Us small-time firewood guys dream of these type of customers. Hopefully next fall will have a dump trailer. Doing 6 facecord deliveries to one customer sucks royally. Can't get much of a dumper, the 7,000# class is all my truck can handle as equipped. Many have said get the 10k or 14k trailer, they don't weigh that much more. Those people forget that I'd have to spend big $ to get a truck to handle it.

When you've burnt wood all your life you learn to find wood all year, a lot of ppl wait last minute but I'd rather stay warm than wrestling frozen wood. It's a blessing to see the wood shed always on the full side. Yeah you can't beat yellow or black locust for firewood, you can make a stove walk off with it if you aren't careful, that's some real firewood you got there, and you actually understand a cord of wood, I've never bought or sold much firewood but the scams are out there and ppl end up with 3/4 a cord of green wood.

It burns like coal- ;lots of heat, not much flame. So it's not even very good as campfire wood. Honey locust burns brighter, but as you pointed out- kind of a waste of heat. I ended up with a couple armloads of black locust in a batch of mixed hardwood I got. Initially I thought he'd given me pressure treated lumber! It was that color of green, lol. I was not impressed with it as campfire wood- it mostly just smoldered. Most of it is still kickin around somewhere, buried under the tsunami of wood that came in this year.
