Kaninabe is quickly becoming one of favourite players of all time, with him doing well at Kagaribi 11 and NOW recently at Port Priority 8 getting top 8 beating players like Tweek MKLeo and Onin!

We've seen many Fox players go for Shine spikes and up throw up air. We've even seen Light get Shine up smash. Now we have Kaninabe using Shine out of shield in a Fox ditto. Ultimate really is going through its 20XX phase.

Amazing video, deserves way more views. Insanely well put-together and informative with good match commentary.

I think its so funny, for someone that's taking japanese right now, that Kaninabe translates to crab sticks (kani meaning crab and nabe meaning stew), meaning whenever you look up kaninabe in hiragana on google it pulls up a bunch of crab dishes LMAO

As a fox main, and a yellow fox at that, I loved seeing kaninabe break through into a top 8, as I had actually been watching him for a bit before port. Thank you for this amazing video walt, weather it be melee or ult your quality is unmatched, especially your music choices. You give me newfound motivation to strive for my goals within this game, see yall in 2024.

Fuck the state of the industry that you have to accept sponsorships from such garbage companies. I genuinely feel bad that the overwhelming majority of baked in ads (even for creators I adore such as Walt) are pushing such obvious crap. I will always skip the ad without watching it and I apologise to the creators that use that money to live because as a consumer, I won't be profitted off by scammy mobile developers and the 65th new wallet company.

I mean sponsorships are a very normal part of any work in this industry and are pretty necessary in order to maintain a reasonable income, but I can't blame you for feeling that way at all. I think I make my feelings about those types of activations pretty clear within the videos and written copy, so hopefully that comes across to you as viewers as well.

They’re very light but it’s one of the only ways they’re well balanced haha, both characters would be extremely good if they weren’t prone to dying early

Ryu's light utilt train in Smash4 worked exactly the same but Ryu was deemed a cool character by the community and nobody complained about it as a result

I was literally saying earlier tonight that Fox is one of the few characters that can play super lame like conic or can counter super lame playstyles (like sonic and steve). captain falcon could also be an okay counter but he kinda sucks aside from speed. Anyways glad I stopped playing ultimate before steve ruined the game and sonic ruined watching top 8s.

What the actual fuck. Steve makes Melee fox Waveshine look balanced. At the very least, Waveshine>Upsmash requires perfect inputs, high APM, accounting for trajectory, spacing, stage, and requires a ton of experience to pull off consistently. You're telling me "top players" in this babby's first fighter literally walk while pressing A into fair offstage? THAT is "top play"?? I take back all the hate I gave Melee purists for dissing this game. I used to play Ult before all the DLC packs - Was actually really fun as a casual fighter. Thank GOD I quit before all this crap was introduced. Nintendo cash grab into ruin meta true combo ig.

The walking jab thing doesn't work on most characters, which is why I doubt it was intended by Nintendo. It's a frustrating ''feature'' for sure, and turns a potentially even matchup into a losing one.
