I buy gold and other assets on a dollar cost average schedule and then buy more as price and interest allow. If you want to know more about buying gold coins, that is my primary focus here. I talk a bit about mining stocks and other equities as well. Cheers!

Well, outside of the hypnotic shuffling of gold coins Dr. Gary (inside joke) this is one of the most complete and salient responses to an "ask me anything" video I've ever seen. Educated. Experienced. Eloquent. The three "E's" of a great orator. I think in a nutshell, you answered the last question though out the entire video. Credibility should only go to those who have genuine experiences in the areas in which they speak. Thank you for being a voice of real experience in a space where the guessing often supercedes the doing. - DOA👑

I watched this when you first launched it but had to come back to say thank you for being real. Anyone who’s been on KZread for awhile (I’ve been watching since it was only cat videos and strange dancing videos) knows everyone has an agenda. However, 2is1 tells it as he sees it. No agenda. No bias. Simply why he does (or doesn’t) buy precious metals. I can’t express in words how much I appreciate that. I don’t want someone to convince me to think the way they do - I need someone to tell me WHY they think the way they do so I can incorporate those thoughts into my perspectives (or not). 2is1 does just that. Thank you, as always, for the outstanding content.

Absolutely the best channel I’ve found on precious metals. Too many out there have a doomer mindset, tell you to sell off your 401k, buy nothing but metals, ammo, and food. Really nice hearing someone talking about things like the opportunity cost of metals and assets that don’t pay dividends. Seeing that there are people stacking who are *not* convinced the world is ending made me a lot more comfortable about metals.

Thank you, Professor! I appreciate your support! 🙇♂️
I really appreciate your advice on buying stupid things. I had a hobby for six years or more and I was always losing money - buying new and selling at a loss. Instead, I’ve switched to buying gold and silver. This satisfies my need to collect something while at the same time save money. You talked about tricking your brain in a previous video such that you get the quick high by buying fractional gold instead of waiting for months to buy a one ounces. Yes the premiums are higher but I don’t care. I’d rather spend $50 more on a fractional premium then waste it on a useful collectible that does not increase in value. Great channel!

“200 ounces of gold is a helluva lotta gold.” Why yes, yes it is. Part of the reason I haven’t posted a video in so long is because I stopped buying precious metals. I can’t justify additional gold given I met my self-imposed limit of 8% of my portfolio. I just don’t have anything useful to talk about anymore! You wanna hear about wills and estates? No? How about the rules of evidence? 😫🤮 Very nice video format. Anyone watching your videos has to recognize your credibility. Spot on with the “fear factors.”

I agree vertical. With 2 you should continue. Like for example how you can move your gold to your children in the event of your death. Is it tax free inheritance? Do your children have to report it as income? Or a capital gain? Is there a away around the taxes? Is it just better to fly under the radar and no one ones your offspring even gets it? Enquiring minds want to know. Also why8%? Why not 10%? Few ideas there for ya

Honest answer? Yes those topics (wills, how to leave gold to your kids) are ones that should be discussed because let’s face it, the majority of the folks watching these videos love the shiny and probably are just planning to leave it to their kids and hope they continue to build off where we started. Any insights to that would definitely be appreciated so we all know better what to do.

I should have gotten back to you. Was rushing! It’s either size (online dealers) or peer endorsement. The fact that you guys don’t hide your identities also goes a long way too. Nowhere to hide if there was sketchy behavior!
My question would be, as a silver stacker looking to get into gold, the only way i have found to value the 2 is the GSR (Gold to Silver Ratio) and i have a number in mind but do you have thoughts on when it would be applicable to use the GSR to get into gold? I am only interested in Eagles (Both Gold and Silver) but do you have any other thoughts on the comparison using the GSR and also what do you think about Platinum, never really hear you talk about it?
Spegtacular's Coin Guy for President!
Great video as always... thanks. Didn't get in on the first go around but a couple questions came to mind as I was watching. First, who really "sets" the premiums for gold? I was in my LCS today and they raised their premiums on gold this week even though spot price is down the last couple weeks... they claim premiums went up for them. I get that any LCS or online dealers can sell at whatever premium they want but it seems like the more spot price goes down the more premiums go up so that regardless of movement in spot price you are basically always paying the same for an ounce of gold. What will it take for premiums to go back down to a reasonable level? Second topic... have you in the past or would you now consider selling some of the gold you acquired at lower prices if spot price spikes to lock in a profit on that particular purchase in hopes of buying back lower on a dip? Thanks as always!
@hottuna7
3 жыл бұрын
You are correct in your observation where "spot down equals premium up." When spot drops below what they paid wholesale they just raise their premiums to make up the difference, otherwise they'd go out of business. That's also why whenever spot on any precious metal drops precipitously, suddenly they don't have any for sale.
