I'll never be over that one. If we had a different coach, and the refs would stop making bullshit calls on Holmstrom's net front goals we would have won before game 7. The refs were shit and I absolutely believe Bettman had something to do with it being that it was his little Crosyby's team. The highlight reel of Holmstom being robbed by the refs over his career is ridiculous. It's like a sniper who has 100 confirmed kills but another 80 "unconfirmed" lol

As someone who admittedly cried after that Game 7 loss I’m still not over it. Datsyuk missed the first 4 games and the scheduled the first 3 games screwed Detroit overall. Back to back Stanley cup final games and 3 games in 4 nights?

AWOODs work is 2000% better than NHL and Sportsnet. So glad he's a Wings fan. You can feel the excitnent and emotion through the building like nothing we've seen in years. Everyone rising to the challenge and busting their humps every shift against elite competition. More than worth the price of admission, this team is relentless.

So I watch this on the TNT broadcast and the entire time subjected to Eddie o and his blatant Homer calls. It's like he only sees the good in whatever the penguins or Blackhawks do on the ice. I could count on one hand. How many instances where he actually complemented the Red Wings players and their on ice conduct. It felt very foreign to watch what I thought would be a neutral broadcast and one of the commentators is openly rooting for one of the teams. Totally weird and I'm so grateful to have all of you in this awood community

I noticed that too, it was always bad breaks for the Pens and never good breaks for the Wings. I've long since accepted that until the Red Wings are playoff relevant again national broadcasts will default to acting as a home broadcast for the bigger national market (Pens, Blackhawks, Capitals, etc), but it never gets any less annoying. And that segment where they spent a whole two minutes of play talking about Doc's wife? C'mon fellas, there's a hockey game being played in front of you.

Husso really stepped up in the 3rd!

I honestly don't mind admitting that I think the play was offside, maybe not by definitive evidence, but by common sense. Either way, we are so back! I watch the games and still look forward to these videos every single time. LGRW!!!

Agreed, I absolutely think it was offsides but here's the thing. We were still up by 1, Pittsburgh is a way older team then us, and they were absolutely gassed. We still would have scored within the next 20-30 seconds on the open net.

Any time the Wings, or anyone for that matter, beats Crosby is a sun shiny day. This team looks great, if they can gel like the teams of the late 90’s into 2000’s, “Welcome Home Stanley!”

I know it's early, but the Wings are looking gooooood. Yzerplan is coming together.

TNT couldn’t stop gushing over the Pens, all night. It’s early in the season, but my eyes saw a Pens team that has no depth outside their top 6/top 2. This doesn’t bode well over an 82 game season. Wings didn’t attack most of the 3rd, but that 2nd period was dominant. #LGRW

I was complained about comparing Larkin to Yzzy as captain on this channel. There is no better captain than Yzzy but Larkin is filling his shoes very well with Yzzy's consultance...lol.

Watching that live I was so thankful they didn't call the first empty netter offsides. It looked it by the end, to me! Hockey Gods blesses us with a good one. I love destroying the Pens.

Didn't like the sitting back in the third. They played so well the first two periods and when it was 4-3 it had disaster written all over it. Nice to see them hold on but I was worried.

Completely agree. When it was 4-3 my heart started skipping be until we made it 6-3 and I knew that that was the K.O. punch of this game

People are shitting on Petry for the first two games but here you can really see his skillset. He takes risks and these ones for sure paid off.

the puck was not on his stick when he entered the zone it was a few feet ahead of him. on the following replay you can see him reaching forward to grab it

I love how the people who painted everything black after the season-opening loss to the Devils and criticized players like Husso, Seider & a few others because they only saw the obvious and they didn't make any effort to go into detail, fell silent. Husso certainly didn't have his best game against the Devils, but he can't be held responsible for every goal. There's so much going on in front of the goal/goalies these days, shots are deflected uncontrollably, it can only make them look bad sometimes, even though they've otherwise played a more than solid game. Statistics are part of the story, but statistics don't tell everything. You should have watched the game in its entirety before criticizing players based on the highlights, that's superficial... It's also hard to bear that some people either praise the team to the skies or immediately question their suitability for the league for a poor performance! Is it so difficult to accept in-between times? People need to finally understand how fast hockey has become and that they can quickly get into a dilemma, especially as a defender... they only have two feet and two hands... just take a deep breath and enjoy the season. greetings from Germany to all the Red Wings Fans all over the World 3-1-0 #LGRW

So much for a neutral broadcast. Yet again all the bias is for the team Detroit is playing against. Especially during the game, not sure which guy it was was complaining about the refs for the pens.

Wish they could tune the horn down just a little bit, so it doesn’t sound like Arizona. And I wish I could remove everything after the second blast of the horn from my ears. All of that said… I’m so happy we have a real horn again.
