Despite me running scald in this video, you should run dynamic punch instead to punish opposing lanturn counter swaps and water types

I got pretty good results with Poliwrath lead (don’t have a shadow yet unfortunately), GWeezing safe switch and closing abomasnow. You get corebroken by the water/poisons though, so I think your iteration on this is better, I’ll see what I can do with it. Great take!

The team is still functioning. But at 2300-2370 it's over. Met your colleague @ThoTechtical and was destroyed. But maybe in a few days it will go a little higher again when more people play in this Elo range. The best are still there at the moment. Thx for the Team!

im using a shadow mawhile, sev lead and dewgong. i want to try and shadow mawhile lead team, idk maybe a reg vic and poliwrath maybe idk. i really like this team. i just feel like mawhile is such a good core breaker. i did the same wit shadow golert with the halloween and i made it to vet for the first time. i just cant decide on the best swap for a smawhile lead. btw reg mawhile might be better because sometimes that extra bulk would have been helpful.

If you’re running fire fang mawile, then I’d definitely recommend the shadow. If you have a mawile lead, then you need answers to water types behind it. Lanturn is a fantastic option as a closer

The team works nice with 3 sets i climb to 2200. But machtes with a water lead (Empoleon or Tentacrueld) and double plant you will lose..Pelipper Lead ist also difficult

would u recommend this team 2 climb 2 veteran this season during the spring cup?

With the current look of the meta I'd definitely recommend this team. That may change if/when the meta shifts as it develops tho

Safe swap into your poli since most are running overheat as opposed to play rough. This also allows you to check for grass types in the back where you can then flip switch to get lanturn on the gweezing or if you lose switch, to get an energy advantage on the aboma for when the gweezing comes back in

I tried this team with shadow abomasnow having icy wind

Question: does normal wrath could replace the shadow one? Also why scald instead of DP in this meta?

In almost all situations where shadow wrath is used it can be replaced with the non-shadow but would be a noticeable downgrade :) As for dynamic punch over scald, it honestly never crossed my mind at the time of recording these battles but is definitely the way to go to punish a lanturn counter swap and other water types

Can Trevenant replace Abomasnow? I’ve tried using this team for 3 sets, but the results aren’t good. I have an Abomasnow, but I’m still waiting for events to unlearn with a TM.

Trev can replace aboma but then jumpluff could cause you some trouble. I’d recommend tenta instead of the poli if that’s the case

Appears so! If it’s in the back then lanturn beats it ez pz. On the lead you’d ss into the poli :)

Abomasnow dang near took out that whole Jumpluff Venusaur team. Could have easily got the three piece too if you used Poli as a sac swap for the Frenzy Plant.

Rose is tough but Aboma gets it low enough for your back line to handle. And a rose lead tends to have water types behind it as well so lanturn can put in a lot of work. ABA grass would be very tough though!

Loving the content as always! Would you run a terrible ranked s-Poli (3000 ish) or a high ranked normal? Shadow Poli will win cmp in the mirror though 😂😂

Actually tried Poli with DP. Pretty good on SS. Can flip the Lanturn swap in if they let it go which they always do. 1-shield and farm down and leave with a scald

Update* 1977 elo. Lost some to teams that had both sludge wave and mirror shot. Dont see that as weak team points mainly me not managing it well.

Yes thats a problem - One energyball and than Lanturn. But most time the backline has plants...

I like to stay in with the aboma and build up to the energy ball but bait with the weather ball. If they shield, you'll then go fo rthe energy ball. As for your opponents move, if they shield the wb bait, I'd shield theirs in return because you'll outpace to the energy ball before they reach the hurricane. If they call the weather ball bait, it then becomes a bait call on your part from them as to wether or not they go for the weather ball or hurricane. Either way, after you go for your second move, I'd safe swap into the poli

Tried this team out, im not the best player, but went 0 - 5 out the gate at about 1800...im usually an Ace/ veteran player....just kept getting hardcountered
