21/42 - Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park, Dundee Football Club, 26/1/19: We officially marked the halfway point of the tour today with a visit to Dens Park for the match between Dundee and Motherwell. Amazing hospitality by the club supplying free tickets for us today so a huge thanks to them for that. Dens Park is very much a mix of old and new and today we sat in the centre section of the Main Stand which offered us a superb view of the action albeit with a few pillars in the way at times. The suppprters around us were encouraging their team for the whole match which was brilliant to hear. Behind each goal are identical more modern stands, one housing the home support (Bobby Cox Stand) and the other the away fans (Bob Shankly Stand). Opposite us in the Main Stand was the South Enclosure which housed the vocal home support. The Club Shop offered an impressive range of merchandise and we easily found the pin badges at just £3.00 each. In terms of the pie, it was one of the better ones of the tour. Thumbs up! In terms of the game it’s hard to believe Dundee lost this match to be honest. They were on top for much of it with some glaring opportunities in the first half in particular. Motherwell did a smash a grab via a penalty mid way though the second half. All in all a great visit to Dens and a brilliant way to mark 50% of the tour done
