21 Things That Preppers Know Will Be Priceless After The Collapse

Ойын-сауық

As the world becomes increasingly uncertain, it is essential to be prepared for any scenario that may arise. In this video, I go over 21 must-have prepping supplies that are bound to disappear from store shelves and become priceless in a collapse.
As we witness empty store shelves during times of crisis, it becomes evident that certain supplies become scarce before others do. That's why knowing what items to stockpile beforehand is key.
While this list is 21 items that will become priceless in a collapse, I mentioned many more during this video that fall into each category.
This video uncovers the truth about prepping supplies that will disappear when the collapse occurs. From ammunition to alcohol, to the significance of personal hygiene products, I leave no stone unturned.
Don't be caught off guard when the collapse happens - arm yourself with the knowledge of what supplies are vital for survival. Watch this video now to discover the prepping essentials that every prepper knows will be priceless in an SHTF scenario.

For every weather related disaster I've been through and the 2020 pandemic, I found: Water, toilet paper, hygiene products, lithium batteries, rechargeable batteries, solar chargers, solar lighting, expired meds, dried foods, and fuel sources to be most valuable. There's 3 main things you need to survive in most conditions. You need to stay warm, dry, and hydrated. My GHB or BOB contains items that will keep me warm, dry, and hydrated.

I have been Prepping for many many years before retiring a few years ago. I am still prepping. I have a generous supply of different meds, first aid supplies, books, food, water, flashlights, batteries, cleaning supplies, fire starters, tools, camping gear, foil, Ziploc bags, contractor trash bags, some baby supplies, Heirloom Seeds coming out of my ears, ammo, different forms of fuel, comms, solar lights, sturdy boots, plenty of clothing water filters/containers, coffee filters with the knowledge of how to make them from scratch, good supply of hygiene products except a small supply of women's hygiene and a good amount of other supplies. Keep Prepping.

One of the things that drives me crazy is the popular notion that people will routinely cook over open campfires. Really? Have you ever tried to cook over a campfire? Ever had to deal with wet firewood? Can you find enough dry, seasoned logs for day-in-day-out cooking and heating? Does anybody know what a rocket stove is? I've had mine for almost twenty years and, in my opinion, it's the perfect "survivalist" cooking stove. All you need is a handful of dry twigs and in no time at all you'll have a roaring little flame suitable for any frying or boiling application. The twigs should be no thicker than a pencil. You might run out of propane, gasoline, charcoal, or large logs, but you'll never run out of small twigs!

Or I might trade a large tarp, nails and scrap lumber to cover a damaged roof for five gallons of gasoline, and a handgun Or a pharmacy pill bottle half full of salt for a coon hide if it is well stretched and scraped. For fire starter supplies a magnifying glass can be more important than say matches or lighter as on a sunny day you could simply use it to start a fire. For sewing supplies bear in mind that most sewing needles are carbon steel with nickel plating and those tend to rust after a while with intensive use Getting stainless steel needles that can be sharpened without having to worry the rust, the hypoallergenic nature of stainless steel or simply food/surgical grade material can be used as suture needles in real emergency. As part of prepping I am making my own sewing needles, it's a highly sought after skill in medieval and pre industrial period. Instead of having to resort to making bone and wooden needles the ability to make metal needles that is more or less the quality of factory made needles is going to maintain quality of life in a post collapse situation or prolonged global supply chain disruption. Next up would be the ability to maintain or produce tools, sharpening knives, screwdrivers and scissors would be very important as daily tools do wear out after use, the lack of option to purchase, or with the prices of goods skyrocketing in disruption could very well mean your ability to repair tools is going to leverage your accessibility to protection by people. Blacksmith, Tailor, Doctor etc would be very important skill that people might want to snatch you instead of your supplies. Having soldering kit to repair or even salvage parts to fabricate improvised electronics would be highly sought after, as electronics makes up a big part of modern living, fixing the ventilation fan, air-conditioning or even power supply in solar or generators. Essentially of all the items in your prepping list, try to learn skill to repair if not produce them, even if quality is sub par currently in emergency situation the ability to make those items are going to give you an edge as supplies do run out eventually. Next important skill is production and processing food, especially pickles and preservation skill, which even with the best ability to repair refrigerators the odds are with prolonged disruption and industrial collapse unstable grid and expensive refrigerators is going to limit your ability to stockpile food.

Notes on AMMO. I am reloading. It took some cash to start, but I am making the following ammo for these prices. 223 $6.00 for a box of 20 9mm $7.50 for a box of 50 380 $7.00 for a box of 50 20 gauge birdshot $6.00 for a box of 25 410 bore birdshot $4.50 for a box of 25 410 bore 000 buckshot 3 per $2.00 per box of 5 It took an investment of over a thousand dollars, but I have recouped this investment after total of 500 pistol rounds, 300 shotshell rounds and 450 rifle rounds. Now I'm making some cheap to shoot and stockpile ammo. Got years worth. With the usual disclaimers, check you local laws, your mileage may vary and there may be shortages. Stock it deep, keep it cool and dry and date and rotate your stock. Primers just 4 years ago sold for $40/thousand. Now around $90-100 per thousand. At one point you could not find them anywhere. Also primers and powder require special shipping that ammo doesn't, so buying online costs an extra $20-40 for shipping. These are definitely a buy local item.

I would add, that the 4 firearms that are going to do you the most good, are: 12 gauge pump shotgun (OO shells) compact 9mm (Hornady Critical Defense 115 grain FTX) A Henry Lever action 22 rifle (perfect for defense AND hunting small game) A 38 Special revolver (not a snub, but something like the Cimarron Model P Jr. with a 5.5 inch barrel, chambered with +p self defense hollow points) It's an easy to use weapon, by someone that doesn't have a lot of experience with guns, and it has adequate stopping power, and it's almost malfunction-proof)

@@chestermarcol3831 I agree with all of your selections. As we are old with worn out parts the shotgun on the wall is 410 gauge with 000 buck and or various 410 defensive rounds. (backup is 20 gauge, #4 buck) We both carry compact nine with FTX. We love our Henry 22 carbine and our revolver is a cheap Heritage with 22 mag/22 (SAO). Our reach out and touch something is the Henry 223 or a Savage bolt in 17 HMR. And there's the 9 carbine, the 380 mouse gun, and a few other 22s.

Flashlights alone won't cut it when the power goes out for an extended period. Fuel lamps are good to have, but even they run out of fuel. There are several newer lamps available pretty cheap that use LED light. They can be powered by batteries, a magneto crank arm, a USB port, or a solar cell on the top... so there is no scenario whereas you cannot charge them up. I bought 10 of these on Amazon for $20 each. I had good light throughout my home recently during a blackout.

After hurricane Katrina I saw results from surveys that were done after different natural disasters: fires, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes... The number 1 item on that list that people wished they had on hand was cash. For years I saved a $20 bill every week or so. When the pandemic hit toilet paper became much more valuable, since people were avoiding cash. Don't get me wrong, that was one of only a handful of disasters that make cash somewhat useless.

Oh don’t for get about the people that did not prepare at all soon they will go on the hunt for the things that you have . In a near collapse situation I think the gas stations would no longer be in service. Your vehicle will likely not break down or need maintenance from the 5 tanks of gas you can siphon before all the tanks run dry in all the vehicles. Unless people are refining crude oil in their backyard there will be no gasoline availability to the average citizen. 7:0

Us country folks have such a great advantage especially having wooded acres. Plus the self subsisting skills that are part of everyday life. The people who live in metro areas will die in masses in very little time mostly from killing each other. It's best they not think about coming out here and trying to take what we have. They can just save themselves the trip and die in the city. The farther you live from any metro the safer you will be.
