63g Sierra stabilize very well in the 14T and 12T -22/250, they kill deer very well. 60g Nosler partitions are awesome killing bullets, and 1.25" groups are about as good as you will get, but that is more than adequate for deer and hogs. 64g Winchester is another excellent bullet for deer and hogs. 55g Hornady SP with the cannelure is a very accurate bullet and I dropped two does in their tracks with the 55g Hornady, and I fill as if this bullet is the toughest of all 55g bullets on the market today in cup and core bullets. I would take neck shots with the Barnes and Hammers. The deer I shot with the 60g Partition looked like they had been shot with a 300 Winchester Mag using a 150g cup and core bullet. I used IMR 4350 with a Win primer with the 60g partitions, and another load with Win 760. You should put the 60g Hornady Sp on the top of the list for the next bullet you try. I bought 500 of the 60g Nosler ballistic tips to try, but I don't know if they will stabalize in my 12 twist rifle which is a 22/250 AI.

The 60 ballistic tip will stabilize in a 1-12 twist. I’ve used a 55gr gameking on deer and they did ok they got full pass through sometimes other times you would find them in the hide on the other side. I shot deer with the hammer and ttsx and the ttsx looked like it was shot with a much larger cartridge. I was very impressed. Copper bullets are all I use for game other than varmints anymore.

I have verified this load over a chrono twice now and got the same speed readings. There are other people out there pushing the 51 absolute hammer to these same velocities in a 22-250 and slightly faster in 22-250 ackley and 22 creedmoor. I wouldn’t say you’d get these velocities from a traditional cup and core bullet but due to the design of the absolute hammer additional speed can be achieved.

My brother's 22-250 Ackley would launch a 60gr v max at just over 3,800fps (chroned and proven drop data out to 600 yds) so if you've been loading for a great many years and have never been able to get a 52gr over 4000 FPS out of an Ackley then you certainly haven't been doing it right!! 7:41

Keep the content coming. A quality controled expansion bullet does way more damage than people think it will. Especially at high speeds. I havenot shot any large hogs with my Savage 22-250 as it is build like yours, target/varmint setup and it doesn't carry well in the woods. But when i am stand hunting, it sure is fun with no recoil and a suppressor to keep it from hurting your ears!

22-250 with a 1/7 twist barrel with the new heavy bullets would be fantastic deer medicine. I’m talking a 75 grain Barnes TTSX or similar bullet.
