Absolutely love this tank! Hope you come back to us soon! The reefing community misses you and your content.
Absolutely great to see your reef have a great day looking forward to your next video
Love the euphillia garden!
Ive always been a freshwater tank guy. Currently have a 125 gallon African cichlid tank. Its so easy... Im starting my 3rd attempt at saltwater now. Currently cycling a 10 gallon. First attempt was an all-out 55 gallon rimless with every neptune apex option available, failed to the algae demons. The second attempt was a 10 gallon, failed as soon as i put an anemone in it and it got sucked up into the filter and killed the entire tank overnight... Third rime is the charm. Love your channel... And your tank.
You said you was struggling with nutrients for a while. I had issues with 0 nitrates in my reef tank. I would dose tons of nitrates and the next day it would be gone. Turns out it was my sandbed being so deep it was creating anaerobic bacteria that would suck all my nutrients. I just removed some of the sand to make the sandbed just a inch tall and added more flow to the tank. Issue solved and now my corals are happy again becuase thier getting nutrients
I had the same exact experience with dry rock. KP aquatics premium live rock is the best IMO because it comes from the Florida keys instead of the gulf. Bottled bacteria is only good for establishing a biofilter to process ammonia from fish waste.
I just did the cipro too and it works great!
I hate that I used live rock and got all the little pest. So be thankful you did it the way you did and try to add small pieces of colonized live rocks that are clean of pest. Don’t go grab some super big piece of live rock that can hide lots of pests.
Tampabaysaltwater live rock! Great stuff!
I 💯 agree about using real live rock when starting a new tank. I have only ordered from two places and I would recommend Gulf Live rock.

At least I should’ve put way more in my sump! Can’t wait to see more maturity/stability
I used two small pieces of live rock from my local lfs, until i noticed Aptasis promptly took em out, no major issues so far, even upgraded to a 20 long. I will say a uv sterilizer is a man's best friend, also the rock you do have in tank currently and the sand for that matter, has all the bacteria you're looking for. It also never hurts though to slamm as much bio media as possible in your stump area as well.
Love the hammers. ❤
Do you sell frags ?!tank looks amazing
What were the directions for your Cipro treatment (both outside your main tank and then directly in the tank)?
Where did you get cypro from?
Holy cow she’s alive , nice to finally take a gander at your tank again, don’t worry your doing just fine I’m still battling the dreaded aptasia but your tank still looks awesome 👍🏼

Oh noooo! You have the wrasses right?
Been wondering where you were! So glad to hear you are back and will be uploading more!! Also glad I'm not the only one on the struggle bus with the tank.....I haven't figured out all of my issues yet and so I have renamed my tank the "Glass Box of Death" for the moment....uuugghhh. ❤ reefing lol
I've never had a problem with bottled turbostart900. It cycles stupidly fast and seems to help get things off the ground and maturing a bit faster as far as saturating the rock with a robust culture.

Wild bacteria makes a world of a difference with tanks I’ve come to notice 🥺 Some things you can’t just add in sadly. Everyone’s tank setup is so different though, prob many factors contributing to my tank problems all at once which makes it so much more frustrating !
Thats weird. I have used bottled bacteria with no known issues from it. Mb7 seens to work fir alot of people. Maybe you had some bad bacteria form and take over. I think its s good thing thing to add a little bit every week to keep up on the population
Where do you get cipro?
Amazing video, your corals are so beautiful
Stunning tank i'm now again beating aiptasia ... :-)
I have heard from someone that he cuts his coral's stinging tentacles. He says it doesn't hurt the coral and those tentacles would grow back again and he would cut them again. Maybe try to research this to confirm it and this should hopefully solve your bubble coral problem
Where are you getting Cipro now? I need some and can’t get without Rx now!! Help!
Great video!
That red Goni ❤
i stopped the reef hobby while i finished studying & while passing my board exam. that was 8 years ago. as soon as i passed, i got into looking for another tank. be careful with cipro as it is an antibiotic and will kill beneficial bacteria. adding some live rock along with dry rock i think is the way to go. but, looks like the tank looks good

Yeah definitely wouldn’t have gone with a whole tank cipro unless it was absolutely necessary - and unfortunately this was the case 😢 Live rock is a must moving forward!! Thanks so much
Nice! Glad you are back and that the tank is doing well!

Do you have any for sale
Yay, your back!!!
I did kung fu corals in tank treatment which is a broad-spectrum treatment. It save my tank from a major stn/rtn episode
im sure you have smashed it, nice to see you back, tank looks awsum 😀
I did notice when some of my corals receed like my candy canes its because of higher phosphate levels and when I sort it they puff right back up! So maybe it might be a parameter. Once you know what causes it you can just assess your corals to see what's going on in the tank 🙂

Wish it was easy as that unfortunately, my parameters are looking as normal 😵💫 Just Duncans that are closed up and unhappy too so not sure.

@@QueenofReef yeah its abit hard to tell aye only other things I could think of is stinging or chemical warefare between coral which could be solved by carbon which your probably running anyway
If you see the tentacles at night or during the day, you can just cut them. They will be fine and the bubble will re grow them
Tank looks fantastic! Congrats on surviving the bar exam 🙌

Thank you!! 😁
Tank looks beautiful. I would instead of moving the Monti's specially the green one, just frag a nice size piece from it and place it up front ,low maybe a piece of each together see if they'll graft into one, since they're so happy it should work. All your Rock looks nice and clear of your favorite aptasia.🐟💜💜💜
Where can i buy cipro?

The vid definitely has audio to it! Maybe experiencing a tech issue?
Bottled bacteria may help nitrification, but it does not help create a healthy biome at all. I know this to be fact because after hundreds of dollars of bottled bacteria from a variety of manufactures I had a Biomics test come back in the bottom 3 percentile; yikes.

Hey if you want to clear out a holygrail i wouldnt say no. 😅
Shoot send frags asap please. Lol
Is Christopher Walken your dad? JK... love your vids.
Think about it, it is actually going through new tank syndrome still at this point. Had you at the sign of problems let them, just run their coarse. You would be at different level in the tank being truly cycled. Once we see stuff going bad and we try and stave off death and destruction, we become a Madd Scientist and get our tanks chemistry going wackoooo. Time cures all... Think about it our ocean reefs didn't become reefs over the weekend. just sayn

I think you're right. First thing that came to mind was "new tank syndrome."
@QueenofReef
Жыл бұрын
See that’s my thing though - it’s been two years! Shouldn’t be sitting on the same problems … I’d let things run their course but I don’t want to lose any corals 🥺 I really just think it was the bottled bacteria not establishing the tank correctly
Load your sump with Marine pure!
Keep it Up. Sometimes things happen for no obwious reason.
measurements of your aquarium.
The bar?! You go girl!!! 🤞 Awesome tank, too! Yeah, bottled bacteria doesn’t have the biodiversity that live rock has back in the day… What is zippero?

Hey I can give you a contact if you want some off the best quality live rock from Australia , also I’d do an icp test to improve gonis ; one element they use rapidly is manganese

Talk about clickbait misinformation...
For a lawyer you have terrible deductive reasoning skills. If you think the only thing that you did differently was bottled bacteria, I can't even comprehend... Like you seriously think then. All the problems you just had were because you started with a bottled bacteria. you've added how many quarrels that came from how many different systems that have all sorts of bacteria on them. But you don't blame any of them. For this?
i live how youtubers call their beautiful tanks ugly... lol i have gha and a couple nems🥲
