If Dodge is planning to discontinue the Durango in a few years, the brand will become even less popular unless they offer what their customers are demanding. The Hornet was already unpopular from the start, despite being an SUV which is the type of car most Americans want, which is proven by the fact that it’s piling up at dealer lots. The new Charger still has a chance to be made popular like its predecessor. It may look good on the outside, but the powertrain and drivetrain are not what most people want. Everyone is demanding a V8 and RWD like the previous generation and since it was literally outselling every other American sedan combined, it’s already obvious what options Dodge needs to add to the new Charger, rather than looking for loopholes to make people buy it with what it’s offered with now. The Charger and Challenger’s popularity also proves that America’s passion for sedans isn’t dead. If Dodge doesn’t do anything quickly, they’ll probably be beaten by Ford and GM, since most people would probably choose the Ford Mustang GT/Dark Horse and the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing over the 2-door Charger and the 4-door Charger, respectively, since they’re offered (exclusively) with a V8 and RWD.

Good video mopar content. The Chrysler brand discontinued alot of the vehicles over the years like Concorde, LHS, 300M, Aspen, Crossfire, Sebring, Pacifica crossover suv, 200 & the iconic 300. The only have one vehicle in their lineup is the Pacifica minivan.

@@markg7030true but I believe @NewtownVids is referring to the actual “Chrysler” line up (not the rest of the Chrysler group lineup). We’re down to just one model which is Fking PATHETIC! I’ve owned a few Mopars but my first (and last) new Chrysler brand vehicle is my 23’ 300C and I couldn’t care any less for a damn minivan or CUV. The future is grim and makes me happy I signed that dotted line when I did. Stellantis and the current idiots in Washington completely ruined the future for us gear heads that like Mopar. At least these new cars will never see markups lol

There is an Alfa that's being built on the charger platform with the hurricane too. I'd like to see it in a smaller vehicle, they desperately need to put the HO version into a small Maserati and call it a Viper etc

They need to start dropping weight on Dodge models for performance. Need another v8 other than a Hemi that can rev higher with forced induction that can meet emissions. Add lightness to quote Colin Chapman.

I've got a 2014 Durango RT to back up my 2021 WB 392 Charger. I'm gonna trade the charger in for a WB 392 Challenger and i may look to upgrade the Durango as well later on. I'm never getting rid of my Hemi V8's thats a fact.

Would make a nice 2 door pickup truck

With the current gen Durango continuing into the 2025 model year, that means that it'll be one of the longest running generations of any American vehicle. The C3 Corvette and Fox Body Mustang both had a 15 year run, but the third gen Durango will beat them by 1 year. The third gen Ford Econoline/Club Wagon beats the third gen Durango by 1 year, with a 17 year run.

I like the artist's rendition of the Durango. Makes it look wider, not taller (tip over) look.

I get what you're saying, I do really like the wider look but I think the front end would need more work because it looks very similar to the electric ram and that thing is hideous😂

The new Dodge Stealth isnt going to look like one in this video's thumnbnail. A photo was sent to Car and Diver by Dodge and then released publicly. It will be back to "body on frame" construction, using the Wagoneer platform. HO motor option will be a dual turbo 500hp V6 motor thats already in use,. My family friend of 47 years has worked Dodge assembly for the last 31. So ask me how i know

@@MarspeedCars body on frame would kill any interest I would have in the Durango. Sounds like the engine options (or lack thereof) makes it moot point either way though. 😢

New generation will look new and better like the 4Runner did

Stellantis is removing all the other favorites, this is the last one standing,. Of course it still sells, even if it has the stupid hybrid on the 3.6. All that weight and cost doesn't keep the customers happy, it's all for the government. If Stellantis thinks this will satisfy the central planners that want us out of cars, they are mistaken.

Still think the next Durango will be on the Wagoneer Platform to compete against Chevrolet Tahoe!

But typical Stellantis will kill this like they killed the perfectly fine and well selling muscle cars in the name of “overhauling the lineup for electrification” and that’ll leave Dodge with nothing for its replacement. I think Dodge should have a replacement vehicle before they cancel their outgoing models.

Still just a 3 row crossover. Another common Stellantis L. Might as well just be an AWD Pacifica with less practicality and goofy stripes. The V8 was the only thing that made these remotely interesting.

Dodge lied about having a new generation of this vehicle.

It's gonna take sum investors to take Dodge Jeep, Ram and Chrysler back from under European control

Before they built the 2024 mustang they built the Mach E just saying

We just have to wait and see by end year what actually comes out. Contrary to many they say the hurricane engine is not good. It is a very good engine. Back in the late 60’s jeepsters in at least South America had hurricane engines and people loved those straight 6 engines they were built as solid as the 4.0 engines of the 90’s in the Cherokee. They lasted forever. Do not know why we never got those engines here. Maybe cafe regulations or similar. But they were tanks of engines and actually fast for there time.

Whether it’s good or bad that’s the gas engine across the stellantis North American lineup that we will get. So far so good for the performance, it definitely outperforms the Hemis in the same application. Haven’t looked much into MPG numbers and reliability will come later. Dodge/Ram/Jeep are just saying hey if you want gas buy the Hurricane, if you want electric we also have an option. Should have kept 1 V8 around though as an option for diehards.

@@MarspeedCars Exactly! Its the Hurricane or some random EV. Personally I'm looking forward to it. The Hemi was a great engine but it did have a lot of issues.

I believe dodge needs to stop being just a name/brand and be come the power house they use to be and can become again. Bring back limited runs like they did with the rams and chargers. And just redesign on the bodys and hemi and boom its fun and it sells
