Bro those two that go from the distributor to the carb are so important! When I first got my truck it had NO POWER, be lucky to get past 30 on a flat road but once my buddy pointed out that it was closed off on the distributor we put lines in and instantly that thing started shredding tires left and right😂

Yes! This distributor must have TWO vacuum lines. Why two? Perhaps to keep it as complicated as everything else attached to this engine. Not an engine as much as it is a Smog Pump...

Can your friend be my friend 🤣 man I've asked many mechanics in my area to solve vacuum lines issue but no one can help with these carburetors. I have only one vacuum line going out the distributor to the carburetor and the other one does not even have a hose. The car has fresh fuel smell coming out of the exhaust.

This is an amazingly detailed presentation. Yours seems to be a California car. The '88 I'm working on is a 49-state. It has no EGR back pressure transducer and only three lines on the fender side of the carburetor.

I haven't done this before (although I really want to) but I believe it's as simple as capping the connectors and adding block plates. This site is a great source of info. www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/22r-egr-removal-49674/
