The four accounts of his death need to be harmonised, as with any group of witnesses retelling an event they were all witness to. Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "It is finished" (lit: 'Paid in Full'). Then he requested something to drink (the Father was no longer pouring his wrath towards sin out on him, so he could now drink - those in hell cannot drink ever. That was over, he was thirsty, he had a drink), then he gave his Spirit up to his Father: "Into your hands I commend my spirit." It's all part of the "last things he said", but needs to be harmonised. Logically, this can be the only way to frame it. If he'd given up his spirit, he'd not be able to say anything else after... so "It is Finished" must have been said before that.

Pleasant day, thank you so very much for your quizzes. They are quite wonderful and enlightening! Just one correction I must mention here though in reference to Question 19. Yes I agree He did indeed say the answer 'A' but it was not His very last words. Yahshua's very last words were "It is finished." The reason why He said this is not generally known to many believers so here goes. The reason why He said that is indicating that His 'Mission was finished'. You see, because of original sin(events in the Garden of Eden), Yashua had to come to the planet in Human form to give ALL of us a choice to have Eternal Life. You see, we are all sinners according to the standards of the 10 Commandments. We serve an omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient God. In other words, a Holy, Sovereign God. So now, let us fast forward to Judgement Day and we are all standing in God's presence. NONE of us are Saints, which means we have all fallen short of the 10 Commandments. No matter how small it is, most of us have stolen something in our lives. How about telling a lie? WE ALL HAVE... lol. How about lusting? every red-blooded man has done this and Yahshua said, if you look at a woman with lust in your heart, you have already committed adultry...as you may recall, 'Thou shall not commit adultery' is the 7th commandment. Sooooooo, what did our Loving God do?? Well He made a way for us to have eternal life despite our shortcomings. He wants us to stand with Him on Judgement Day not in some PIT with the most low and his boys! so this is why he sacrificed Himself and came to the earth in the personage of Yahshua to fulfill the greatest rescue mission ever known to date. It's like being arrested then standing before the Judge, you are given your sentence and the fine is $500,000, but before you could even blink back the tears, a random stranger stands up and asks to speak. When granted permission, he says: 'I believe everyone deserves a second chance at life, I'll pay the fine'... then silently walks out the court room. This is like what Yahshua did for us, He paid the price for our sins...a free gift to ALL. The proper way to receive this free gift is as simple as opening your heart...like a loved one who cared and knew you even before your were born...open up to your dear Creator so He can restore and completely heal your soul, your heart and your entire mind.. Then the next step is to Repent followed by asking for forgiveness. That's it! ...just take the first step, when you get a free moment, especially in these trying times...tomorrow will take care of itself. ONE
