    Thanks for the video! Good to see what kind of accuracy guys are getting! Don't worry about the camera equipment. We want the info, not flashy camera work.

    I don't remember where I saw it, but this helped me. Try a firmer grip on the pistol grip, and try to keep the trigger pinned firmly to the rear during recoil. You will hear it referred to as "follow through." You have to drive gas guns a little different than bolt guns to get super tight groups. Good shooting!

    That's some good advice. When I got down on it for that first round I was finding it kind of hard to get steady, but by the second set I got my wind back and confidence up lol... But no doubt that follow through technique is a good practice something I am going to focus more on because I did notice when I watched the video how I let off the trigger after the shot. Well I didn't like that. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Thank you so much for posting. You’re so right there are so many of us interested and so little info out there. I’m also doing a build and have everything but the barrel. I ordered the 22 and same as yours it has the rifle +1. Think it has to do with the bigger case holding more powder. Really nice grouping with the 88’s. I’m guessing the 7 twist like the heavier bullet. But I’m still pretty new. Precision stuff can be so finicky. Certain bullets liking certain muzzle devices, different seating depths and powder charge weights it’s dizzying. lol Thanks again.

    Your welcome... i plan to do more videos as soon as i make some adjustments to the rifle. Gonna get a better trigger, and a better scope. That Nikon is just temporary. And yea it likes the 88's so far, and I've had some decent groups with the 62's off camera. Its all part of the process just finding what works just like you said theres alot of variables you're so right!... Being a new barrel I've found in the past sometimes but not always the more rounds I get through it I believe the accuracy improves. Once I'm able to get 200-300 rounds through it I'm positive it will be tack driver.

    I think you’re right about accuracy improving with rounds down the pipe👍🏽. Getting it all seasoned in. If you’re making more vids then I’m subscribing! Keep up the good work And yeah a better scope definitely helps. Have you heard of discovery opts? Pretty sweet scope for the price. And a few KZreadrs have codes that can be stacked to save a lot of money.

    @@wildnorthadventures Yes sir I plan to do more accuracy tests, and eventually I'm gonna get a chronograph and test that as well. Also whatever else I come up with... hopefully be able to record some coyote hunts in the future as well... I've never heard of Discovery Optics but I will definitely look into them! Thank you!

    If you reload and you have a chronograph on the list, Garmin Xero C1 pro, yes, is costly, but it is worth every penny for the ease of its use. You don't have to read the owner's manual to get it operating right.

    Yes, I've seen them recently and they are very nice! I would definitely like to have it, but it just depends. If I have to settle I may get the Caldwell chronograph for now, then in the future upgrade to the Garmin. But we will see depending on finance situations at the time. Thank you for your consideration it will be an option I will be weighing for sure!

    Hey for what it's worth I am a gunsmith and sell guns and ammo for a living. You may want to check into if hornady is crimping that new ammo they have been having issues with that lately. If the bullet is pushing back in your case as it loads in the chamber you will get accuracy issues. Have a great day and keep up the testing thanks

  • @Steelrunner

  • @Steelrunner

    @Steelrunner

    2 ай бұрын

    Hornady announced it back in October. It is intended as a predator/varmint and match competition cartridge. They claim that .22 ARC will give ".22-250 performance" from an AR-15. The 62 grain is rated for 3,300 feet per second on the box and the bullet has an extremely high B.C. far more than a .22-250/.223 bullet... Can't wait to get a chronograph on it to test it further.

  • @ninjadave1970

    @Steelrunner I've always thought that a 100gr bullet, pushed out to 3000fps would make a good long distance round in a AR15. One with a high BC ballistic coefficient hollow nose bullet ... I'm going to look into this 22 ARC further and look at the 6mm MAX also ...

  • @Steelrunner

    @Steelrunner

    2 ай бұрын

    @@ninjadave1970 Ah yea I've heard a little about the 6mm MAX. It's basically a supercharged 6mm ARC in terms of velocity from what I understand... I also have a 6MM ARC which is what the 22 ARC is derived from. Both of them come from the 6.5 Grendel though. So anything 22 ARC or 6 ARC you run 6.5 Grendel bolts and magazines.

  • @Steelrunner

    @Steelrunner

    2 ай бұрын

    Yes that is true, but when I first got down on the rifle I felt like I was having some trouble catching my breath and getting settled, by the time I put the 88's in I had caught my breath and just felt better about the shots... Off camera I've had better sets with the 62's. Though you are right the 88's have had tighter groups on and off camera. I think the more i break this barrel in the better they will get... that 62 is moving super fast. I plan to do another video very very soon and do a test solely on the 62's and get a better set..... I do believe you are correct the 88's are definitely tighter so far you are right about that... And thank you so much for your kind words!

  • @trenttaylor3838

    So is the recoil about the same as 5.56 or a little less , doesn't look like that gun is moving much?

  • @Steelrunner

    @Steelrunner

    2 ай бұрын

    This rifle is pretty hefty and I also am using a gamma muzzle brake. The recoil I felt was yea about like 5.56 probably even a little less with the muzzle brake and weight honestly... but if I had to guess if it was down to let's say a 16 inch barrel instead of a 20 inch with just a flash hider I would imagine it would probably be a little snappy. But still manageable.

    Nice paint job on that rifle! What'd you do to get that pattern?

  • @Steelrunner

    @Steelrunner

    2 ай бұрын

    It is an Aero Precision builder set. Every month they have a new cerakoted pattern they release. I'm not sure what month and year they released this specific pattern but when I seen it in stock online I had to have it lol... Check out "Classic Firearms" website and search "Aero builder sets" they have many different designs and color/pattern options available. Palmetto state has recently got into doing this as well you may be able to find one on their website the same way. Both Aero and Palmetto only do so many of them per month. Once they sale out then that's it for that month....Another route you could take is to get just a regular black upper, lower, handgaurd and send it to a cerakote shop and have them put whatever design you would want. Either way it is pricey but very nice!
