For years I have used the sanding blocks in my pedicures. As far as the dressers go, one of my cousins had one in a large bathroom as the vanity and the sink was just dropped into it and the top of it was tiled. All of the drawers were storage.. Another cousin of mine had a dresser her in her living room as her TV console. The drawers just held blankets, movies, extra remotes, things like that

He goes tomorrow to a Pulmonary specialist to see if he can have surgery to remove a large hernia removed that's pushing against his right lung. He's on oxygen 24-7 due to Covid damaging his lungs. Thank you in advance. God Bless.

Prayers are powerful medicine and I use it daily. I pray his surgery goes well. Pray more, worry less.
Here’s a tip: those metal hooks that Kathryn painted black for a coat hanger, I installed them inside my shed to hold shovels, rakes, and other yard tools. I wasn’t sure if they would be strong enough to hold the weight but they’ve held up for a few years now! Stronger and cheaper than the racks designed for that purpose.
I love the thrift store dresser makeover, you did an amazing job on it! Lots of great ideas in this video. TFS and don't forget, "You break it, you buy it!" Lol!
My husband still has his dresser from childhood. I’ve used it for clothing but now it’s in our shed. My hubby puts hand tools, screws, power tool attachments, etc.😊 Tfs. You totally rock!🎉🎉🎉
I use one in my foyer for a command center. The drawers hold anything you would take with you out the door. Lotion scarves, my favorite purses to switch out, bags for Aldi. It has helped through all the stages of my children. And no one’s asks for anything anymore
I have had dressers in the kitchen/dining area that I kept stuff like potatoes, canned goods, boxed dinners, pasta, etc. It's a portable pantry. It can be a toy box sorted by type and even holds racetracks and awkward items. In the bathroom it's a linen closet, in the garage it's for gardening supplies, seed storage, small tools, extra hoses, boots, etc. It could be a tv stand if you want to get crazy. :)

I plan on selling my current house and buying another, smaller house, when I retire and if that house doesn't have a pantry, I plan on using an armoire as a pantry.
Another “fabuloso” video! Thank you so much for all you do for us. Love the bloopers at the end. They always make me smile. Glad it’s not just me having the occasional thrift store “adventure”. 😆haha!
I use a 9-drawer triple dresser that I found abandoned when I was 19 (a million years ago) for all kinds of extra storage! It started as my clothes dresser before I inherited my grandmother's antiques. It is solid wood with dovetail joints and is heavy - they just don't make them like it anymore, at least not at an affordable price point! It desperately needs a makeover but it works great for extra kitchen storage of my dish towels, light bulbs, extra meds, craft supplies, and even household hand tools! Right now it's living under the bar end of the island in my small apartment, but it works beautifully in a dining area - and, there, it doubles as a buffet!
I have two antique dressers from my grandmothers attic that I use unconventionally in my home. One is being used as a coffee station and another in our large master bathroom for toiletries. Love your energy and ideas!
There is an older YTber who shows how to do acrylic coat image transfers. Thanks for showing this. It's a nice craft to make a personalized Room Decor or gift to someone special. It'd be nice to memorialize those special pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and to show how much you love the ones still blessing your home. It has a timeless look to it that almost everyone loves.
Hi Kathryn! I would love to see a video about all the throwback DIY projects you've created before that you still use to this day. That would be really interesting to see how each has held up or how you may have improved them!

I just love how your craft room dresser turned out, Kathryn! I also love the resin vase bouquet. It's so pretty. Great video! ❤
Great video! I just wanted to say that epoxy resin is a great crafting tool, BUT, it requires extensive PPE including a full respirator, safety goggles, nitrile gloves, and either industrial ventilation or doing it outside. It's highly toxic!

I have a beautiful dresser from the 60's that was gifted to me and I use it as a TV stand. Its stunning and practical :) I used the drawers for my kiddos PlayStation games and extra cords etc...I absolutely love the piece and enjoy the versatility of it.
I absolutely LOVE the minwax polycrylic! I've used it on stained cabinets and to varnish my acrylic paintings.

I do a lot of pyrography (wood burning) artwork and that wood burning pen really does come in handy. Keep practicing with it! One tip is you can use the flat sides of the tip for shading. And because you can't change the temp of that pen, in order to make different shades to get different "color" you would have to find ways to cool down the pen before applying it to the wood and adjust how fast you drag the pen to make the shade. I probably didn't explain it that well but hopefully you get the point lol.

I just recently bought a wood burning kit, haven't tried it yet but I like the idea of personalizing the bamboo cutting boards. Can you recommend a book or website to get info for a beginner?
@hulksta3223
Жыл бұрын
@crickett4877 I personally cannot recommend any because I pretty much learned as I went a long. So I was pretty much doing it everyday just experimenting with different tips, fast and slow movements and adjusting the temperature of the pen to get a desired affect. As I became more familiar with techniques, I eventually upgraded to more higher end woodburning machines. The books that I did get were for designs. But I know that there are books available on Amazon for beginners and there's also youtube channels as well.
We used to have a dresser in our kitchen. Used it for placemats and basically as a cabinet!
This is a great video, jam-packed with so many ideas and tips, that I'm going to have to watch it again and again! Love the dresser! I have a small dresser that my late Dad refinished many years ago. I think it would look as beautiful as yours turned out!

I covered a tall, white IKEA cabinet with wood-grain Contact paper. So far, a year later, it has held up perfectly and looks so much better with my wood bathroom cabinets than the white I covered. (I downsized into less that 1/2, so I am grateful there was room in the bathroom for this extra storage.)

Awesome video Kathryn!! So many great ideas!! The dresser looked fantastic!! Love the roses in the bowl 💖 I have seen the wood burning tool & thought about it but my hubby would have a heart attack (I'm a little clumsy 🤷) lol I have a dresser that was my parent's & it's over fifty years old. I store games in it. I have my odds & ends like wax melts, leftover hardware from projects, etc. I also store pictures in it. ❤️😊
Happy Tuesday beautiful lady! You are a genius at hacks! I don’t have a dresser not too many space in this old house. Love the cutting board with the pup! You are definitely enough for us. Have a blessed week.
Oh Kathryn! I have to let you know. There were a couple of jaw dropping moments in this video. 1st the Resin! Wow! 2nd was the clean off your paint roller tool! I always wondered what that was for! By the way, if no one has told you today… you are a blessing❤
The dresser looks so nice after designing it w dollar tree items. .loving this !!!

I bought an antique 8 drawer dresser when I moved into a smaller house. It’s in my living room. I use it for a tv stand, and every drawer is full with office supplies, tools, dvds, and table linens. Dressers are my favourite storage and organization piece.
Yes! I have made a traditional dresser into something else. I found by a dumpster a nice light weight up right dresser. I couldn’t believe it was real wood and so light to pick up. I needed extra shelves in my bathroom. What I did was of course clean and paint the dresser turned the dresser upside down and attach it to the wall then hang it over my toilet. It was the perfect size, from ceiling to over the tank. I had my husband add shelves and made light weight doors. I had the paint and wood for the shelves, so no cost there. The only thing was the hinges, wood for doors and two magnets to close the doors. Now I keep extra T paper and sundries in it and honest it looks great!😊

It's quarter till 2 in the morning and the snow has just started falling. There doesn't seem to be a good guess as to how many inches we're going to get. Schools, municipal offices and some businesses have already posted closings. I was feeling pretty bummed. I'm 73 and snow doesn't have the appeal as it did when I was younger. I 'inherited' a very nice set of dressers(I'm talking dovetail cuts!) over a decade ago from a landlady who passed away. I cherish them, but have never used them for clothes; kitchen appliances, gardening paraphernalia, electronics, etc. I'm actually sitting on one as I type this comment! 😋
