#21 Tennessee dominates Rattler & South Carolina, 41-20 in Vols’s 2023 Dark Mode game
Date: September 30, 2023
Tennessee attains revenge against the South Carolina team that eliminated them from CFP contention in 2022. The Vols advance to 4-1 thus far in Josh Heupel’s third year at the helm while Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks fall to 2-3.
The game featured big games from Jaylen Wright, Squirrel White, and the Tennessee defense.
James Pearce had two sacks for the Vols, and Kamal Hadden picked off Spencer Rattler for a defensive touchdown.
Unfortunately, fan-favorite Bru McCoy was carted off the field with a potentially season-ending injury.
From a history standpoint, 10/19 of this year will mark 120 years since UT’s first FB game against SC. The Vols now have a 3-game home winning streak against them.
Heupel moves to 2-1 in his coaching career against South Carolina.
The Vols record against South Carolina improves to 29-11-2 all-time.

Great Video!
And a good time was had by all.. Well, except for maybe the Gamecock fans and Rattlehead, of course. GO VOLS!!!!!
The Vols have not played as well as last year in any of this years games, and despite the SC win our tackling is a work in progress!
Far from dominate if you are comparing last year game.

Difference from last year’s game to this year’s is Heupel had the class to run down the clock instead of running up the score
