Real talk, he might mumble a little sometimes or lyrics are mostly bout same stuff wasn't sure if he was like these other lame rappers...Hate to say this but he is way smarter than I anticipated and he knows what he's doing, he's gunna stay around
@mareo187

i never made fun of him or even bothered to do it in the first place. Him along with Dicky, Denzel, Paak, and yatchy was the main artists that actually respect from the xxl of last year because they have a personality and they speak their mind. Yatchy have some stuff that most day 1 hip-hop fans don't like but at least he is honest about most of the stuff he say. He doesn't want to take aim at the people who prefer other genres of hip-hop. As of 21 he good young man that obviously faced tough challenges in his life and still trying push through to become a better person.

I can see why this guy is doing well for himself. He's not an obnoxious fool, quite the opposite, he's had a hard life but he has a lot of respect and love for others. I like the way that when one the the guys there said to him "you gotta a lot of white fans too?" and 21's response "yeh and I love em too". He's not your typical 'I rebel for the sake of it' rapper from the hood. Dude is real. Best interview yet.

24:40 Savage says he only played with guns because he was bad, not because he was from the hood. THIS is called honesty, and self accountability and it takes humility to say he's not a good person. I also love how he says picking up a gun is a choice you make, not mandatory. SAVAGE HAS A SOUL.

I listened to 21 savage when he barely started. I would blast his music and a lot of people asked why I listened to this crappy music. I always felt like there was something deeper in his music and lyrics. Now that I watch his interviews and understand what he's coming from, I know what his music is about and where it's coming from. I mean I was so obsessed to find out what his lyrics were about that I started to literally dissect every sentence trying to connect it all. 21 savage keep making your music 💓

he doesn't dumb himself down tho. his "savage" childhood got in the way of his studies so no wonder his vocabulary is limited. after getting kicked out he learned more street slang instead. he had a lot of anger over the years so he vents anger through his music with simple ryhmes. takes a while to comprehend tho cus people aren't smart enough to understand his situation ;)

whether you like his music or not, you gotta respect what he's been through and what his goals are. he has been through an unreal amount of shit at such a young age and he recognises all the shit he did wrong in his past and is making a conscious decision to better himself. he's being the change that he wants to see. respect.

i never made fun of him or even bothered to do it in the first place.

21 still seems to be a solid dude til the present. He's truly one of the few industry ppl that remains humble, 💯, and hasn't lost his humility for his fans! #LOVEHIM💖

This is an amazing interview. Gained a lot of respect for 21 savage based off of this interview seems pretty introspective

A lot of these new rappers are very intelligent, but I believe they dumb themselves down to sell records. Unfortunately they aren't allowed to be their true selves. And unfortunately the world loves evil...so that's what sells.

he doesn't dumb himself down tho. his "savage" childhood got in the way of his studies so no wonder his vocabulary is limited. after getting kicked out he learned more street slang instead. he had a lot of anger over the years so he vents anger through his music with simple ryhmes. takes a while to comprehend tho cus people aren't smart enough to understand his situation ;)

Watching this, I have a completely different opinion of this man. This man has such a big heart, and genuinely wants to make change for the better in his life and his partners’ families’ lives. I hope his path continues upwards. God bless man.
That's why my students from my old school love him so much.... THEY ARE JUST LIKE HIM!!
savage gets way too much disrespect. He's one of a small list of modern rappers who are real people.
