Years ago.. when Aztec was off Gulf Bank. I took him some nissan Titan wheels for ny D21. After asking to only cut about .5" into the hub, they cut about 3" in causing holes to show in each and all lug nut bores. The lug nut kinda blocks the view of the hole but still... anyways Great Video, I Liked and Subbed.

Are there inside specific wheels? I understand for a specific application, the answer might change. I've looked for the regular dually wheels and fuel makes a specific inner wheel. But if I go this route (assuming there are no hiccups) can I just buy 6 22.5 x 9 wheels and they are universal, in mounting location? My fear is that I would buy 6 on eBay just to find out that they were super singles and/or there were inners that I needed to buy. If they are super singles, I might just go that route to save money plus I'm okay with the dually super single look. But in general, say that I buy 6, 22.5 x 6.5-7.5 wheels, can I just buy 6? Or do I get 4 and find 2 inners?

Hi Chris! Thanks for the VERY useful information. I'm based in The Netherlands and will do a conversion to 22" (milled 22.5" Alcoa's) on my 1984 GMC C3500 Dually Single Cab. I will work with the original inner steel 16" wheels to keep the cost down. The posts on KZread from Horsepower Depot show/proof that it will work and will look good. 1) Do you know what Alco wheels I should get for the rear outers? The 7.5", 8.25" or the 9"? The tire that Horsepower Depot use after milling them down to 22" is 265/40 22. That would indicate the 9" wide Alco wheel... But I'm not sure... 2) You mention that on the front axle, (almost) anything goes. Would the 9" wide wheel fit and not rub? Most info I find says 8.25" for the front axle... 3) Milling. Is only the wheel core diameter milled down from 22.5" to 22"? Or are the outer lips (that 'hold' the tire on the wheel) also reduced in diameter and or width to fit normal car tires? Thnx in advance for your insights!

@@chriscraft77022 Hi Chris! Thank you for swift reply! Horsepower Depot have uploaded three or four videos 'Lowered 1978 Chevy C30 Dually' in which they lowered the truck 8/6" and put it on milled 22.5" Alcoa's (down to 22"). WMS-WMS is 72" on mine, as far as I know. Its still is CA and will be container-shipped tot Europe in 1-2 weeks... I'm trying to get all information to prevent wasting money. By the way, I found used 22.5" Alcoa's for sale not only in 8.25", but also in 7.5" and 9" width aplenty here. Some in The Netherlands, some in Germany (I'm 15 miles from the German border here...)

well, since you are mentioning them you must think they know more about it than I do. So I suggest you ask them.. when you get the truck and if you still havent figured it out ask me and I will tell you what you need to know. because whatever I say is going to be compared to them. and you will agree with them .. so why ask me anything in the first place?

@@chriscraft77022 I DO NOT think they know more than you. I think you know much more, based on your very detailed and logical expanations in part 1... I just mentioned the truck of Horsepower Depot since its similar/identical to mine and the set/kit they bought fits well and looks good. They just fit it. That's it. You, on the contrary, showed in your three videos that you know what you are doing and got down to the important details... That's why I thought I'd ask you... I do not want to simply order the kit they installed, since I have to ship it to Europe and pay import taxes and VAT and shipping. I prefer to first understand what I'm doing and then buy the correct used wheels & new adapters and build my truck cost effective and on a budget. My goal is to get a nice tuck in the fenders (1/2 to 3/4"' between tire and fender) and max tire width on the front axle withouy any rubbing. From your vids I understand 9" for the rears and 8.25" front axle. Do you have any tips for the milling? Is it only the core diameter that is brought down to 22" or need the outer lips need to be modified too? Thanx in advance for sharing your thoughts...

you need (2) 9.0” steer wheels for the rear outers..the ones I show in part 1 (2) 8.25” standard for the fronts.. they only machine the bead seat down 1/4” do not touch the side wall of the rim.. “dually king” has a video showing how the milled wheels should look like.. “switch suspension” shows it in a video with a white truck..
