then hang it over my toilet. It was the perfect size, from ceiling to over the tank. I had my husband add shelves and made light weight doors. I had the paint and wood for the shelves, so no cost there. The only thing was the hinges, wood for doors and two magnets to close the doors. Now I keep extra T paper and sundries in it and honest it looks great!😊

    Omg! Resin? Love that idea and I had know idea that Dollar Store carried wood burner tool, and I’m so happy the puppy turned out adorable. I do have an upright dresser that I got almost 30 years ago. Almost the same look as yours, but I used it for all my gift boxes, tissue paper, ribbon, bows, cards. “One Stop” locator no matter the holidays, birthday, shower, wedding…it’s in there. Except for wrapping paper that a whole different story…Vintage 😁 you know what I mean. Thank you so much for the pick me up. Your so Awesome!!

    I 'inherited' a very nice set of dressers(I'm talking dovetail cuts!) over a decade ago from a landlady who passed away. I cherish them, but have never used them for clothes; kitchen appliances, gardening paraphernalia, electronics, etc. I'm actually sitting on one as I type this comment! 😋

    I use my childhood French Provencal dresser as a sideboard in my kitchen. I store baking pans, aprons and cake decorating supplies in the drawers. I use small chest of drawers in place of end tables and store games and blankets in the drawers.

    I have a dresser in my kitchen that I store a variety of things in, including tools and hardware. I also have a long dresser in my dining room that fits under my window, and it stores craft supplies. My grandparents used a wash stand/small dresser in their kitchen and set their microwave on top.
